Yep, Comfort Inn,,,,uh Quality Inn is only $62.95 and sleeps real good, annnndddd has a lot of VentureRiders to talk to and plague.
  7. Must be a 2nd gen part,,,,,, replies are slow in coming.
  8. nah,,, wait til he pays another 12 bucks,,,, it's in him to give,,,,,,,,I'm sure,,,,,,, got to get them for all they're worth EH?
  9. When I was your age it all........ HUH? Oh wrong thread,,, sorry!
  10. That's what I thought as well, but didn't want to say anything and rain on somebody's else's parade.
  11. You need to take off the middle gear cover, to take off the stator cover, which has the shift shaft coming through it at the bottom right as you face the bike from the left side, which is the left side as you are sitting on the bike, unless you are facing the back of the bike while sitting on it, then it would be the other left side,,,,,,, anyways, the shift shaft has a knuckle on the inside of the stator cover and it needs to be in the UP position. It likes to be in the down position, but that is wrong and leads to a very hard stator cover install,, it will go on but needs a lot of help,,, if done right, the cover should slip on quite easy like.
  12. A friend of mine's son tried this,,, it worked real good on the tank,,,, but lunch the next day had a different flavour,,,, and the ice-cream also tasted like something else. It would stand to reason that the vent is there to let air in,, not out,,, so if there is a vaccum,,,, yep, something's not working.
  13. Ya,,,,but good at what?????? Sorry Don, you're not safe yet,,,,, maybe best take the day off and go for a ride!!!
  14. You got your mind in all the wrong places........ I don't know what it is,,,, but it's going to take a 2nd gen to put it on,,,, 1st gens already have all they need.
  15. Maybe time to check the oil level to make sure it's right. Personally, I wouldn't worry about a drop, that might have got caught up in the valve somehow,, but any more than that would suggest too much oil in the fork. Maybe you could put some more air in the fork, and then let it out,,, than there should not be any oil.
  16. If it sucks air when you go to fill up,,,, the vent is plugged.
  17. So what does that mean,,,, you just gonna off load it on somebody else?
  18. So how well do you know me,,,huh? I'm quite decent sometimes,,,,,,,uuuhhhh ya I think that's it.
  19. Fill it full of water,,,, then freeze it,,, should come out real nice. Word of caution though, don't put it in a food freezer,, all the food will taste like gas!!!!!!
  20. Sounds like warranty to me,,,, but then maybe just a loose plug coming from the stator,(3 wires), or maybe the plug coming from the regulator to the battery,,,, or maybe just so simple as a loose connection at the battery.
  21. Guess he hasn't met me yet eh??????
  22. what I really need is a Phillips screwdriver that doesn't strip out the screw heads, a flat screwdriver that doesn't dig out parts of ones hand, and hammer that doesn't smash everything to pieces. Ya, that's all,,,,,,, for now.
  23. You might find a bit more oil if you leave off the drain screw, and then pump a little air into it.
  24. Heel toe shifter is not the best idea for a 1st gen,,, it tends to break off the bearing in the stator cover. Sorry for the info,,, but that's what happens.
  25. Have you looked on the floor??? if you have, I guess that's not the right place to look,,, better spend your time looking elsewhere.
