  1. Does anybody know what exactly Stabil does to gasoline so that it doesn't go bad? I know that it makes some bikes run a bit funny....why does this happen? Frank D.
  2. Ok folks here's the deal. Back in November I purchased a trike from Integrity cycles of Columbus Ohio. I bought it over the phone relying on the name of the business and taking their word that it was a good machine. (that was obviously my first mistake). JerryM was kind enough to go to the dealer to check it out for me. They only let him test drive in their back lot (seems suspicious) but he said it seems to be a good buy, so I sent him my card and he went and bought it for me. A few days later I flew out and JerryM was kind enough to pick me up at the airport, feed me dinner and put me up for the night. He and his family were the best part of this ordeal. Thanks again to gerry, debbie and nikki. When I left the next morning I stopped and filled up then i hit the road. After I got out of town and up to speed it seemed to run rough and not have much power. I thought maybe i had gotten some bad gas so i threw in a can of sea foam and kept going. Well after the second tank of fuel it still wasn't running right so I stopped at a dealer to have the carb synch checked out and to call Integrity cycles. Now by this time I am half way home. Frank at Integrity said i could either bring it back to have them look at it (by the time I got there they would be closing and I had to be to work the next day) or I could have my local mechanic look at it and if it needed something he would send me a check. Ok good, so I kept heading for home with the assumptiom that he was a man of his word. I took it to my mechanic and he started working on it. Well someone had removed the entire intake system and put on four k&n filters apparently without rejetting the carbs so I took the intake system off my 02 and put it on the 01. Instantly 95% more power and smoother running. Only problem with that is now the clutch is slipping. Again I call Frank at Integrity, he says no problem , have my guy fix it and he will cover the bill. Incidently while I was having the cruise, clutch and running problem fixed Frank was supposed to send the stock exhaust as it now had straight pipes and to adjust the carbs properly it needs the right amount of back pressure and incoming air. I had to buy the intake system, which Frank said he would cover the cost. The agreement was that Frank would cover the cost of fixing the cruise, the running problem (IE the intake system and adjustment) and send the stock mufflers thad never did arrive (supposedly ups lost them) so Frank said to just buy some used ones and he would cover that too. By this time I am starting to lose faith in him but he said to fax him all my receipts and he will send me a check to the tune of over $850 and I forgot to send him the receipt for the mufflers so i figured I would just eat that expense if he would just cover the bill so far. So I did as he asked back on jan 6 and still no check and he will not return my calls. Now i dont expect it to pe perfect but it should at least be able to pass the state inspection. Our agreement was that I would cover all the other problems that i found on the way home like the 18" tires that rubbed the fenders. (replacement wheels and tires $650) or the broken odometer reset buttons. (replacement speedometer used $250) or the welded shift rod ($25) or the blown rear speakers ($75) not to mention all the miscellanious nuts and bolts from yamaha and the complete rewire of the backend, and it still needs more. I dont think that it is asking too much of him to just cover the cost of making it street legal. I will cover the rest. Am I being unreasonable? Now Pam in the office there was a pleasure to deal with but obviously Frank is NOT a man of his word. He is supposed to be the man in charge but he apparently does not believe that the word integrity means anything. I think I will send him the defination. Thanks to everyone here for letting me tell my tale and hopefully anyone who goes there is VERY carefull and remember caviet emptor. If on the off chance I ever do see a check from him I will let you all know but right now I am not holding my breath. thanks again Mike
  3. Does anybody know what model Kuryakyn footpegs work good on a 1st Gen Mk II? Looking at their online catalog, there are a lot of choices. Thanks, Frank D.
  4. Does anybody know which type of grease that Yammie uses in their left rear wheel bearing? It's reasonably clear on a new bearing, so I'd suspect that it's lithium complex grease but..... Frank

    Celibacy?

What is Celibacy? Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances. While attending a Marriage Weekend, Frank and his wife Ann listened to the instructor declare, “It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.” He then addressed the men. “Can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?” Frank leaned over, touched Ann’s arm gently, and whispered, “Gold Medal-All-Purpose, isn’t it?” And thus began Frank's life of celibacy...
  7. Good Morning Everyone, I took a 300 mile run this past weekend and somehow lost both of my front seat bolts. Anybody have a quick fix for this? Or do I need to get the OEM replacements! Thanks Frank
  8. Is Jake Wilson's the best place to buy new Avons? They want $121 for a new front tire for my first Gen. Frank D.
  9. Curious about headlight modulators. Can somebody explain these to me? Do they work on high or low or both beams? Will they work with HID headlight? Do they work all the time or just when I turn them on? What does law enforcement say about their use? Frank
  10. After coming back from PIP, I want to get the padding on my seat renewed. Is this the kind of thing that Rick Butler does (first Gen)?? How do I contact him? Is there somebody else that has done a good job?? Thanks, Frank
  11. Barb and I are planning on going to Laporte MN next weekend for the Pork in the Pines Pig roast & rides. Does anybody have a list of which motels would be the best? Thank You, Frank
  12. Ive had my 88 venture about a month now, able to fix most of the minor glitches, so yesterday took it on a patriot guard mission of 400 miles, LI to Dover Delaware and back home, escorting a fallen marine L/Corporal. The bike performed well mechanically, but comfort level wasnt what i expected, i dont like the pegs, both legs were cramping after about 5 hr, right had was numb, and dont get me started on the stock seat. the seat and the hand cramps can be addressed, but does any body know if there is a footboard/ forward control rig for these bikes, thanks for listening. Frank
  13. I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere before, but I probably didn't use the correct wording when I searched ....... Do you grease the driveshaft couplings on a 89 VR like I've been doing for years on my 83? I bought a low mileage (30K) 89 and I'm getting it PM'd and ready to ride. Frank

    My Best Friend

October 17, 2007 was the day I lost my best friend Frank Hija. He was killed in an auto accident Near Port Huron, Michigan while traveling to a friends house to repair a motorcycle. He was a member of VR.Org but did not own a RSV. I have traveled many motorcycles miles with Frank and he was the best man I have ever known. He was one who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I will miss him dearly.
  15. I just want to take a minute to thank 2 of our own here, Frank Andrews and Larry Skeels (Carbon One) I posted up about my rear rotor being destoryed from brake pad failure. Frank was the 1st to respond with "I have one that you can have" send me your address. Larry PM'd me and said during the meanwhile that I was waiting for the one from Frank, that I could use the one off his Midnight as it wasn't going to be used. I went to Larry's and grabbed the rotor and the brake pads that he had. He said to use it as long as I needed it and gave me the pads. Frank had let me know that he shipped the rotor, brake pads and the caliper as he switch his bike to a trike. I offered him money to atleast cover postage, to which he responded no, he was glad to be able to help. Now dont get me wrong here, I am extremely grateful for these gentlemens generosity. But it seems weird that it happened to me. I have done and will continue to do the same thing as they have done. If I have something and dont use it, I gladly will give it to a member in exactly the same way as Larry and Frank have done for me. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you both, it sure puts back faith in the human race when your on the recieving end on of a situation like this. This place is truly a brotherhood and family that never ceases to amaze me....thanks for taking the time to listen
