A lot here use the PIAA Extreme white. They are much brighter. I use the standard Lightbar but changed the lights themselves to 4.5 inch head lights. Below is a rough idea how I did the conversion, see post 20 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7293

I would not use that as an issue to decide on a bike. Parking correctly is the trick. And I have always considered the terrain when riding. Guess that is from the old dirt bike days. Always park so you can pull out in a forward direction because these beast's (any heavy bike)are very unforgiving of mistakes.

I have it. IF its mounted to low your body may interfere when traveling north west. I like it. Its about 3 inchs wide. The magnet is just not strong enough but it comes with a mounting plate and I just used velcro on it

Yep, It goes down in the tank a ways. After I vented mine I can put in 5.75 gallons if I run for 30 miles when the count up on the fuel gauge begins because of low fuel.

Looks like you had fun. We just did do part of the 3 sisters a little while back. I like goin to Bandera and just hangin out sometimes. Seems to be a spot for bikes,,.. Wonder why ?

Put 50k miles on my 05. Had to have the rear shock replaced under warranty. I saw an 01 on ebay with 160k on it once, so they go for a while. Many 1st gens are well over 100k and since they are the same engine you can count on these V4's
