  1. There should be an accordion shaped expansion rubber in the rear master cylinder that fills about 1\2 the reservoir, and works just fine, never have to worry whether it's too full, just fill it to the top,,,,,, now if the relief hole is plugged, you have a problem and that is not the fact that there is too much fluid, but that the air can't go anywhere.
  2. Another year older and deeper in debt. Olde St Peter don't you call him home,,,,,,,,,,, Because we all like him too much and want him to stick around a while yet. And he's quite handy to have around as well.
  3. The 2 nuts holding it in place are actually behind the collector, shoved right close to the bottom of the engine. Hard to see and find, but they are there.
  4. Never mind the u-turns, they would have got a 4 sub-division tour just to find out that Boot Hill is hidden from view, I mean, isn't Boot Hill the last place anybody would want to be?
  5. These are the ones I use and find them very comfortable. 32" inseam and a small butt.
  6. There is a spring ring part, in a groove, way down the the fork that seats into the lower triple tree that is supposed to prevent the fork from coming up any higher than flush with the top of the upper triple tree. The only way you'll get the fork to come up higher would be to remove the spring ring, and that would not be a good thing, for then the fork could slide higher on the one side side vs the other and so cause instability in the front end.
  7. :Laugh::Laugh::rotf:
  8. Bartleys, on Dundas in Woodstock, about 8:45 pm Remember, I said ABOUT, we do have a 2nd gen with us so far. Or we could find that new place out in the 'country' at Boot Hill, but I'm not sure how the ice-cream is there.
  9. So the minds want to know. Were we not good enough to visit? Was it too hot here? Was our food not up to snuff:canada: Were our roads not curvy enough:canada: Better let us know before we start feeling bad:confused:
  10. Brakes are hanging up? maybe?
  11. It's time to find out if the ice-cream is as good this year as it was last year, so I did a test run tonight and so far I'm not sure,,, sooo I'm going to do another run tomorrow, 6:30pm. Anybody want to join me?
  12. And some say that I talk too much!
  13. My son-in-law was working on moving a gravel pile the other day, when a brand new Western Star dump pulls up to the pile to dump his load. Guy is on the phone for about 20 minutes while 3 more trucks dump, and this guy just sits there,,,,,, turns out he doesn't have any idea on how to raise the box to dump it. Now who would send a guy out in a $150,000 truck and then not know how to dump it?
  14. We had fun. Didn't do no 20 min test ride ride, no sir, we went whole hog, all day, 9 to 4 and then I let Freebird ride a well broke in beast, didn't want him to experience any muffler failure or worse. He's probably right about the long legs thing, but then I don't have long legs. So now for the real comments, first the good. I think the looks are cute. The handle bars were positioned well. It was OK for comfort, something Marca and I would have to get used to, same if we bought something else. Plenty of power with about 400 to 450lbs live weight and no baggage or trailer. I would say it would handle a full load just fine, but you would have to crank the throttle a little higher. I ran about a max of 5000 rpm's, hey Marca was on-board and my head was already quite busy! It's not as smooth as the V4, but then it a V-twin, so to be expected. Brakes were good enough, but i ran out of dimes so I'm not sure if it would stop on one. It has an easy reverse,,,, squeeze clutch, go to 1st, push button and drop below 1st, release clutch and the thing backs up!!!!! The bad? It corners totally different and that would take some time to get used to. I got the feeling that I was being encouraged to get off the left side on a right hand corner, so the lean effect of 2 wheels is gone. It's really stable, especially when it's not moving, a plus for the missus. Stability on the road was good as well, it's just that we had to learn how to ride it,,, ya,, both passenger and rider have to learn it all over new, same as on 2 wheels,, only different, very different. I don't like silver, but they do make different colors. It could use more lights, but Bob has lots of those and I don't think he would miss any,, would he? I would think that if we had one for a month or so, we could get quite used to it and maybe even love it,,,,, as it was, we took B2Dad's trike out later and found it much nicer, but then it didn't vibrate as much, and it sat more like what we were used to, but we had to get used to the cornering effect there as well. We then got back on our trusty 1st gen, and we both said: WHAT WERE WE THINKING????? Hey,,, when your used to a real bike there is just nooooooo comparison!!!! Many thanks to Pioneer Motor-Sports for a day well spent and being so helpful . In the end analysis, you are going to have to find out for yourself if you like it, but a 20 minute ride won't tell the story. If you like the concept, like the stability, and the luxury that is provided then buy one and let it grow on you,,,, many folks love them, but they did have to break new ground.
  15. Guess you are are going to have to answer some questions: The carb sync tool you are showing, were all synced before you hooked it up to the bike? Which screws were you turning on? The page from your manual doesn't show up so good, so maybe we'd better start from square one to keep things simple. Take some pictures of the screws.
