  1. I started another thread so if any one had downloaded prior versions they would see the update. With help from Ozlander I believe that this is about as good as I can get this schematic. I have added the internal wiring on relays & rectifier. Added coil resistance on relays, generator & ignition coils. Added ignition coil #'s and location on bike. Added bulb p/n's. Cleaned up the wiring in handle bar switch area some more. Overall I have eliminated as many wire crosses as I can. Electrically, this matches what is in the owners manual. I didn't show internal wiring for flasher relay as it is fairly complex, not just a standard flasher. This looks best at 11" x 17" size. Office Max or Staples can print in color at that size for about a dollar. Dingy
  2. Can't figure out how to post to the restaurant section. Could this be made easier, maybe more would post there? NM is near me and NOONE has added anything. I know 2 excellent eateries.
  3. Seems most of you changed your oil at the same time you added the MotorKote (is that correct)??? My oil is not due to be changed...it's synthetic....and I don't want to fork out the bucks to change it just yet. Has anyone added the MotorKote to the oil that's in the bike without changing it? Would this be ok to do or not recommended??
  4. Thanks to "Ponch" for making a 400+mile round trip from Houston to Blanco I think I can now be seen from the rear....MAYBE. Again, Thanks Ponch! This is my first time posting on you tube so it may not be that good but you will get the idea. Tom ..OK added Pictures as some requested. In first photo, the LEDS are from CycleGadgets.com ,the Bracket was made and machined by our very own "Ponch". (Handicap Tag by State of Texas, for Debby, however I may need it one day!) Second pic shows the ChromeGlow light bar,$29.95,3 functions, running lts, brake lights and turn signals. Both units come with what you need to install. The saddlebag Rail lights are from DiamonRaccessorries.and the tailight from Custom Dynamics. Hope this helps out. It definitely looks better in real time and at night it is AWESOME! 5. After reading this post, (Does this mean we've made the big-time?) I thought about all the discounts and stuff that some companies and such give if your in a club or organization. I've seen the list of companies that do give us a discount and I appreciate that they do that for us. There has been a couple time where I was asked if I was a member of a group and I said yes. But Venturerider was not on their list. We have more members that a lot of the groups on the lists. Just wondering what they have done to get themselves on those lists. Is there anything I can do to get US added to those lists? Thanks, Bill
  6. Hey all added more photos in to my gallery check out http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1773
  7. This weekend I discovered the rubber gourmet had wore out and let the screw pull through. The battery cover (or fake gas tank cover) flipped up and hit me in the face. This is Not a good thing going down the highway at 75 mph. Luckily I caught mine and got stopped with no danage. Make sure you check this and add a washer to prevent this from happening to you. I added a dime size washer tio mine to keep it down at high speeds..... Here the pics. 1 pic is the rubber gourmet 2 pic is the washer added to the screw 3 pic is everything put together. 4 pic is closer shot of everything.
  8. been working on this for a couple of weeks..........i added gauges where the cassette was...still kept the mp3 jack...........just did a test run....wadda ya think.......
  9. I just added a Drivers backrest from Diamond R, and Headlight and driving light covers.
  10. ---- HANNIGAN ------ Should be Done Next Tuesday! Still needs the rake kit added. Chrome Fender tips still need to be added. I am so very impressed with this kit so far very well designed. Found out they do not even use your main drive at all they do have to send the old one back for a core charge. And the color match turned out perfect I was so worried about that part as nobody has been able to match the MM colors very well in the past for me. Here are a few pics , enjoy.... 11. OK folks, I've added a couple of new features to the forum. Some of you may find them helpful. There was a request for a place to view the most popular threads over the past 7 days or so. If you are away from the site for a few days and want to see the most popular of what you have missed, there is now a way to do it. If you scroll to the bottom of the forum home page, there is a new section that shows the "Hottest" threads. If you click on the drop down menu that says "View More" in that section, you will get a more complete list. I have also added a new feature to the search menu. You will find a link there that will bring up your latest posts and/or threads that you started. This will make it easier to find a question that you have posted and/or a post that you have added. That's about it for me today. I'm at another hotel and the Internet service is awful. I will check out of here tomorrow morning and try to find one with better Internet.
  12. I just Installed my new chrome wheels and tires on the trailer,I also made a cover for my spare tire from some diamond plate I had in the garage.I also added a rt.66 sign to the old cooler just for looks.Jerry M
  13. Has anyone ever adapted a 2 1/2 ton car jack to use on there bike. Kind of seems like it could work if some out riggers were added for balance and a small mod to the lift adapter.:lightbulb:
  14. After 3 days of 40F temps I am no longer ice bound!! Took the scoot out on the road today and nailed down a solid 4 hour ride. The seat mod that Rick Butler did is just PERFECT and added to my extreme pleasure. Boomer.....with a grin from ear to ear. Note to Mother Nature: Pfffffffffffttttttttttt and in yer ear!
  15. Has anyone had any problems with their freeze plugs coming out? I have and 05 RSV with 56000 miles on it and got home from work and noticed some coolant on the carport. Chased it down to the source and found the right rear freeze plug leaking. Pushed it back in and added some antifreeze and cranked it up and watched as the plug blew all the way out. Does anyone know the secret to getting them to stay in? Or I just need to get new ones.
