  1. you could go here, they have an awesome tech section for wings like here for the RSV http://gl1800riders.com/forums/
  2. This is a great group. I moved to a GW and am still a paying member here.
  3. I just put mine in nuetral and push the "reverse button" then push the starter switch to back up. OOOOPPPSSS that's on my WING. One of the several things I love about the WING. (Former RSV 07 blue/black owner.)
  4. I replaced the stock fork springs with "Sonic Springs" 1.2's and it improved the ride greatly. Also changed the oil.
  5. October 4th for a knee clean up. Then follow up on the 10th with a hernia repair. Should be in good shape by April
  6. I had the same issue, I fixed it by getting an 08 Wing with adjustable levers.

    07 value

MY 07 RSV was insured for 11 g's plus another 3 in accessories. I sold it the first of June for 8500.00. It had 24,000 when I sold it with a lot of extras. I wanted it out of the garage to make room for my 08 Wing. I'm good with my selling price and the buyer got a good deal making me feel even better. I guess if I'd totaled it I could have gotten another 2500.00 but would have all that pain and bills. The wing is insured for 24,000 plus 3,000 for accessories, replacement value and costs me 360.00 a year 12 months of riding. just my .02
  8. When the temps hit 95-100 you're going to cook on any bike. We were out NE 2 weeks ago when the big hot spell rolled thru. On our 08 wing the air temp was reading 101 running 70 mph thru Scranton, PA. It was hot!!!!
  9. We just missed you. We spent the 15 & 16 in Niagara Falls ONT then the 17th in Watertown NY. On the 18th we road thru the Adirondacks including LK Placid across the ferry to Burlington VT. On the 19th we went south on 116 across 125 then south on 100 to 9 and across to 91 south. Ended up in Milford MA. The 20th we rode into Cape Cod & back out into RI. The 21st stayed in Hazelton PA. 22nd in Franklin PA visited my daughter and grandchildren. Was chop blocked by my 4 year old grandson and injured my knee. A little sore for the ride home on the 23rd and difficult getting on and off the bike but was a great trip. Of couse it would have been more enjoyable if the temps were in the low 80's instead of the high 90's. Going thru Scranton PA @ 70mph the air temp on the wing read 101deg, that was hot. Jim
  10. It looks to like the same thing you see on cages only doesn't use a hitch. I would use this just as I do the "cooler carrier" on my bike that uses the hitch. I wouldn't be too concerned about LEO of course that's me IMHO.
  11. I sold my 07 blue/black to a guy outside of Chicago but it had bag rails.
  12. Larry taking 90 to 14 thru the Big Horn Scenic bypass is beautiful. Linda and I did that last year spent the night in Cody and into Yellowstone, then out 212 Beartooth. You'll love the scenery.
  13. U R IN OhIo, it's understandable. Just kidding, thought I was talking with a co-worker. LOL
  14. Do you run with the fuel valve on RESERVE?
  15. Took an idea I saw on one of the GW sites. Purchased a Hopkins 4 pole plug and put it in the bottom trunk cover. A lot of work but it looks good is inconspicuous and should function just fine. I had a mental problem of the plug in the fender open to road debris and moisture. Here's some pics. Tomorrow I'm going to tackle the Utopia back rest. I very nervous about cutting the seat and the foam for the bar to slide through. I hope I don't pull one of these. Wish me luck. Jim
  16. Thanks Tom, I did get the Utopia and am dreading the seat cut step. I picked up a fancy mini chrome receiver type plug today and am going to look for a way to use it. Saw on one of the Wing sites someone mounted it in the bottom of the trunk. I'll be cypherin' a mounting solution. Thanks for the response, Jim
  17. If I remember correctly 1/8in per foot
  18. OK got the hitch installed but looking for some ideas on how / where to mount the plug. I would appreciate any pics or ideas. On the RSV I had it zip tied to the HD light bracket. Right now I'm thing of using one (both) of the helmet locks I don't use. Thanks, Jim
  19. I was there in 4th grade that would have been ah yes, 1967, a little overwhelming then, don't remember much.
  20. I got the same wrench magnetic plug and 10 pack of washers, but I was following the instructions in the manual. In about 3000 miles I'll try it without removing the cowl. Thanks
  21. Changed the oil on my new to me 08 Wing @ just over 2000 on the OD. What a PIA, having to remove the lower front fairing just to change the oil and is it tight down there. I'll still take the Wing over the RSV though, just for the more balanced feel. I'll be sending my seat to Rick to get the Butt Butler over this next winter I feel like I'm sliding forward or my pants are sliding backward, needs a little bit of a bucket carved out of it. There have been a couple of good reviews here and on one of the GW sites. I was pleased with the work he did on my RSV seat, just wish I was closer to TX. Just a little info and opinion. Jim
  22. you might want to try here http://www.electricalconnection.com/index3.htm for a plug & play adapter, no cutting & splicing. I used one on my 07 along with a converter and isolator. With the isolator there is no draw on the bikes lighting system, it comes direct from the battery. Jim
  23. Ordered the Rivco armrests and the bikeMP3 w/software last night. They're saying the MP3 will ship 6-24 and the arm rests 6-30. I really don't want to mess with the armrests to open the trunk and the extra well, she's worth it.
