  1. If I were you I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to find something that might not even be there. Run it for a week or two and then decide.
  2. Just rode Hyway 6 last night, everything was in perfect shape, no issues or potholes and didn't see any equipment, but then it WAS dark at 10pm.
  3. Wow, Jack,,,, you had her support for 45 years,,, sounds like it turned out just the way He planned it. Now you get to go on without her, that's not going to be easy, but deep knee bends help the process. One day at a time my friend, and one day you will also be blessed to meet Him face to face.
  4. Best keep your wing, I can hear it already,, all those comments you would have to read,, bad enough having a wing I would say. AND, it doesn't have any lean, so what good is it?
  5. The muffler has a hole manufactured at the inlet for drainage. You'll find one on either side, although the one might be plugged. I would suggest that you might have scraped the collector box that connects all 4 pipes. It's kind of thin material and usually the item that gets hit in this situation. You may also have loosened a connection between one of the pipes and the box.
  6. Had a nephew (6'4", 250 lbs, all muscle) ride mine. He couldn't find 1st and so decided to give the shifter a little harder push, bent the rod behind the middle gear cover, then it was really hard to shift,,,, thanks nephew! Bent the rod back to almost straight and now all is well again. Did the job just by removing the middle gear cover and the foot pegs, then carefully sticking a crow bar in the recess to bend the rod back to near normal. Will do for now, not as good as straight, it would be stronger that way, but it's ok for me.
  7. So, how about we meet at Saddlebum's for coffee about 10 am. Don't know if we should tell him or surprise him. Maybe we'll catch him sleeping:happy65:
  8. They just don't hold the road like they do in the movies,,,,,, amazing isn't it?
  9. Who allowed you into the neighbourhood?
  10. There is ONE really good use for that tape, and you mentioned it, but now I forgot which one it was.
  11. Now what you going to do with all the tape you sprayed up so nicely. Nice job, looks like it will work, at least for 20k. Thanks for the pictures and the posting.
  12. Glad you two are still able to celebrate your birthdays, hope you all had a good time and are now ready to do more labor for the next year,,,,, somebody has to pay the bill for my retirement.
  13. Hose goes on the airbox, then wiggles down through the carb bank, take some time to figure out just where, it makes a difference. Not over as far as it can go and not in the middle of the works either. The long length goes on the airbox, and the shorter end on the T. You don't need to use the clamps, as once all is in place, nothing can go anywhere. Don't drop the airbox all the way down, drop it as far as needed to sight the air tube from the right side of the bike and then bring it down a little at a time as needed. Loosen the lower faring on the right side and then use the long needle pliers to pull and guide the tube onto the T. Be ready to spend some quality time with your baby, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours to get it on.
  14. I wasn't planning on going, even Lou's invite for breakfast didn't intrigue me enough, but if it's company you want, it can be arranged. I spent the day with worse people, can't remember when, but then the memory isn't what it used to be,,, have I met you before? So where and when?
  15. Now I'm just a little miffed,,,, how am I going to recognize you without your real scoot?
  16. Just glad that everything turned out well for you two. Bad days happen, it's one of those things we brought on ourselves years ago, actually they were supposed to be all bad, but by grace we are enjoying lots of good ones in this country. Be Blessed!
  17. Glad to hear you is all Ok Mr. Andy, could have been worse. With the amount of deer hittings lately maybe the auto manufactures will look at putting deer catchers on the front of vehicles.
  18. We have to leave on Sunday, boss says I have chores to attend to.
  19. What happens if you force the throttle back with the grip. Maybe you need to clean the linkage a bit. Is there a choke valve hanging up. Are all your sliders working? One could have come apart. Try CTC carb cleaner in the tank with less than 2 bars showing. Use the spray stuff, and spray in the whole can into the gas tank. Then take it for a short ride to get the mixture into and through the bowls. Then let it idle for about 15 minutes. Shut it off for about 30 minutes, and let it idle again for about 15 minutes. Do this about 3 or four times to get fresh cleaner into the necessary areas. Process could take up to or over 8 hrs. Then take it out for a ride to clean out the rest of the mixture and fill up with fresh gas. You can also use CRC brand cleaner, it works really good as well. Both clean much better than seafoam.
  20. Just checked out the one I have,,, it don't work either, the speedo works, but the odometer doesn't move at all, so I guess I'm no help to you.
  21. Like I said, Sparkie called in sick. On the way up Wayne bike lost it's charging capabilities. So he arranged for his daughter and her boy friend to bring up a spare R\R which we thought was the problem. Turned out to be the stator instead so we couldn't fix it there. Next he got a trailer from his father-in-law and so towed it home. It made it safe and sound and all the while the 'riders' were keeping cool in air-conditioning. For Marca and I, it was a different story, we had to brave the elements and take the long way home, all through those twists and turns, over the hills and through the valleys, dealing with the effects of sunshine and wind, dodging Harleys and Hondas, passing up ice-cream stops, skirting cities, and all the time having no tail-lights, it was quite daunting and a real challenge, but we made it.

    New Home

Very Nice,,, but what happened to all the boxes??? And don't forget to move the sprinkler,,,, oh ya, Brooke knows how to that,, right Brooke?
  23. Your just in luck, I have one but need to check if it still works and to see what shape it's in. Will let you know tomorrow when I have a chance to check it out.
  24. I'd say bad gas. If it runs with the choke it would be using more gas, not less, so that kind of rules out the fuel pump as being the culprit.
  25. Just make sure that everything is clean, dry and ruffed up. Paint does not bond, and you have paint on both surfaces. Use thin layers and cover the area well. You should be good to go.
