  1. I finally got off my butt and posted a few items for auction for the "Kids" at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We had a decent year last year with the awesome help of B2Dad & B2Mom raising about 70 % of the monies donated, and I am hoping this year we can do even better considering this year there will be a Tail of the Dragon/Vogel, and we raise quite a bit there, so dig deep, bid often. I have pics posted in the auctions but I will preview them here for everyone to see.
  2. NEIGHBOR'S 7 YEAR OLD KID WAS PLAYING IN MY MOTORCYCLE HOUSE AND PUT STUFF IN THE TRUNK OF MY 2006 RAV. HE MUSCLED THE LID SHUT AND NOW IT WON'T RAISE ALL THE WAY AND ONLY STAYS HALF WAY UP. I NOW LOCK THE BUILDING. HOW DO I GET THE THING BACK RIGHT?
  3. I'm gonna change my spark plugs myself. Looking at that project closely, It appears I might have to raise the gas tank to get to the front two plugs, Am I thinking right?
  4. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/autozone-fires-worker-who-stopped-robbery.html This man should have been given a raise instead he was fired
  5. what would happen, if you put a longer rear shock on, say 12 inches instead of he normal 10?. Will it raise the seat height?. And if you changed the links could you lower it back down?
  6. my handle bars are to low, what do i have to do, to raise them a little?
  7. I have to replace my clutchline/pipe which is located right underneath the engine I DO NOT have a jack adapter and using wood blocks I can raise bike but the jack is in the way really NO room to work any ideas as to how I can raise it. I would just like to get the front off the ground about a a foot or more with the rear tire on the ground. Jack is 12" wide with 9" between lifts.
  8. I just got my insurance renewal from Echelon General Insurance Company, through Riders Plus. I thought these guy's were supposed to be biker friendly. It went up approximatly $200.00 to a painful $812.00. That is roughly a 33 % increase, no tickets, no accidents and no claims. That was for one million liability only. No collision, fire or theft, for my 89. How do they justify such a whopping increase at a time when the average worker is lucky to even get a 2% raise If they even get one at all. I know some who haven't had a raise in 4 years and then there are the ones who have even been unemployed. :Avatars_Gee_George: :Avatars_Gee_George:
  9. ‎1999-2006 TULSA TOURING RIDERS & THE OKLAHOMA MOTORCYCLE DEALERS ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED AND PUT ON THE "MOTORCYCLIST AGAINST CANCER" (MAC) RALLY. WE WHERE ABLE TO RAISE OVER $250,000 FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER. HERE IS LOOK AT SOME OF THIS EVENT. http://www.photoshow.com/watch/bt4pg4UB PHILL
  10. Went on the Make A. Difference ride this morning. It's an annual ride to raise money for our local spinal and rehabilitation hospital. nice way to pay back for the care they gave me on several occasions. Got to take one of the nurses for a ride to a motorcycle festival in a country town. This town is recovering after deverstating bush fires, so nice to be able to inject some money into their local economy...and raise some at the same time
  11. http://www.americadeservesaraise.com/nomination/thankateacher Check out story, rate it and vote to give a teacher a raise.
  12. Thought that title would get your attention. Ok for the few people I haven't harassed yet I'll let you all in on what I've been thinking. No it's not as scary as you might think. I talked to Squid now known as Cupcake about next years MD. I thought it might be really cool if we could bring Annie and Quickstep over for it. Also talked to the boss man, since I'd imagine he'd have to get them from the airport. So I asked Annie and she said it was ok with them. So here's the proposition do you all think we can raise the money to get them here? Also it would be really helpful if we had a travel agent. They usually have better contacts then us, but if not I have a few folks that can help me work on the tickets. At this point we don't know when MD will be so we have some time to raise the funds. So if you all are in we can get started. Now I just need to know if you all would be willing. So let the responses fly. Margaret

  14. Brian Fries aka Friesman1 has offered up a Headlight modulator that he is not going to use. It is brand new in the package. It is a Pathblazer. Retail value of about $50.00. Now in order for someone to claim this unit there is a catch. Before I explain the catch, you need to know that the proceeds of this sale will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you have read previous posts about our efforts to raise money for St. Jude, you will know that others have had fundraisers to help with this cause. This year we raised $3,450.00. This brings our totals for the past 5 years close to $9,800.00. We not only raise funds this way but also by visiting the Mean Dog Tribute site where contributions can be made. If you want to have this for your own and help out the kids at St. Jude, all you have to do is make a $25.00 donation to the Mean Dog Tribute site. We only have one so the first person to post wanting to make a donation will receive this headlight modulator. The link for the Tribute site is at the bottom of this page in my signature. Thanks to Brian donating this item.
  15. The 05 Midnight Venture I have has been lowered. What would I need to do to reverse this and return the bike to the way it was? I was going to purchase the leveling links from DiamondR to raise the bike back up. Is there any thing else that is needed that is a must to do? Thanks.
  16. even though there are hard times i got a great raise today. about $150.00 dollars a month. i turned my wifes hay burner (horse) out in the pasture. we had to put her in a stall for the winter cuz of an injury to her hoof. my wife loves her , i look at her as 1000 lbs. of meat when i move into my refridgerator box, and i don't have to shovel those little oval horse things anymore. oh happy day. :clap2: ps. really i do like horses just getting a little old to ride and train them any more. you think a bike will fold spindle and mutilate you, just train horses for awhile. i've got broken ribs and a collar bone to prove it.
  17. I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't find it. What are some good quality risers that will allow me to raise the handlebars about a 1/2" and set them back about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Thanks for any info.
  18. Some people are very bold. There is a escalating crisis in this country. I'm talking about people driving with suspended license,no insurance, and under the influence of something not to mention unsafe vehicles. It seems to be normal for people to drive everyday many crossing state lines. Construction workers, utility crews, etc drinking up the paycheck every weekend with no conscience or thought for what they do or the people on the highway at risk. We all might want to raise our uninsured coverage and just hope for the best. I know several contractors who still have help wanted signs posted. The only qualification to get a job is to have a drivers licensee for a $12 an hr job.
  19. Is there a way to access the pilot jets without removing the carbs? I'd like to try richening them up one notch. I was also going to raise the jet needles up and found that there were no adjustment grooves. Do you use washer type shims, or do you need different needles? Thanks, Gary
  20. Hi folks, "Captain Inept" here. Been farting around with these new saddlebag lower rails and I just cannot seem to get them low enough so that they follow the bottom "line" of the bags. As soon as I start to tighten them :confused24:they raise up ..... tried adjusting the mounting bars as low as possible.. still no go! Any ideas, someone MUST of ran into this before? thanks