  16. Just updated my XM subscription and asked a few questions concerning the XM/Sirius merger . They have now started to introducing "The Best of Sirius" on XM . Not all the channels are what some of you would want to hear right now , Howard Stern , PlayBoy , Martha Stewart , but at least they added NASCAR and NFL . Hey it's a start ! Other subscription tiers are in the works . I have went ahead and paid a years subscription of $186.89 + my XM weather for my Zumo for the XM + BOS . I was under the impression that any additional receiver would be somewhere around $6-7 + change a month . NOT ! $10.+change per "YEAR" for any additional receiver , whether it be an an XM or Sirius receiver !!!!! However the added Sirius channels aren't numerous at this time , at least it's a start as more channels to added later . Now from what XM told me , the same shall apply to Sirius subscribers . But they will be getting "The Best of XM" to start . So since my free Sirius radio subscription out of my new truck has expired , I just might take advantage of the $10.+change a year additional receiver charge . Though my truck sit pretty in the driveway most of the time ! :hihi: Just thought I would spread the news that something is happening in the XM/Sirius merger . BEER30
  17. As the pics show, you can fit a wider tire then the I put on. This is a BFGoodrich T/A Radial 155/80R15. There is a good 1/2 inch of clearance between the tire and driveshaft. If I ever wear this tire out, I will go wider. ADDED : If you have a sidecar or a Voyager Kit, this is a must do mod. ADDED EVEN MORE : Current mileage is 74265
  18. i was just wondering if anyone change out the cpu and added the 2nd hard drive? im looking at a upgrade
  19. Hi All, As I posted earlier, I work night shift and as I was comming home from work I was almost rearended by a Ford F250 while I waited for a light to change. It got me to thinking how could I make myself more visible for other drivers. I started to work changing all of my lighting to LED's. I also added some more lights. Because of the electronic flashers the first gens. have, I had to add Load Resistors to the 4 turn signal lights to get them to flash properly. I changed all of the 1157, 1156, and 194 bulbs to LED's and added 2 LED light bars to the rear as well as a blue dot tail light lens. the Load Resistors get really hot so I mounted them on metal brackets to isolate them from the plastic of the bike. I have enclosed pics of the upgrade, If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. Ride Safe and Bee Seen, Earl and Jean.
  20. Well we got er done thanks to Larry (Carbon One) and Denden Check pic's out and see what ya think. I added Passing lamps, rear harley light, luggage rack, highway pegs and hard wired the GPS and XM radio and back rest and tank bib. Joe
  21. One of my biggest concerns has always been that somebody posts a message and nobody responds at all. We get so many posts that it is easy for a new post to get pushed down the list pretty quickly and never get noticed. Most of our long time members understand that it can happen but for a new member especially, I just don't want them to feel unwelcome or ignored. So, I've added a new feature to the forum and if some of you can use it every once in a while, it would be helpful. Under the "Search" link in the top menu bar, there is now a link called "Unanswered Threads". Click on that and it will show you a list of new threads that nobody ever responded to. If you see one that is more than a day old, it would be nice to offer some type of response. Even if it's just something like, "Sorry, I don't know the answer but hopefully somebody will jump in soon with some help". At least they know that they are not being ignored AND it will bump it up again so that maybe somebody else will see it.
  22. Don't know if there's a way around it but since Ebay has redone their security I don't think we are going to be able to tell if we are bidding against one another on an item. Don added that field but then ebay now blanks out the middle of the bidders name. So no hard feelings if you get outbid by someone here. Don did try.
  23. At the start of a thread, there is a date but on each of the contributor's messages to the thread there is no date, hence if I am scrolling a thread, I have no idea if the latest entry is yesterday or a month ago. Same with any entry (other than latest) if I want to quote someone and respond. CAn dates be added to each contributor to a thread to let us know how recent the entries are? Thanks, Marv.
  24. Here is a short list of the parts I will be needing to my ride back to snuff. Front Fairing, inner and outer. Rt Lower Fairing Rt saddlebag, complete Trunk W/lid RR speaker cover, goes on trunk Rt saddlebag Trim Rail RT air box cover RT mirror And something I've added Stock winshield I would like these in good to new condition if possible so they wont have to be painted. Thanks for the help.
  25. Well after my odyssey of 3,000 miles in 4 days after I picked up my 04 Venture last week I was very impressed with the comfort offered by this bike. Well now I've added handling as well. Thanks to all those members who have provided us newbies with all the necessary info on this site to help us get the best out of our bikes and enjoy the riding experience. I took your advice and ditched the Brickstones and fitted Avon Venoms with the narrow tyre at the front. Also, being a bit of a short a$$ I lowered the front end 1 inch. As well as comfort I now have a bike that also handles. An added benefit of pulling the front end apart was finding two hornets nests that needed cleaning out. One in the fairing and one in the throttle housing. Maybe thats why some of you guys have the chirp. Last of all I ditched the oil and oil filter and replaced with Mobil 1 10-50. I'm sure its running quieter now. Thanks to everyone here.