  16. Where's Don? I only see Eileen.
  17. You deserved it,,,,, time alone with Taters,,,,, must have been awesome.
  18. Kind of how this all came down: Monday,,, Angle held us up on the way back from Niagara Falls, said there was too much weight on the scoot or the shock was not working or something. No biggie, we were within shootin' distance from Pioneer, well shootin' maybe be stretching it a bit, but we were close. After supper it was determined that the shock was at fault, diagnosis only took about 2 hours, so not so bad. Terry's help was enlisted to try to find another one. Good hour spent to find that wasn't going to be easy, Yami don't list them no more,,,, Angle not feeling too good at this point, really he was kind of down,,,,, but then HEY, he was right among VentureRiders,,,, he need not have worried,,, well at least about his scoot. I told him that he should go pay attention to his wife and camping and the rest would figure itself out by morning. Then Bongobobny come up with the bright idea that in his garage, about 2 miles away was a shock that's available, buuuuuuttt, is still in his 84. Just go and take it out, he says. So Bob became the donner,, half the battle won so far and it was still only Monday. We all went to sleep, some here and some there. I don't know about Angle or Lori, I didn't keep an eye on them, figured they weren't going anywhere fast anyways. I was thinking (dangerous I know, but this time it worked out not so bad) that I would like to spend some time on a Spyder, so on Tuesday morning I asked Terry if I could rent one for the day,,,, his prompt response was that they don't rent Spyders.....period,,,,,,,so if I wanted to test ride one for a day all I had to do was ask,,, so I asked, and 5 minutes later, there it was,,, pretty as could be, all ready to go,,,,,,,,,,,wow!!!!!!! so Marca and I had the Spyder experience, and that would leave a perfectly good scooter sitting at Pioneer with nowhere to go and no-one to love it, so Angle and Lori got that job. When we got back, about 5 pm I got busy to con 2 more people into helping out to do the work. I did meet some reluctance, Bob thought that seeing as he was the one donating maybe he wouldn't have to do the maintenance,,,,,, well after explaining who was going to remove the shock in HIS garage, he thought it best to go along, just to keep an eye on things. So........ Bob went as the organizer tool handler, Gary (Dingy) and Ben (Saddlebum) went to be the actual surgeons. I understand they both thought to grab a nap on either side of the scoot, but Bob began throwing things at them, so much for nap time. In record time they were back,,, less than 1 hour,,,, good going guys, you almost beat us at the shop. At the shop: Angle and Carl started by getting the scoot on a lift, finding needed tools, and discovering the saddle bags could stay in place. We received lots of advice, all good, and then the help showed up, so Carl took a break. Took almost less time to do it our way, then the way they did it at Bob's. The donner needed some upgrades, hence there are pictures of Ben and Bull working in that area. Again, lots of hands went into putting things back together. I can't really say who was all in the works, but I know that Ben and Bull put in a lot of effort and know-how. It was great to be part of this operation, to watch how everybody pitched in, even if it was just for moral support or just getting in the way so that it would be easier when they left (NOT). What can I say: this was VentureRiders in action, family caring for each other, even if we didn't know what we were doing. Thanks all, for being such a great bunch to be with.
  19. The issue would be in a switch that is activated by the clutch lever, just follow the wire going to the back of the lever. The switch is held by being pushed in place, so you'll need a small screwdriver to push the keepers back to pull the switch out. Clean it, and you should be good to go. Watch out for the small spring that's in there.
  20. Good try olde boy, but if I recollect he was also in attendance!
  21. Thanks for the compliments. If this keeps up I'll need a whole site for myself, just to store my handles. As far the owner of the jeep, if you look in the previous picture, he had his back turned, so I was okie dokie for a short while.
  22. In post # 24 you indicated that you knew something about Terry's legs, so now we need to know how you came by that knowledge, or should we ask Terry?
  23. Ya, you're right, he did have shorts on, but I WILL let Saddlebum elaborate.
  24. Now I has an idea how you might have 'experienced' Michele's legs,,,, buuuuut Terry was not wearing shorts if I remember correctly,,, maybe you could elaborate.
  25. Marcarl's VentureIn will be the 25th of May. My thoughts on location is to find a Motel that can also accommodate camping, that way we all stay together. Yes, I realize that riding is important, but what I find more important is that we get to meet each other and spend time together. During the daytime we mostly ride, but during the evening we get to get in each others way and stir the pot. It would be real good to do this altogether in one place, that way nobody can blame me for ALL the ruckus. I don't think that having meals together as a whole group is paramount, except for the main meal of course.
