  1. Can anyone tell me if you have any information on adding reverse to t Royal Star Midnight Venture?
  2. So I get my LEDs, get the load resistors installed, and now the polarity of the light socket is wrong. I got no running light and a dim blinker, reverse the bulb and Ii get the dim running light. I would like to pull the wires from the plug and reverse them, I know there is a little tongue in there that won't let the terminal come out the back of the plug housing, it works much like a wire tie locking mechanism, I'm SURE there is a $85.00 tool that will pop right in there and do what I need done, I'd rather cut wire and re-solder than spend that kind of money on this. Paper clip is too big, my 1.4mm precision screw driver is too big but will slip in along side the terminal end. So If I reverse the wires (one way or the other) what will (if anything) happen at the rear blinker? I don't think anything will... I'm just askin'. Any ideas?
  3. I dropped my bike in my driveway and blew out a disc in my back trying to pick it up. Been in bed for ten days now. I am 61 and live with a few disabities... 4 bad back disc , 5 right shoulder operation and 2 knee. I am heathy .. just broken. I have watched " who to pick up your bike " on YOUTUBE and now see I did everything wrong. That is not my question.... somewhere on the forum I THINK I read if you trike a Venture there is now a "reverse kit" ???? If I can not get "reverse" I am going to have to sell and think about a Goldwing trike. I have no problem with getting a Goldwing but it would be cheaper if I could trike my Venture. I like my venture for it's stlying and dependability . Any information would be nice thank you Cb
  4. Does anyone know of a reverse gear kit for 2nd Gen RSVs?
  5. due to all the aches and pains ridding the 1st gen during the Asheville rally I decided it was time to upgrade .So yesterday I did just that.It is silver in color with CD player, navigation system, and it will run off and leave a 1st gen with ease.It also has a REVERSE gear.Pictures to come later.By the way I did have it up to 130 mph today and it had a lot left in it
  6. Just got my Rider magazine and they have an article on a Royal Star Venture with a Hannigan kit. It is good, but makes a couple of somewhat negative references like no reverse available. But, at the end of the article about information on the Venture, it is suggested to checkout Venturerider.Org. YaHoo!!!!! RandyA
  7. I got the lower steering bearing pressed on, and the bearing races in. I can start putting everything back together again. Obviously I have to pack the bearings...but other than that is there ANYTHING I should be aware of or is it pretty much just do the reverse of what I did to take it apart?
  8. "just when you start to make both ends meet -- some bugger moves the ends!":bang head: I had decided that I needed to get a trike with reverse, and also not have Quickstep laying on the ground checking the pre-load on Voyager kit for years to come. He would then take the Venture back to two wheels and ride it. Need a trike with usual bike seats, as I climb on to back seat first, then swing bad leg over tank and slide forward. Also can't have engine sticking out at side--need the room for stiff leg. So, of the bikes that come with reverse: G/Wing -[NO] BMW-[NO] both have engine sticking out. Bingo !! found the answer -- H-D Ultra Classic Trike NOPE!! Do not comply with Australian standards - too heavy :crying: Dealers have tried to get the new trike into Oz but powers that be won't budge. Was going to buy it when we came over, ride it then ship home.... Oh well, back to the drawing board
  9. Anyone here done a reverse? I'm looking into it, and thought I'd ask.
  10. With all the highly intelligent members:stickinouttounge: here I was wondering if anyone has invented a reverse gear yet for the RSV??
  11. I replaced front disc pads - and naturally, front brake lever has no resistance whatsoever now. I'm reading out here about "reverse bleeding" using a syringe or something - I take I'm supposed to remove bleeder valve, and squirt dot 3 into the opening with a syringe or something similar. Does that sound right? I'm assuming dot 3 will eventually overflow out...then what? Put bleeder valve back on and see if pressure builds up? Or try bleeding it normally? Reservoir on handlebar is full. I wanted to change out rear pads, but my saddlebag on that side does not want to come off and I don't want to force it. It's almost as if the key lock isnt working right. Doesnt seem to be enough room to pull that caliper off with saddle bag on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  12. The 05 Midnight Venture I have has been lowered. What would I need to do to reverse this and return the bike to the way it was? I was going to purchase the leveling links from DiamondR to raise the bike back up. Is there any thing else that is needed that is a must to do? Thanks.
  13. I need to find out about a Reverse Gear For A 1986 Venture Royale Trike. I am disabled in my right leg and find it really hard to back up without getting off and pushing it back.
  14. i just got a call from the head parts man at the local Yamaha dealership. he had a question that he COULD NOT answer, for a prospective customer. the question was "do the new ventures have a reverse?". can you believe that? just jt.
  15. Has anyone come up with a reverse gear yet for the RSV? I have see one that was made for HD. It looks like just an extra gear that runs the tranny backwards. http://www.dauntlessmotors.com/Mountinghardware/reverse.htm
  16. I had something happen to me today that got me a little aggrivated. Not wishing to say the wrong thing I started thinking of more politically correct ways to describe the circumstances. But, then I got confused with my terminology and could use some help here. What would be the more politically correct phrase to be used by a caucasion minority. Reverse Descrimatory Customer No Service Policy Reverse Descrimatory passive aggressive hostilility by impeding with slow motion action Reverse Descrimatory aggressive passive hostility by impeding with acclerated motion to interfer with ones progress Maybe I'll just sleep on it.
  17. Has and/or will a reverse gear help you decide on your next purchase of a touring bike? This is for men and women owners of RSTD or Venture. My wife is also a driver and has suggested that reverse would be a nice consideration for her when we're talking about 800 give or take pounds. Only the Goldwing and BMW have reverse as far as we know. Will Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, HD, and others join in and add reverse or is reverse not an issue to you owners of the big rigs?
  18. Is your speedo different? Is it KMH up top (printed) and MPH below in the LCD part? Or is it the reverse like the US model.
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290164262571&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123Was wondering if anyone knows what this is or what it does.
  20. After having gone thru all of the hair pulling and discussion of this particular parts ancestery I finally got the the brake bled!! The problem started out as a simple pad replacement which proceeded to go south at a very rapid rate and ended up in my having to take the caliper off and to the mech to replace the seals which decided that this was the time to give up the ghost. After getting the caliper back and the new pads installed and the caliper mounted, I started to bleed the brake, (right front). Now this is where the hair pulling and dicussing the caliper's ancestery began. I tried the regular way of pumping the brake handle with the bleeder screw closed with no success. Aha, I thought. I will go to the Venture site and do a search to find out how to bleed the brakes. I found and tried the reverse bleeding method, again with no success. Now this was beginning to take on all of the aspects of a 3 ring circus! So, I thought why not try the reverse bleeding method again but with a minor modification. Instead of filling a bottle and holding it up like a IV bottle, why not use a 60cc syringe which I had in my tool box. Btw, my daughter is a nurse at a local hospital and she got me a couple of these. If you are a nurse or know one, get a couple of these and keep in your tool box, they are handy as a third hand. But I digress. It worked GREAT!!!! This way you can use pressure to reverse bleed and it only took about 20 minutes to fully complete the job and have a good hard brake handle. Don H.
  21. I have read numerous posts on bleeding the clutch but none tell exactly how. My question is this: Do you just bleed it like a brake line? I saw a thing on reverse bleeding but I do not have a pump to do that with. I there another way to reverse bleed. I have bled the brakes on many different cars, bikes and even a tractor or two but never have done a clutch. Any help would be...um...helpful. Thanks
