  1. I can't get my grandson off mine when he visits. The darkside(ex) grand parents have the same issue
  2. My next door neighbor offered this seller $8000 and the seller said he'd take $8500. Looks like a great deal to me.
  3. I have a RSV basically the same as the RSTD only heavier. Road to Yellowstone this summer 2 up and pulling a fully and I mean fully loaded trailer(wife thought we were going for 2 months not 2 weeks). Anyways, road the the 14a scenic bypass (Horn Mountains) and Beartooth Pass with no lack of power issues. Ive been through AK on it too. You'll have no issues with the little hills there. Enjoy the POWER. ps you didn't mention a comparrison to HD but the group I was with rode HD's and the ones pulling a trailer were always falling back goin up hill.
  4. I have a 2010 Focus SEL, I must say that after driving a Taurus for 5 years I'm somewhat dissappointed with the Focus.
  5. was there on 8-16-10
  6. Just finished a 4347 mile trip (keeping up with MidRSV) from SE MI to Sturgis, Yellowstone, Beartooth and the entire area. I'm ready to find something else to ride next year. The seat sucks even with the Butler mod. It was OK for the first couple of g's but the last 1500, man was my a$$ hurting. The whine (yep had the basket switch) killed my ears. The engine noise, well what can I say, very loud, sounds very loose. The passenger seat is 6" higher than the operator so as my lovely lady said on more than one occasion " I'm getting my A$$ kicked back here" by the wind. Two positives for the RSV on this trip. 1. No mechanical trouble. 2. Plenty of power for the hills. (Went with 3 HD Ultras, 2 with trailers as was I, they either were down shifting or loosing a lot of ground when I wasn't) I don't know what I'll do. I'll have to do some research. Wing? Ultra? Or wait to see what Yamaha does with the RSV.
  7. leaving thur morning from north of toledo OH with 2 other bikes. we will be meeting another rider in davenport IA that night so that will be a total of 4 bikes. staying Hay Creek Ranch in the black hills. have fun all.
  8. I've had that same issue with a couple of models of Garmin. I think it somehow changed the language to none so it couldn't speak. Look for something like that in the menu. Jim
  9. What's that run $?
  10. Now I know why I didn't see you as I went by Oberlin yesterday. Of course I didn't see you today as I again went by Oberlin. Might also have something to do with being on the turnpike both days. From outside Detroit to Franklin, PA and back to visit the daughter and grand kids. Glad to hear you made it home safe. Even though I wasn't able to attend (stupid job) and didn't win the trailer, I'd like to offer my personal thanks for all your efforts in the International Rally. "Stupid Job" = same reason not at MD. Jim
  11. Are we talking about the splines on the hub or the ones on the shaft?
  12. I just bought this to take to Sturgis. All welded alum. with torsion axle. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-Pull-Behind-Motorcycle-Trailer-Cargo-Tow-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c13ead06eQQitemZ120593240174QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

  21. Great pics, thanks for posting
  22. I have to agree with Harry, I had a great time and the riding was awsome. The HD couple (my cousin & husband) that came with me were amazed that a "biker" would put on such an event. I told them this was not a group of "bikers" but a group of good people that enjoy motorcycle riding and eating and eating and eating and..... there's no attitudes, no Berry Bad A$$es and nothing to prove. Just good people. Although this was my first meeting with Venture Riders I've been a member for three years and it's easy to tell what kind of group this is just by the help and kindness afforded on the forums. Anyways, we really enjoyed the hospitality, people and riding and plan on returning next year as well as attending other such Ventures. Thanks again Dennis and Val, Jim
  23. I believe CarbonOne is a wingnut, Detroit Redwings that is.
  24. When I pulled mine I had to have the jack up higher than the legs of the adapter to get the tires out, no issue with balance. once times were off set it down on the legs until putting them back on.
  25. Get yourself a turkey deep frier, that's what my bud uses.
