If you look on Yamaha's web site they do not even show a Venture in 09. Their big news is the V-Max. Surely they are not going to drop the Venture.

Lighting Up MyPalomino - Phase I
Mavrick replied to jarrejx's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey Jerry, Thanks for the update and photos.....just wondering if you could use the double sided tape to secure the wires to the bottom rail and hide them from view. You have given me some ideas that I may try this winter. That is what I love about this site.......someone is always coming up with something that is a great idea. Mike -

Very nice.....l am looking forward to seeing pictures of them mounted on the bike. Do you plan on running the wires inside the saddle bag? Mike -
My new Avon should be here this week but I have an appointment for the Dealer to change it out on Friday. They will be replacing the rear shock under warranty, so they are going to do it while they have it apart. Thanks for the offer Goose. I may give you a shout the first time I have my bike up here and get you to check the carbs. Mike

38 years on the job.....all kinds of assignments from traffic to undercover narcotics. Currently a Lieutenant with DFW Airport Police. Never a dull moments and so many rewards for helping those in need. The only regret I have ever had was the time I had to spend away from my family. I am so lucky to have a wonderful wife who picked up the slack when Dad was working so I ended up with two great kids. Daughter is a Juvenile Probation Supervisor. Texas BK XXI

I have used an IKEA sheepskin for years and it works great. I put two groments on each side and attach it with a bungie cord run under the front and behind the rear seat. I bought a black on first but it seemed to fade pretty fast. You can order them online but it is better to go in to the store because you will find different sizes and colors to chose from. http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/IkeamsSearch?storeId=12&langId=-1&catalogId=11001&searchType=product&pageNumber=-1&orderBy=score&category=%23%7EProducts&query=sheepskin Mike

I painted mine bright orange just so I would notice it if I left it on and decided to ride. I can see me doing the same thing. Mike:cop:

Larry's lift adaptor with the stand option is one of the best investments I have ever made. This is a quality product and you will only disappointed if you do not get one for your very own. Mike

Hey Kurt, It is so good to hear you are ok.....Looks like the 1st Gen took care of you as best as she could and you may have just had an angel on your shoulder. Take care of yourself and we will be praying for a speedy recovery. Mike -
I run Bubs on mine and I did not re-jet......I have not had a problem. I had it put on a dyno and it shows it to be lean at idle and a little rich at higher RPMs. The Tech that was on the dyno said he would not mess with it.

I did not re-jet when I put the bubs on my 04......I think they give the old girl a little character.......

New Owner - Best and most critical mods?
Mavrick replied to jimtxas's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey Jim. It is always great to see another Texan on a Venture!!!! Where in Texas are you located. Athens, Tx here. One of the first things I did was add more LIGHTS.....Front and Rear. It is important to be seen and Yamaha just did not get it right for a bike like the Venture. Lots of options out there for the rear so just check out some of the threads on this sight and let us know if you have questions. Next on my list was: Highway Pegs, Saddle Bag Guards and GPS....especially if your going to be taking some long trips. Let us know where your at and maybe we can get with you for some rides. Mike -
RSV lift frame adapters - improved model
Mavrick replied to Carbon_One's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just received my lift adapter from Larry. I am amazed at how well it is made. Thanks Larry for getting it to me so quick. If you need to use a jack on your 2 Gen this is something you must have.... Mike -
I am interested and waiting for additional details. Thanks for checking into this.
