Brian, Sorry we missed your company at the Stampede. We did have a successful event and we have already talked about a 2nd Stampede next year. We will get some pictures posted soon. Mavrick

Mike, We always stay at the Arlington in downtown Hot Springs. It is an old Historic Hotel that offers spa packages that are pretty reasonable. If you decide to stay in Texas stop in Athens for the Texas Stampede. We are going to have a trip to the old Steam Railroad in Palestine, a trip to the Arts and Crafts Fair in Edom, and some great routes mapped out if you just want to ride. http://www.edomfestivalofthearts.com/ http://www.athenstx.org/ Mavrick

Heart stopping moments...
Mavrick replied to Owen's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey Owen, Glad you pulled it off without getting hurt. Hang in there....You will love the Avons. Mavrick -
Thought I would post some of the activities going on around Athens on the weekend of Oct 18th. The Zip Line location does give a discount for groups. If there are enough interested I will contact them for the group rates. The Edom Festival of Arts will be something I think the ladies will really enjoy. For those who enjoy Cutting Horses there is a great show at the Fair Grounds. There is a mystery dinner theater performance that is always entertaining. If anyone needs additional information on any of these events let me know. The attachment is a pdf document and if you need a pdf reader to view it you can download one free from the web. Mavrick

Don, Glad to hear you guys are OK. I was watching the game last night on TV and it looked like IKE was still determined to cause problems. I rebuilt my fence yesterday and gotta get some limbs cut up and hauled away today so we are getting back to normal. If there is anything we can do let us know. Mavrick

Hey JB, Guess I was outside checking on the weather when you called. Everything OK here in Athens right now. I have some limbs down but no major damage right now and still have power. The major stuff is just now getting into this area. Mike

Here is a map of the Three Sisters. It is a great ride. A lot of folks stay in Leakey. Rock Springs is also a great place to stay.

If he would have been on a 2nd Gen he would have sailed over the bridge to the other side and escaped.

What a great ride we had on Saturday. Thanks to JB, Herb, and Don for the company. We kept those 1st Gens in front most of the day so Don and I did not run off and leave them. JB provided the entertainment with that Death Wobble. I have been to a lot of rodeos and have not seen many bull rides that were that good. I think everyone will enjoy Athens. There are tons of great roads to ride and plenty of entertainment. I will be putting together several routes and making copies to distribute. I am even working on getting us a Key to the City.....LOL. If anyone has any questions or I can assist you in anyway please let me know. Mavrick

JB, Let me know where you are planning on riding and I will meet up with you. I am in Athens. Mavrick

07 RSV midnight Warranty , mechanical Warranty only?
Mavrick replied to Brian D.'s topic in Watering Hole
I bought my 04 Midnight from the dealer with 4000 miles on it. It was a trade in and the bumper to bumper warranty transfered to me. I have had several items repaired under the warranty including the rear shock assembly. Mavrick -
God's Speed my Brother.....Your Tour is over and your rewards await you. Mike

My first thought would be TEXAS.........but..........that is a long way for most to travel and I think that would hurt attendance. Thinking of others my choice would be the Four Corners......Maybe Grand Junction that would give us the option of rides to the Four Corners, Grand Mesa, or even to the Salt Lake area. There is some great riding in all directions. I do have some contacts in the area that I think would help us get everything planned. I would enjoy being involved in the planning........and will make a trip up there to help if neccessary. Mavrick

I have Bubs on my 04.....I tried the Harleys but the Bubs have a little more character. They are not too loud unless you get on it. I have not re-jetted and have experienced no problems...... Mavrick

Went to my local Oriellys to purchase a replacment seal beam for my passing lamps. He did not have one that matched the 30W that came with them but said he could order one and they were priced at $30 each. I ask him if there was another one that would work. He checked his stock and came up with a Wagner 4411 Off Road Light that is a 35W. The Wagner Seal Beams were $8.99 ea. It will be interesting to see how long they last. Mavrick

I have had the Harley Road King slip ons and I now have Bub's. The Bub's are a little deeper with a little more character. No re-jetting required. Mavrick
