  1. Parts from 83 xvz1200 still for sale. I had to shut down my used parts offer when I took my recent trip to Sturgis and out west. But, Now I'm back and I'm finished with the Mattcharva's bike rebuild project so now the parts store is back open. There are many, many good parts left and I need to wrap this project up as well . I need to move these babies and clear out the over flow of parts that run from my work area through the sunroom art studio into the house and on to the kitchen table. Most every thing has been disassmbled from the bike down to the engine and frame. Still have all the plastic body parts and most of the systems and electrical components. So, if your still looking for some parts please reply on this post and I will answer with availability and condition of part and price of part plus shipping cost. plus:2cents: Please do not respond by private message. That didn't work to well last time. Going back and forth between the thread and private messages kept me confused and clogged up private messages boxes. So step right up and tell me what you need, remember a lot of the parts are interchangable withe the XVZ1300 and later year model. If in doubt I can verify if it will work on your bike with my multi year Yamaha Parts program. It's all for a good cause, mine and Venturerider.org's. I am doing this for a few bucks but I'm not greedy and willing to share so I'm trying to offer these parts at a very reasonable cost and at the end of the day I'm gonna tally up what I've sold through this site a donate 10% off that amount to Venturerider.org and donate any remaining useable parts to the venture parts stash on the site.
  2. I'm starting to feel a little slow here. Trying to edit MY photo albums and what's in them as well as maybe add something etc.. Cannot figure this out.. What am I doing wrong?
  3. Don, Is it possible to start a private chat room where a group could discuss things like the planing for events? I know you can have a private chat with one other person, I am looking for a private chat with more than one person at a time.
  4. Freebird, Is it possible for someone to read a private meassage and it still show up on my end as "unread" in the read date field, under unconfirmed private messages? This has happened to me on at least 3 occassions and I know the person read them. Also, is a "confirmed" private message the same as a "reply" in as far as a person sent a response back to your origional private message?
  5. I think that the vast majority of you already know this but some may have not given it much thought one way or the other. I do all that I can to make sure that your private information remains private here. That is why if you email another member, the email goes through the venturerider email system so that your actual email address is never displayed here. Your private emails are not given out here by me to any individual or to any company. The only way that somebody should be able to get your email address is to ask you for it. Same with your telephone numbers. Many of us have our numbers listed here for the VR Assistance list and in our profiles. Your profiles are NOT viewable by guests, expired members or (as of today) trial members. I like to give our trial members access to all the features that I can but since pretty much anybody can sign up for a trial membership, I've decided that your member information will only be viewable by other supporting members. Even at that, you have privacy options in your UserCP so that you can hide your information to everybody or make it available only to members on your "friends list", etc. I say all of that to say this. If you are ever contacted by a ex member or guest asking you for another members email address or telephone number, please do NOT give it out. The best thing to do would be to forward the request to the member whose information is being requested and let THEM decide whether or not they wish to provide it. I do all that I can to protect our privacy here, please help me in doing so. Thanks much. Don
  6. Your Private Meassage is Full I cant send you any info
  7. Anyone have an idea about how many of our members are serving in the military? Active duty of any country that we have members in. I have something I want to do but need an estimate of the number of people we are talking about. So if you know of someone post their user name and lets see if we can get a head count. I think that I would like to include those working as private contracts that might be in "harms" way also. What I am thinking of needs to be done by December 1st, so lets get the list rolling! Thanks everyone for your help - now who's going to be first? SGN

  13. I made a run to Walmart to get some beer about a mile from my house. I was leaving the parking lot in front of the entrance and a car came flying out of the parking isle. They would have it me if I didn't lay it over. Luckily I was going slow enough it didn't see any damage except scrape up the guards. I'm ok. The worst part though is they looked back and saw me on the ground then hauled butt out of there. I got a police report but they said there wasn't anything they could do because of the private property and them not actually hitting me. Thankfully my beer is OK and still cold now that I am home. Now when I idle in neutral I can hear some "transmission" noise. If I pull the clutch it goes away. Any ideas? Is something screwed up?
  14. I am buying a used bike, and I would like to ask a few of you to respond and tell me what you think are the best companies as far as rates and service for motorcycle insurance. I am looking at the following - Progressive, Geico, and my own private homeowners. Are there others you would suggest who are specialists more than others for motorcycle riders? I am in my 60's and have no driving violations in less than 3 years.

  16. As some of you are aware, my wife had surgery yesterday and I am happy to report that all went well. First it was a bit of a struggle just finding a room. She had to stay in the recovery room a while longer than planned and would not let me visit her. Then they were suppose to get me on the way by the waiting room but they did not, and told my wife that I went home. She was ticked that I had left but in fact I was not. Finally I made it to her room, to find out she is in a recently converted recovery room that was made into a ward. (our coverage is for a Private but there is none available nor a semi private available). This room has no phone hook-ups, or TV's, so add this to the frustrations. Anyway it was a struggle at first, but I am happy to say she is recovering much better. Started out slow, and each time I left and came back she was better. Hoping that she can come home tomorrow, but Doctor says depends on if she can do the things on his short list. When I went back tonight after supper with the girls it was a major improvement. Doctor said all is well and she should be back at work in 8 weeks. I feel she is a very strong and brave women and I am very happy to report all things went well, now we have to wait out the healing. For those who were aware and sent me a PM (or Email) thank-you very much, it is appreciated. Brad
