  1. Its times like that I wish I had an air horn off of a Locomotive.
  2. Theres 2 fuse boxes. The one in the right lower fairing and one in the left side cover. The one in the right lower is the one your looking for though. Remove the outer lower fairing and it should be in there
  3. You need to check the ones on the rear fender that hold the grab bars, actually all those on both sides. Lost a couple of those on mine.
  4. I have run several tires with plugs in them. Had a ME880 once with 3 in it. Rode them till they had to be replaced due to lack of tread.
  5. Before I went to LEDs I just put in 1157's and cut off 2 of the nipples. 1 will hold it I place. You have to look at the layout to cut the right ones off.
  6. Best I can do is 2 hours. I have 2 seats. The stock seat is not completely stock. I took it apart and added a couple of layers of carpet padding. The trick as far as I can see it, is after a while to shift your weight around. Such as leaning on one cheek for a while then the other for a while then back to center.
  7. I always just take them off and point the arrows the other way when I put them back on.
  8. I heard the same thing on the headsets. I have the cheap ones and the most expensive ones. The cheap ones have a better bass response. The expensive ones are modular with a much thinner mic arm. I was looking for a way to better understand my wife at 80mph. Nothing helped.
  9. I just took my bike to the local auto paint store. He walked out with some kinda of device. Took several readings on the bike and then mixed up a qt of liquid silver. Think it cost me 50 bucks for the qt. And it was a perfect match.
  10. I have also wondered why they seem to be softer metal in general. Maybe so they stretch instead of strip. Thanks Rick.
  11. Never had any experience with those. But one thing you want is ease of use. You don't want her fumbling with a mic or something to talk. Consider a J&M with a good PTT so it does not distract her eyes from the road. And if its a CB you can talk with the rest of VR riders on channel 29 on rides.
  12. Generally grease from the bearings will wind up on the wheel and look like runs from the center out.
  13. They are the only kind I use now. Never had any problems.
  14. 25 unloaded, 35 loaded. Get the leveling link from Diamond Also http://www.ridelikeapro.com/ http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=Leveling%20Link%20Kit
  15. Your Carbtune may need to be cleaned from time to time. The reason is there is small gap in the case that will let dirt and dust in. Looking at the first pic and you can see the gap. How to clean it. First lets understand that it is IMPORTANT that you work on a flat surface and that you keep each rod and spring in its current cylinder. DO NOT MIX THEM UP. Do only 1 at a time. First you will need a small philips head screwdriver. 1. Remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the unit. 2. Carefully remove the cover 3. Carefully remove the foam filler. 4. Slide the cover down and off(says Carbtune on it). 5. Now remove one rod and spring at a time. Clean the rod with a lint free cloth and blow the cylinder out with air pressure. Now put it all back together and the rods should be moving freely again.

  17. Seems we got the word out and everybody is using it. Have run seafoam straight and the bike will barely run .But it will run. I would say dilute it with some more gas and choke it. It should run. Unless its loosened up some gunk, as already mentioned.
  18. What he said. Riding style is gonna determine pad wear. I go thru rear pads about every 7k miles or less. And those are the EBC double H sintered pads.
  19. Yep, Probably the tire as Stout said. Run your hand along the outer edge of the tread. If your feeling blocking or cupping that's the noise
  20. She's really gonna poke you when you do it with her on the back at 3 MPH
  21. Tom, if you sit on the back then someone watching the rear fender should see it drop some. I have had some tires that felt harder than others. If I remember right the Dunlops I had once seemed really hard.
  22. Don't remember how I did mine. But you will need some rim protectors. You can get those at HF also
  23. Think I paid 35 for the for the 4 bleeders and the short hose shipped.
  24. I have one of those and they work great. Got the one with legs so I feel better about crawling around under it while its up. Its a big jack stand for a big bike.
  25. I would say no also. You need to get the weight off of them
