  1. I'm here ...
  2. I can second that. My Firefox updated 6 Hours ago and nothing bad happens, even when hitting the Reload Button.
  3. Sounds like your Pilot Jets inside the Carb Bowl are plugged. These are in the Jet Block inside the Floater Bowls. By shimming the Needles, you won't gain anything on that Matters. Only Thing before pulling the Carbs and completely tear them apart and cleaning is to pour down some Carb Cleaner through the Jets and Ports on the Carb Throat and hope for cleaning up. There is the PAJ#1 and besides that a small Hole. Spray into both and blow afterwards with the Airgun and compressed Air. Don't aim at the big oval Hole there, this would move the Slides and too much compressed Air there is bad for the Diaphragms. Also, there is a tiny O-Ring on the Diaphragm Bowl. Behind that are fixed Jets which also could be partially plugged and disturb proper Function on the Idle Circuits.
  4. Don, that would help much, the final Drive Ratio's are the same on every Venture, 1st or 2nd Gen.
  5. For the Americans over here loud Pipes are a real Problem..... They have to have their Bike inspected and my couldn't pass the Test, even with a brand new and in Germany legal Aftermarket Exhaust. This Exhaust would have made him pass a german Inspection with flying Colours, but not the american Inspection, figure that !!! He needed several Trips to the Inspectors, because they didn't operate the Measuring Device properly and according to the Rules of Engagement. After several missed Test, he finally offered them to break Hell loose over them, because they were working in his Field of Expertise. So they let him pass... But i think this Story will have a second and third Act. He told me, there are several Guys in the Services who had this happen. So, the Moral of this Story, prepare to see new Rules regarding Noise sooner or later, but they will come.
  6. Oh no .... now the Member come with some Fine Print and Details sunken deep in the Ocean of Rules ....:bowdown:
  7. Hey Don, this was NOT NICE !! But a very very good Point made ...:rotfl:
  8. I like it, are they called the 'yellow Angels' ?
  9. This is pretty much the same as i use in my Bikes. Venture and Vmax. The Battery in the Vmax lasts the fourth Season now without leaving anything to desire. one and a half Season on my Venture. I've heard some negative Comments, but that where maybe 3 out of 100. I use some special Post for connecting the Battery. http://www.louis.de/shop/img450/10036110_880.JPG Don't know if they are sold in US also.
  10. The IE 7 has given many many Probs on my Vista Installation. I use Firefox 2. something without any Probs.
  11. Probably you should dig into the Carbs of your 'puter ?? Or even think about updating it to an EFI ? Just kidding, of course :2143::2143:
  12. But the Odo will run backwards ...
  13. This is because how the Industry System works ... The actuall Manufacturer is confronted with the failing Switches and they pay a tremendous Price on each failed Switch to Yamaha. If the Ratio isn't high enough, Yamaha isn't able to make a Recall and let the OEM pay for the Recall Costs. So, they are 'only' charged for the actually failed Switches. This works as long as Yamaha isn't in Fear of loosing a Lot of Reputation. But therefore, the Ratio of failed Switches is not high enough.
  14. The 1 Gen Floaters are available. If you can't catch some, use them from the Vmax. '85 Vmax had the same Carbs, the later were 35mm Carbs which are the same in that Matters.
  15. No Screw for the Float Height. You have to bend the Tab on the Floater which connects the Floater Valve.
  16. They are all the same ... #1 left rear #2 left front #3 right rear #4 right front Seen as when sitting on the Bike
  17. I agree with George, for such a Purpose, a Hayabusa is as right enough as the the new Vmax. On the other Hand, when riding with intend to Die, why not do it with some extra Class ??
  18. Spray something like WD 40 on the Fork Legs, let it sink for a while and turn the Rings to left and right before prying them off. Once you got them moved, they will come up easily.
  19. I once had a Vmax on the Lift where the same happened. I chased Vacuum Leaks and found nothing. Then i asked the Guy wether he had worked there and splitted the Carbs recently. He answered Yes, so i teared them off and took a deep look. It was simple Thing. The Bolts which hold the Carbs toghter are not guided in any Way. During bolting everything togehter, the Guy tightened the left and right Side in a Manner that the Halves were set at the nearest Point. When the Bike warmed up, the Carbs warmed up also and the Lever which connects both Sides epanded due to the Heat. Now, i'm not saying this might be the Solution to your Problem, but i want to say how Things happen. The Linkage on the right Side Carbs may be a dry and stuck when warm. A Friend of mine tore his Max apart to get the Frame welded and powdercoated, while storaging the Parts, he bent the Linkage of the Carbs and couldn't get them synched or setted down to a normal Idle. He searched everything for Days and found nothing. We talked for Hours over the Phone without Success. Finally, i come to his Garage and 30 Minutes later, i was hooking the Vacuum Gauges on the Manifolds.... There are Lot of Things happen ....
  20. Sounds like a good Plan .... Now .... Carpe Diem !!
  21. 5 to 6 Hours of charging are fine. Immediate use of the Battery without charging will result in reduced Lifetime of the Battery, at least.
  22. Dang, i missed the End this Time ... I agree on Swifty's Comment was very polite and nice, at least i didn't read any nasty Subtone in it .... :rotf::rotf: We all should know about the Controversies on some Issues, some Times i'm getting into them, sometimes i'm only a innocent Bystander. I don't know why, but i did knew the Thread would last for long. :Avatars_Gee_George:
  23. It's 197 hp and 129+ ftlbs Torque or 202 PS/ 174 Nm here's the VMAX Microsite http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/msite/micro_v1.aspx I wanted one, badly. But when i saw the Specs, i was sort of disappointed in regard to the Price called for. But eventually, i will be in Swiss on Saturday to take a close Look at the Bike. Might be hard to justify that much of Money, but on the other Hand, Life is short... No Times heard, yet. Rumours from the Test Riders say something like mid Niners. This Beast is build for the Drag Strip, but seem to corner very well.
  24. Dan, check the KILL Switch first !!! The Solenoid (Starter Relay) is operated by the Button when the Killswitch is in ON Position, the Tranny is in Neutral OR the Sidestand is up OR the Clutch Lever is pulled. When all these Conditions are given, the Contacs of Starter Button may be dirty or the Connector between Main Wireing Harness and the Handlebar Switch has bad Contact.
  25. All my Bikes don't do anything when the Kill Switch is OFF
