For some of us this life is super, but for others, if this is all there is,,,,,,,,,then what would be the need to carry on. Thank God there can be a future after this life. We will ask for endurance and peace as well as healing.

Throttle cable fitting.
Marcarl replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The pull cable goes to the far left of the carb and the return cable goes to the 'inside' of the carb. The pull cable goes to the inside of the rod with the little white plastic bushing so it doesn't rub. We can give you more help, just let us know what it is your stuck on. -

Marcarl replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Looks to me like you have a spare nut on the other side, why not use it???????? Had nothing better to say, but had to let you know I was still alive. -
Planning on a vacation the first week in August and doing a tour from Buffalo through PA. Looking for the right roads to take, nice roads to ride, places to see, people to meet, places to eat, places to stay (not for free), places to avoid. Do want to spend some time in Lancaster and area. Any ideas would be welcome. We'll leave Monday am and want to be back by Sunday pm.

Well we needed something to do and a place to ride. Heard the country was very pretty in those parts and that turned out to be the truth. Bob took us on a nice tour, although it was in a cage and we did thearten to put him on the back of Scamper. Had a wonderful time, great ride, good food and great company. Bob and Becky even came out for supper with us to Green Acres, in Fort Erie. To top it all off, I now have a much better looking saddle bag after mine dropped off two weeks ago. Thanks Bob and Becky See you soon Carl

If they don't have insurance, at least they have a truck. You could maybe take it as payback, or maybe that would be another liability.

What type of connectors are used for the CB attenna connection. I'm told that it's not the PL259 but a different one, so in order to make my meter useable for the 2nd gens I would need to convert my connections.

Darn, found me out, left all the tools, even though they looked kind of handy, but I couldn't find something else to fill the empty spaces, but who would have thought that you would miss a lousie pen, for pete's sake. Now let's make sure we're talking about the same thing: it's red, has a squiggylie clip, the top of the barrel lights up with a little button on the side, accents are gold. What I want to know is how you got this one in the first place, for it's inscribed with our logo. Well don't matter, it's here if you want it, I'll keep it just for you and your missus. It's real good to hear that all was left behind, it's the kind of folks that showed up and that we call family. Sure is a good feeling, I'm going to attend more of these functions.

Wish him our best, and we'll ask for a good recovery and patience.

Personally I haven't seen them or used them, but did hear comments on them last year, but only once, and that was positive.

Flow thru bolt for banjoe brake line fitting.
Marcarl replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
The bolt comes with 2 washers, that way it's clean when it arrives. -
Well it's good to hear that you're still working on it. Need some help? Maybe some time can be squessed out to get you from the frying pan and into the wind. Scott did an awesome job on his scoot, it really looks A-1.

Send me your addy, I've got some extras. -
Maybe this is what you said or meant: raise your hand, split the fingers between the middle and ring finger (some may have to practice a little). You now have a V with two (cylinders, forward and back) on reach side.

Wayne is not available for comment today, he's off to the north country, but last I spoke to him on this matter we are planning on Wednesday, June 18. Will have to see how this works out yet. Carl

Put a set on two years ago and was plenty happy. Put a new rear on this winter and took it off, way too much waddle, or swimming effect. Same goes for Wizard765. Put a whole new set on last week, went to Don's, 1200 km, but was thankful for a passenger. Handles no good except with a passenger, then it's better, not great, but better and could hold a nice 110km hr. These are now coming off and I'm going to put on Dunlops Elite II. Will see how it all pans out. I was happy with the Avons, so it kind of tics me off, but that's the way it goes. Others have said that 1st gens and Avons are a bad mix.

Thanks for posting all them pictures, now I think I can remember what happened when I was there.

I'm thinking that that would swifty take care of one for sure

Yes you have to loosen one or the other, mostly it's the top one seeing as you're right there anyways. I don't use a socket on mine, I've made a bar with squared end cut at an angle to gently drive the nuts around with a friendly persuader. I make them tight enough so that when you toss the handle bars to the stop, they bounce back just a little. I then make sure they are not too tight by taking it for a ride to make sure the bearings aren't holding the steering captive.

This was my second maintainance day at Don's, met Eileen last year, had trouble finding her this year, but she did show up and I gave her a big hug,,wonder, wonder, wonder, if she hugs me who else would she hug??????? oh, Don got one too, soas he wouldn't get jealous. I thought that last year was a grand day, couldn't have been better, so I was a little dissappointed when I showed up this year, it was bigger, better, better organized, more relaxed and we didn't have any trainees cooking the food... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to year 3 for me. Year one had 1 pond monster, year two had 2 of them, year three might flood the pond,,,,,,, Next year I bring my trailer with some tools and stuff. See you all then. Thanks a million you Nelsons, you're out of this world.
