Recent discussion in another thread has me confused as to what signal light bulbs I have on my Venture.. I had always thought these were 1156 and 1157 bulbs.. but someone suggested that 2006 and up RSV were different.. So I pulled one of the front signal light bulb from the bike and tried to figure out what it is.. and well, I'm a dummy. I don't know nuttin anymore. Looking at the base of this bulb, there are two solder points jutting out of the black base. Sticking out from the metal base are three PINS, equal distanced from one another. two of the pins are down low on the base while one is up a little more than 1/3 up the base. Is this a 1157 dual element bulb? Or is it one of them newer fangled ones? Thanks in advance.. Cheers

OK... the questions about using a Halogen 1157 brake light for a RSV have been in the messages for years but I have never seen an answer? Has anyone replaced their 1157 brake light bulb with a 50watt or 30watt Halogen 1157 bulb? The Sylvania 2357LL will be my only choice unless someone has experience to share. Well? Comments? I ordered a new 14 x 11 inch Seat pad with the " Viscoelastic molded Gell insert " as used in medical and sports applications From: http://www.amspecialtiesusa.com/gelpad.htm This is not the old standard, " Gel " material. Should be here tomorrow, and will get to testing it, and post the results. They also sell 3/4 inch Slabs of the material, for $56, if you want to redo your own seat !! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also: Another project started, ----- I ordered from www.superbrightleds.com -- ----- 2 of their LED packs. 36 bulb, 1 1/2 inch , flat , square 1157 Replacement Bulb units. P/N 1157-PCB-R36 Red Led Lamp, narrow beam, $9.95 each. On my 89, I am going to try to mount them INSIDE, the Center Reflector section, just to the left and right of the Rear Turn Signals. I will wire, Both Sections of the new 1157, To the Brake Lights. This will give me 2extra brake lights, they should be Bright. I'm not sure yet if this will work, but will give it a try. I allready put LED 1157 Replacement bulbs in the OEM Tail light, They seem to work OK, I got those bulbs at local Shucks auto parts. All this if anybody is interested, otherwise have a Beer !!

Would like to know if anybody has changed out their 1157 bulbs over to led 1157 ? Reason I'm asking is I changed out my two brake light bulbs over to Led which put out a lot more light and less draw on battery but in turn it sets off the light indicator on the dash stating I have a bad bulb. So has any body came across a Led bulb that does not set off the indicator light? I already changed my trailer over to led so now I would like to do the same for the bike. buddy

Last Night was traying to replace headlight bulb. there is no way to replace light bulb without spliting fairing. if is any other way please I NEED HELP !! As well I'm figure out front turn signal bulb is not standard dual 1157 bulb. Don't know is that on 06 and up models or that is standard on all Ventures:detective:
