  1. Looks kind of BBQ'd to me, looks like too much heat from somewhere. Glad it's working better for ya.
  2. Happy Birthday Lil-Bit,,, hope you can enjoy many more
  3. 1983 to 1993 are 1st gens, 83 to 85 being Mark 1 and 86 to 93 being Mark 2. 99 to present are 2nd gens,,,, and they are more or less all the same. But they are slower even though there some that are blue,,, and blue is said to be the fastest, but not as fast as brown.
  4. Ya I know, we all knew that,,, but this is different. They are planning to be in S.Ontario from next Friday to Thursday morning June 2. Now we don't mind having them around,,,, at least that's what I'm supposed to say,,,,,, but some others may like to have a go at them for a day or so. So here's the proposition: Friday afternoon and evening they'll be in our care, and anyone else that shows up,,, it is the start of Marcarl's VentureIn. so we'll have supper somewhere and then BS the evening away. Saturday they is going to join in on the VentureIn, meet lots of new folks, forget all their names and be plum wore out,,, soooooo Sunday is a day of relaxing and catching up with the time,,,,, maybe. Being that they are 12 hours ahead of us, and that they have been flying for a day or so, jet lag may be an issue. ( and they ain't spring chickens anymore) Monday,,, maybe somebody would like to take them to see some sites,,, maybe Niagara Falls or maybe Toronto, or maybe Kitchener Waterloo,,,, who knows. Tuesday,, the same as Monday, only different,,,,,,, maybe different people and other sites. Wednesday a repeat of Monday and Tuesday, just don't get them bored with repeats. Thursday, they plan on heading for Don's to get maintained properly. The idea is that they would meet with more folks than just us,,, hey,, sleep overs are great as well maybe. Offer up some suggestions, let's make it interesting for them. This will need to be approved by the boss,, of course!!!
  5. You have my prayers for your pain and healing. I know you asked for Luck, but I think some prayer will work much better. Let me know what you need done for QSL and I'll get it done,,,, no sweat,,,, Annie will be here to mess me up.
  6. Annie you afraid of getting homesick?? seeing as there will be a little part of you where ever you go? Sure is nice though,,,, still got to find a spot for our mascot!!!
  7. The best time would be about 2 hours,,,, but knowing what happens at Don's it could\will be longer,,, probably more like 3 or 4 hours. You'll need to have new seals, new sliders and fork oil, and if you want to install progressive springs while you're at it, you'll need those as well. With a couple of guys who know what they are doing, it should be very well manageable. So now you'll need some volunteers as well maybe.
  8. Thanks for posting about Todd. Todd, wish you the best, and my sympathies for you. Carl
  9. yep, that's where the thing is supposed to be, and likely is, but if he is having problems with a new battery, you best check the charging system.
  10. Nicely said, but doesn't take into account that the connectors are now 25 years old and are suffering, just a little, from metal fatigue, and so you might have this happen again shortly, as compared to 25 years. So to be save, I would solder them together.
  11. All that has been said is good,,,but you need one thing more......KEEP YOUR HEAD UP and look to where you are going. The second you look down, that's where you are heading and the feet need to help out. You learned this in your course, but kept it for distance,,,, it also works for short distance.
  12. Prayers for them for sure,,, glad you asked.
  13. Dang cop car, I'll show him what I think!!!!!!
  14. Unless things have changed, the 660 comes with a MC mount. Somehow I think that should work. And it hardwires right into the bike's audio and power systems. It also comes with a car mount that just plugs into the cigarette lighter.
  15. Some real tough happenings this year,,, Japan, Winnipeg, Mississippi, Slave lake, North Carolina, Gulf of Mexico, and lots more trouble stuff around the globe. Maybe there is a message in all this. We constantly pray for those affected.
  16. I'm not sure I'm right about this,,,, but my thinking is to hit it with all you've got. The more you hit the animal with,(not saying you should go after it) the more your weight in the contest,,,,, now we all know that the more weight usually takes the least hit, so to speak. So according to my instructors at the MC course, don't hit the brakes, roll on the throttle instead and keep it straight. Their favorite saying was: the throttle is your friend. Last year a coon run out in front of me, and that was my reaction, ran over that critter like a little bump in the road,,, I know, it's not a deer and it's only one coon, but I was pleased non the less. Glad to hear you came out of this unscathed.
  17. I know how I do mine,, but you'd best get a wrench,,,, at least until you get an idea how much 110 lbs is.
  18. Right on,,,, on the right side of that air ride thingie and just above it.
  19. good lookin' lady I'd say,,, but what's with the red sweater?
  20. I know women,,,,, heck they would just find a new excuse to do what they want,,,, in this case someone would come up with the idea that Don looked a lot like Carl from the back and you know who would be off the hook.
  21. Isn't there somebody who's looking for a good speech writer,,, you could get a high paying job at a desk somewhere. Not only well said, but well thought out, and all the issues covered, without beating around the bush. Thanks Boss!
  22. That doesn't mean that your not doing the planning!!!!!!!
  23. Too much oil in your front shocks??,,,,, depends on where the oil is,,,, you might determine that by removing the lines from the compressor to see if there is one without oil.
  24. Best hammer out the window so it won't happen again. You know how women are.
  25. I would look for a broken electrical wire to the ignition. The insulation may look alright, but the wire might be broken, thus causing a problem at times when it separates, but everything is fine when it touches. Give the wires a good pull, if the wire is broken it will come apart at the break, if the wire is good, nothing will happen.
