Now that you said it .... Isn't your Wife not doing this ??:whistling: -
Nope, they have different Jetting, Main Jets are bigger (152.5) but the Engine basically is the same. Lynn's Thoughts are right, if any Bike of the Family should have different Main Jets, then it's the Max, because it has much more Output and therefore much more Heat will be created. I think this wierd Jetting could have something to do with the AIS ?? Other than this, it wouldn't make any Sense to my small Brain. On the other Hand, i never explored that AIS, but it shouldn't work with different Jets either.

starter clutch when cold ?
Squeeze replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Other than you need a Hub Puller which utilizes 3 Bolts M8x100 10.9 Grade, it's not a major Job. But pulling the Flywheel can be annoying. Without such a fitting Puller ... don't think about it. -
starter clutch when cold ?
Squeeze replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think it's not the warm/cold Temperatures of the Engine but of the Battery. The Battery is more powerful when warm, because the inner Resistance is a Lot lower than on a cold Battery. Now, the Batters has more 'Power' to give and the Starter Clutch gets hit be a Lot crispier Snap and catches better and therefore misses not so often. A new or better Battery won't help you much in this State, the Clutch Repair has to done anyway. -
I'm sorry to oppose, but i don't think you can ride easy and relaxed when tightening all Things up. Be it your Muscles or the Contact to the Bike. I simply counter steer my Bikes initially into a Curve and let the Bars relatively loose. When i corner hard, then i try to control my Body NOT to tighten the Muscles. When i'm hard on my upper Body and Arms, i will 'screw up' the Turn, making the Bike and Suspension not working as it should but 'steering' the Bike through the Corner. This Guiding or Steering will make it hard to control if there is a sudden Move, such as Dirt, Potholes or a Tarmac Snakes.

# Hey, don't get me wrong, i'm all in for free speech and 'bashing' Harley's ... but i could wait and see how long it will take until someone will speak up, which doesn't like the Harleys be 'bashed', even when it's all in good and Fun.

Could be either bad Contacts in the Handlbar Switch, the Connector to the Switch or Dashboard or the bad soldering Joints on the CMS inside the Dashboard.

They don't need any Maintenance or other Work. They're there and do their Job. End of the Story. After a long Time, the Plastics where the Timing Chains run on can be worn out, but very seldom.

Dam what do you mean with that Sentence ?? The Race was pretty much a standard Race. Rain as a Scare to all, but they was nothing during the Race. Red was far beyond anybody elses Capabilites. On Raikonen's Car, the rigt Exhaust Pipe broke loose and the Gases burned a good Hole in the Enigne Cover and the Airbox. He may have lost 50 hp due to that, but took second Place wiothout any Doubts. Even when McLaren would have been in second Row, they wouldn't have any Chances for Winning. Hamilton did not bad, Kovalainen was fast also, but with the Penalties (Kova got 5 Places backwards on the Grid because Blocking during Q2) they gathered, they never had a real Chance for the Win.
