  1. I did the sandpaper rolled up in the socket and made sure the bulbs contact points were clean, no change. Guess I'll start tracing today if their are no other ideas.
  2. I thought about checking the back turn signals also and did it this morning. All the bulbs are good so I guess I will start tracing back for a loose ground wire od chafed wire.
  3. Before I start tearing into the wiring of the front turn signals I thought I would ask. My right front turn signal is not working properly. When you signal a right the indicator light blinks on and off rapidly. I checked the bulb and it is good. Switched the left bulb for the right and same action. When you look at the turn signals when you first turn the bike on you see one filiments glowing in each turn signal. When you activate the left turn signal you will see two filiments glowing with one going off and on to create the flashing signal. This filiment is a smaller brighter and above the other filiment. When you activate the right turn signal the smaller top filiment does not light up but the lower filiment (running ) blinks weakly instead. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. My son did his time in Iraq (Calvery Scout). They train them well and they know what to do. We have the best trained miltary there is and THEY know it. We will pray for his safe return.
  5. They may have grounded the can at another location with a short ground wire. This way the grounding bar attaches to the can with bolts or screws will serve as a completed ground to the can. I have seen it done but is not a safe way to ground the system.
  6. The key to getting the beast off the ground is the press down on the stand. It's not so much the pull up but the press down that lifts the bike. I found this after watching a guy who weighs 150 lb lift my old first gen with no problem. After he demonstrated several times it came easy. Level the stand, place your right foot on the stand, right hand grab the passenger rail, left hand on the handlebar, face straight ahead, press down HARD on the stand while lifting up with your right hand. The press is the key to getting the bike on the stand. It will work. Moakster
  7. Your 06 should still be im warranty. ( 5 year)
  8. Excellent thank you. I have printed off the post and am going to look at each place and check out the roads and RV sites.
  9. Thanks for all the replies. Our trip is in the early stages and it looks like were going to have a lot more time to ride than I first thought. I have looked at all the roads mentioned from Google earth and they are awesome. Thanks for the info. Moakster
  10. OK I got it backwards. Looking for info on Southeast OK to Southwest Ark. Moakster
  11. We are planning a trip to the Southeast Ark/Southwest Ok area for RV camping and take in the countryside. We have been looking all over the Internet at different roads and byways to find some scenic and fun roads to travel. Does anyone have some suggestions as to which roads are the best for motorcycling. Keep in mind my lean & speed control monitor will be riding with me. Moakster
  12. No offense but please check the VIN with your local police. For $5,500 that looks to good.
  13. Beautiful ride. I sure miss my 83. Not as pretty as your but she would RUN!!!
  14. Check your crash bar, they tend to bend a little and need straightening.
  15. With fuel pump running and the dash lights on it sure sounds like the battery is not strong enough to turn the motor over.
