  2. Ok guys here's my question, I got a stealer putting on a new warranty rear shock and got to talking about carb sync, poping and rk muffs. He's telling me I HAVE to rejet the carbs and I am looking at 300 - 350 to have it done. Pretty sure I read many post about rk muffs and NOT re jetting, so I guess I am looking for your opinions? road king muff's to rejet or not?

  5. Good Morning all, I had my 08 venture in for the first service this week and was talking to the service writer about a set of slip-ons I saw on a RSV when I bought mine in january. He was not sure of the brand but told me they were shochrome or shoguns. I have not talked to parts to get the name or price yet.Twin 1 1/2 pipes per side with good mellow tone. The queston is He told me they have to rejet the carbs and being there is no kit they have to make up their own. I thought I seen on one of threads that as long as you do not change the header pipe you do not have to rejet these V-4's. Am I being told a dealer lie or is there a chance he is telling the truth. He was not happy when I told him I would be putting the pipes on myself. I took it in for the first service but will be doing my own from now on. With the help of any of you guys if I find myself stumped on some of the maintance. Thanks for any help I can get on the slip-on problem. Richard
  6. For Christmas I got the Baron's 4-2-4 Slip-ons for my 06 RSMV. I cannot wait to get them on the bike! I also got the extreme Family Jewell attachments. Questions for all you Guru's out there......... Is the install easy? Do I need to rejet? Most of all...... Are they loud ( I hope ) or just announce my presense? Any and all information appreciated!
  7. Hello All - I just put some HD Road King pipes on my 02 venture. Do I need to rejet? Some people I spoke to say yes, others say no. How do I know for sure? These things have absolutely no baffles and are loud as heck!!! TIA.
  8. Installed a set of bubs last night. Now the question is should I rejet the carbs. A friend told me to run it 100 miles at Highway speeds and then look at the plugs, if their white in color it means she's running lean and I should rejet, if not should be OK. What do you think about that? And has anyone put on bubs and not rejetted and had zero problems?
  9. I have a 06 RSTD. I installed a set of mufflers from Barons, plugged off the AIS system, balanced the carbs. Barons said i don't have to rejet the carbs. I am still getting some popping on deceleration. Any suggestions?
  10. What's the prevailing wisdom with the RSTD and Roadhouse Sharkfin Slipons, to rejet or not to rejet? I'm hearing rejetting isn't necessary, I see folks on here that run them. Any feedback?
