  1. I'm sorry to say, but the later 2Gens already have the last two Gears in Overdrive. Both 4th and 5th Gear are geared less than 1.
  2. Please take a look at this old Article regarding Patents for the new Vmax... http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/mcn/2007/July/jul30-aug1/july3107yamahavmaxpatentsrevealed/?&R=EPI-93145 These Drawings come from Patents by Yamaha. Can you imagine the new Vmax being presented with a Fairing ?? Now, we know now, the new Vmax has no Fairing, but why the Heck is a Bike with a Fairing in these Drawings ?
  3. Don't get me wrong. I do not believe the Oil Companies are the Source of all evil. They are a bigger Parts of it, tough. I'm in no Doubt, they're producing everything they have or can get. But doing so, is not only in interest of the Consumer, but also in their very own Interest, because they're making big Money nowadays. If i'm not misinformed, it was 36 Billion USD for the biggest 5 US-Oil Companies. Only for the first Quarter this Year. Duhhh ... I'm sure with you in not believing everything the Media or the Government says on this Issues. All these Hands are sticky enough to make big and bigger Money out of the Situation. US has little Taxes on Fuel, but even this small Amount of Taxes is constantly rising, and is very welcome in the Department of Treasury. They are all blaming someone else for their constantly rising Earnings. Not one CEO is standing up and says "Yes we made a very good Profit, because ... that's what the Shareholders pay us for". At least, this would be the Truth. The Treasury Secretary could stand up and say, yes the Taxes exceeded our Expectations by far. But what does he do? He takes away 2000 USD and gives you 600 back to stimulate the Economy, what a bad Joke. The Hedge Funds are very active in the Oil Market and their big Piles of Cash are driving the Oil Price as much as the Supply and Demand Theory. I have to stop here, but these Tactics of blaming anyone else is ridiculous and hypocrite. They all make their share and we Consumers are paying the Price. My last Statement is, don't believe if Demand is going down for whatever Reason, the Price will go down adequate. They all are willing to hold their Positions and will change the from the Percentage Mode to absolute Numbers Mode. Which means, if they can't make the Amount of Money they made before, the Margin has to change and the Earnings have to stay where they are (in Billion USD). That all said,, i'm thinking about buying some Shares in Oil and in buying in US, the Excange Rates to the Euro is giving a good Leverage for me and the the Dividends sure are one H... of an Icing on a Cake.

  5. If there's any Vibration at all, the most of it will get caught in the rubber Dampers of the Handlebars.
  6. Redneck, your Faith in a perfect World is overwhelming. German and european Laws prohibit Price rigging as nearly anywhere else in the free World. The Anti-Trust Agencies are running constantly and watching the Companies for any Price rigging and find nothing, as usal. They even watch Communications between the Headquarters. But .... Let me tell you, three big Oil Companies have their german Headquarters in Hamburg. Their Buildings cover three the four Corners of a big Intersection in the City. By Chance, their Buildings are about the same Height and all of the CEO's have the top Floor, as usual. If these People want to discuss something, they only need their ten Fingers and one Thumb for up or down and look outside the Window ... And, what could you expect from a chronically broke Government which collects nineteen Percent Value added Tax on every Liter sold. 19 Percent .... It's a Difference if each Liter costs 1 Euro or 1.50 Euros ... 50 Percent Difference, if i'm right on that. They're ripping us off, all together. The Strikes of the Truckers aren't only in Spain, France is also not far from being strangled. Italy will have big Problems soon. Germany ?? No Way, this Sort of Strike is forbidden, they will take your License and ruin the Company if any Trucker would dare to do so. The only Option is NOT to work, but the Truckers are so broke and near the Ruin, most of them can't allow to stop working, not even for two or three Days. Finally, what would happen if the germans would stop working ? Well, there are enough Trucks from other Countries on the Streets, they would gladly take the Jobs, at the same Price and half the Costs, a really good Job for them.
  7. Any Updates ? Inquiring Minds want to know ...
  8. I had right Fairing apart and the complete Instrument Cluster as well as the Headlight off the Bike. I didn't notice such a Connector being unused or a short/dummy Connector in the Area. I'm at Home with the Max right now, might be able to pull the Blinker out tomorrow if this would help. But there was nothing like that, i'm about 95 Percent positive about that.
