  1. I laugh everytime I see that...and your right Scott Charlie is 2 servings
  2. I wont have time to do anything on mine...so it looks like I'll be doing basic stuff again. I just hope it's not a darn hot as it was last year
  3. This is just a guess....Mustang?
  4. Things are good my friend, looking forward to getting back in the saddle again. We definitely have to get another M&E going up here and get you folks out. May is gonna be busy for me with the power plant going down. But once thats done....LOOKOUT!!!
  5. Long before I had a bike with a windshield on it, you know back when I was cool I was stationed down in Mayport Florida, and got hit by quite a few of the "June Bugs" actually had one break my faceshield in half on a full faced helmet...so I too know bug guts
  6. Tony you old so and so.... The narrower Avon Venom is 130/90-16 or MT90 -16 The vendors are in the forum down almost to the bottom of the page, you should be able to find whatever your looking for there. Diamond R or Utopia are the ones most use for their backrests, Diamond R has been very good to us here. Ohio, you might be thinking of Buckeye performance, Rick H owns it and has quite a few different items for the Ventures. Hope to catch up with you soon...be safe you nut!
  7. That might be able to be arrainged, I know that I have a few others that would like me to build them one also. What would you be looking for as far as size and money spent. Steel would be cheapest and would obviously need painting. Aluminum would be a bit pricey but would be nice and light and could be polished.....the sky is the limit with me spending your money
  8. Shell Rotella T 15W 40 Thats all I use in my bikes and have for years....but you'll get other answers for sure
  9. You never know Ruffy....I have gone and done stranger things with no warning
  10. Steve, I can appreciate where your coming from, but it seems that there are so many "NEW" gadgets that come out that it's hard to follow many of them. I fell into the Irridium plugs gimmick and spent $35 on spark plugs that just made me $35 more broke. I suppose I am a doubting Thomas in the fact that many new ideas dont seem to be worth a darn. I know progress isn't made that was, but there are lots of unscroupulous p[eople that care nothing more than to part you from your money. BTW....I did like the Empirical line too
  11. I agree Don, and I dont have any room to talk as I haven't signed up yet. I think you will find that there will be a lot of last minute procrastination, but there will be a rally and it will be great. Colorado shouldn't be the benchmark, it's really about just getting together, as many as we can and share our lives with eachother for a few days. Some folks are a bit on the fence about going into Canada as they have never been there and dont know what to expect at the border. It's not a big deal, Lonna and I are over in Canada at least 10 times a year and usually more. It will happen, it will be great fun and folks will get signed up and come....I have a hunch on this.
  12. Hugs and kisses buddy
  13. Nope not me....but it does look pretty clean and with extra goodies like driver floorboards and heel toe shifter. I wonder what it will end up going for
  14. I think we have a winner with that answer
  15. Lutz, I'm not sure of the ML to Fld oz but I have always put 13.8 fluid ounces (yes as it says in the book) and haven't really had any issues with it like that. If I'm not mistaken when progessives are installed they recommend 5 inches from the top of the tube with the tubes compressed. I'll be interested in hearing from others on their experiences with it.
  16. Take one to know one Cindy
  17. Cant say that I have, but I have heard a lot about some bikes burning holes in their pistons with specialty plugs like splitfires and whatnot. I dont know how true that is but me I'll stick with the good ole NGK's and not worry about it
  18. I would agree with this statement also, all depends on how you ride and what level of comfort your looking for. I varied from 1 up and empty to 2 up and loaded, I like to play in the twisties so I usually have a stiffer suspension setting to get the performance I want. Best thing to do is go up and down in 5 to 7 lb incriments and see what works best for your riding style. The front fork are 7 lbs max if I'm not mistaken and on my G2's, the rear was 50 lbs....hope this helps out a bit
  19. Common problem Mike....no worries and you really cant fix it as the stud and post are 1 unit. Many guys I know, me included, dont have their seats bolted on, when you sit on them they aren't going to come off.
  20. I agree with Dan 100% if you go to synthetic it will start to leak from every cracked gasket that is on the bike....dont ask how I know this. I use Shell Rotella T 15-40 in my bikes, I have for years, just remember to not use any of the energy conserving oils.
  21. Chris, It sounds to me like you have a fork seal leaking, it is under the black rubber dust seal cover. It is on the inside and takes some skill to take it apart and repair it. If your not real familiar with how to do it I would say take it to someone that does it for a living. It can be a pain to do if you dont have the right tools. Some folks have removed the fork from the bike and brought the forks into a dealer and had them do it for the cost of an hours labor. Something I will mention here is when you do replace them, use Yamaha parts. Dont go with the "Never leak again" seals the factory parts for this application are the best your going to get and you dont want to screw with them again.
  22. Tweetybird.... Lonna and I talked about shooting up Thursday night after I get off of work. I know how busy these are, still recovering from last year. We can make a pig happen regardless and give you a hand on Friday before the masses show up....I'll be in touch
  23. Well I actually did mean to change out the reservoir brake fluid 1st. I didn't read into it that he had just changed the engine oil and started having problems, which it may well be that too I know that in the past few years I have seen a lot of clutch descrepancies be cured with doing the routine changing of the clutch fluid. But you may be right on the wrong engine oil
  24. I'm Befuddled....I always wanted to say that word in a sentence
  25. I have made a couple of racks that slide into the Reece style reciever hitches. If I'm not mistaken I thought that Diamond R made a rack that fits into one? Mine were made out of Stainless stell and the 2nd one that I gave to Mean Dog was out of Aluminum, which I polished.
