I had the same issue with my daughters 03 Chev, she wrecked it I fixed it & had a shop paint the fender. Then for the pin stripe I took it to DR. RU, a pin striping guy up here in the Detroit area. He pulled out some rolls of pin tape from a drawer looking for a close color, then just threw them back in the same drawer closing it. Then he took three bottles of pinning paint did some mixing on a phone book, ( thats right a phone book, just rips off the used page and has a new palette) freehanded the 2-tone stripes and presto, color and sized matched perfectly, couldn't tell from the factory tape. Cost me $50.00 Long story short, there is probably someone in your area that can do the same, good luck. Jim

Current trunk is a pain in the a$$ when traveling and my tour pack is strapped on the back seat. Of course there's always the helmet issue.

New "I" basket & clutch upgrade (help)
jer878 replied to CMIKE's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I agree, if you had no problem before you should still be OK. I would get the parts back ASAP, don't want to make an enemy out of the local dealer. I'm guessing here but I reckon letting you do the swap wasn't SOP. Like you said you can easily swap the clutch spring when you get the new one. I thought I read here last week Skydoc had gotten the new ones, but I could be mistaken. -
I said it once I'll say it again and again. Vmax engine, updated electronics, side open trunk, quick release bags, lower seat 1 1/2in, :Cool_cool36:perfect bike.

I've been doing it for 16,000 miles so far. Loading it up that is. There is no grey, it a black or white issue. Full throttle or no throttle!

:thumbsup2:After I put the "BUB's" on i had a tendency of slipping the clutch to put a load on the engine and get the deep power sound. Noticed some slipping and thought to myself I should probably stop that sh**. Got rid of the BUB's still some slipping when cold. Aside from one synthetic change I always used yamahalube. I order the PCW clutch kit wit ht all new plates and will be putting it on in the next couple of weeks. Will check the steel at that time and report back to the forum.

I'm not familiar with that bike I ride a RSV, but I'm sure someone is. PLEASE add your bike / year to your ID where it has guest member if you can. Better yet fork up the $12 bucks a be a member, you'll never find a better bunch of folks. Not that you have to be a member to get answers, but the best $12 I've ever spent.

what bike do you have?

I've heard people being called " A$$ Face" so some people might not be clear on the cheeks still. LOL

GORGEOUS

I agree with you Mordalo, as I've posted in other threads. A few small changes and the RSV would be unreachable. Change the motor to the Vmax with fuel injection. update the electronics / audio change the truck to open side to side (harley style) quick release bags (harley again) redesign the seat - an inch or so lower The best part is, it could all be done with no major engineering work.
-
Make the RSV perfect. Use the Vmax fuel injected motor. Retune the seat Update the electronics / audio system from the 90's to the 21st century Quick release bags(ie Harley) Side open trunk(ie Harley) IMHO

"I have a pathetic 720 miles on my New 09' Venture( purchased on April Fools Day 2010) as of today. I was running around doing errands & stuff. The Radio, CD player, cuts out while riding, sitting at a light, scratching my butt, it doesn't matter. Sometimes with the engine not running, it plays just fine. " I had the same issue. Turns out the assembly / prep guy reversed the antennas. had the CB on the radio and the radio on the CB. Since the antennas are put on at prep check to see if the CB (the one with the black thingy in the middle) is on the right.

My 2009 RSV and Whine

I had a very loud "chirp" when I bought my 07 new. Took it to the dealer and of course he gave me a copy of the TSB regarding the "chirp". I told him I understood I could expect so "chirp" but this was very loud and annoying. He said bring it in, we'll check it for you. I dropped it off and he called the next day, stated in his opinion the "chirp" was excessive and he would contact the regional Yamaha rep and "try" to get a new gear set. I picked the bike up that day at which time he told me he would call "if" he gat approval to replace the gears. Called me the next day, received approval for replacement, said it would take a week or 2 to find a good set called the next week, took the bike in, picked it up the next day. "Chirp" is about 25% of what it was and tolerable. As stated earlier in this post it's at the same RPM in every gear. but no sound @ 100MPH -
Just read her profile - man hater. There's nothing any of us could do to change her opinions, IMHO

I ride at least once a week March - November and don't do any tending or charging. I put my 07 up the first week of November and pull the battery. I store the battery in the family room behind the couch and charge it once month or so. Pull the 07 out of storage first week of March, put the battery in and bingo, starts right up. No tender needed. I have friends that "tender" their batteries during the winter so they can fire right up if a nice day comes along but I store mine so I can park my cage in the garage and not scrape my windows all winter.