  9. When seeing CO2(Carbone Dioxide) in your Post as CO(Carbone Monoxide), 1.2 Vol% is less than expected. As a first Test, set it at 3 to 3.5 Percent by adjusting the Mixture Screws beneath the Diaphragm Bowls. There are small 6 mm Bolts on every Down pipe, so you can adjust each Carb separate. Second, check the Vacuum Sensor for Function. Report back the Results so far.
  10. The rubber Block are Diodes. They have nothing to do with the Hazard or Signals.
  11. i know, i know Dan .. I've read everything on the MD Threads and looked at all the Pics ... I'll gotta confess, i'm green AND yellow with envy on having y'all such a great Day. Your 'keeping the Navigator happy' Move brought a very big grin on my Face, even my Wife noticed my Chuckles ...
  12. Hey, i was just kidding :rotf: I don't know about the specific Laws in UK, but my Bike was coming from Swiss and they do not have to have a Hazard Switch, apparently, my Bike has no Connector for it either. I was in that Area under the Fairing as well, some 3 Weeks ago and didn't find anything likely.
  13. last Time i looked under my Screen name on my Postings .. there stood " '93 Venture; '99 Vmax " :rotf: No, offense, just a bit nagging ... :whistling::whistling:
  14. IF there is a Hazard Switch, mine hasn't one.
  15. Just buy some small silver or golden Tape from the Automotive Area and give the Helmet a new and unique Design. Or stick a Venturerider.org Sticker upon the Scratches.
  16. Probably no Venture in '09 Then a new Venture Model in 2010, with the new Vmax V4, 1680cc Engine and detuned to 160 hp.
  17. Joe, I agree. But the only Thing i'm not sure of is how and why did he change his Attitude. What i saw the last 3rd of last Season and this Season could be seen as you describe or McLaren-Mercedes has over painted his beginning Manhood with their Attitude. Last Year, he did what they told him and he succeeded relying on the Team. As they wanted everything, their Avidity fell on their Heads. They lost everything and maybe he got a bit arrogant and not seeing it like it is. The British have a wonderful Term for this Process. They call this Character Building. McLaren Mercedes is not good for the most Drivers. If they win, the Car is the best, if they fail, the Driver often has to take the Blame.
  18. Good Job, so, what's the next Target ??
  19. How come, you think i don't know what i'm talking about ?? I did ride a Busa for 30 or 40 mls. It's awesome, no Doubt. But believe me George, there's nothing like a Max with a 1500 cc or even more Displacement with EFI. I've ridden several of those also. I don't care for riding at Speeds above 250 kph/155 mph on a naked Bike, but the way of getting there is what i'm interested in. The V4 has so much more Torque, you even can't hold on to the Handlebars without having the Pegs as an rear Set on a souped up Engine. I don't like Chain Drive. But each to his own. Finally, i totally agree on what you said. There's a Lot of technical Differences and the VMAX might be worth the extra Premium Price they ask for, but not for me and for my Wallet. I have a respectfully Pile of Cash saved for buying this Bike, but it's 20 Percent more than i'm willing to pay. Once they can be bought at a nice Price or at good Price used, there may be one coming up in my Stable, but only then. Rumours are, the VMAX in UK will cost twice as much as two Busa's, TWO NEW Busa's ...
  20. I'd say, the Answer would be a double Yes ...
  21. V4 Motor, 160 Nm of Torque, NO Chain Drive, ABS, Fly-by-Wire, better Forks than the Haya, better Brakes and several other 'Amenities'. Other than this, i'm with you George, no Way to sink 20 K in that Bike. I'm looking for a 1Gen '83 to '85 rolling Chassis and making up my very own 2Gen Vmax.
  22. This Pressure is a on the very low Side for the rear. 35 in front is fine, but on the rear you'd better run it on 42 psi, especially when riding 2-up. btw, there is an Aftermarket Spring for the 1Gens Shock from Progressive Performance.
  23. That's what i've meant to say. It isn't a electrcal Problem on my Bike, but the Mesh is soaked in Water (and Dirt) and this isolates the Mic from any Noise Signal. Whalla, no Boost on Volume.
  24. I use have to use the ME 880's on my '93 VR by our Law here. The're not bad. Not as sticky as my Michelin Pilot Road2 on the Vmax but so far so good. If i would be free to choose, i'd probably use the Michelins Commanders.
