  1. We put an assortment of build pictures of the bike to trike project in a photobucket album. They can be seen at http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc381/vicco2763/ I'll also put a few of the basic pictures in our gallery in here. When I have the time and figure out how to do it. lol
  2. I have a oil leak on the right rear cylinder head where the carb boot ataches to the head. Aperently the bolt hole for the boot goes through to a oil gallery and the oil is leaking around the threads and running down the side of my engine. I have tried thread sealer on the bolt and pipe sealer but it still leaks. Even tried gasket cement with no luck. My next thought is to epoxy a set screw in the bottom of the hole but I am a little concerned about blocking the oil gallery. Any other suggestions on what to do?
  3. Hope this is the correct place to ask this. Thought I was computer literate, turns out I'm just a dumb a**. I posted to my Album and want to transfer to the Gallery. How? My Dad used to say the only dumb question is the one that is not asked. Hope you agree.
  4. I came across this information while looking for other stuff and I have never heard this procedure or tool mentioned in regards to carb sync. Can anyone comment on this? The later models of Yamaha (1982 & newer) use a YICS ( Yamaha Induction Control System) which is basically a vacuum balancing system in the intake manifold. A gallery is located just below the intake passages connecting all four intakes together via small air passages (approx. 1/8" ) the gallery itself is approx. 3/8" in diameter and 16" long on the 1100's. ( one of these days I'll convert to metric )To balance the carbs and set the idle mixtures properly the YICS must be rendered deactive so a true vacuum can be established. A special tool is required to seal the YICS passages while this adjusting is going on. The tool incorporates three rubber hose sections to act as seals, they are located in such a way as to isolate the passages from each other. To use just remove the gallery plug, it's located on the left side of the engine just below the carburetor inlets, should be 12mm. Slide the tool all the way in until the fender washer come in contact with the tube. Now while holding the bent part of the treaded rod tighten the wing nut till firm. Hook up your gauges or carb sticks. Start the engine and allow to warm up. It is normal for the engine to idle slower than normal so you may have to increase the idle speed to 1000 - 1200 rpm. Now proceed to adjust the idle mixture on each carb for maximum rpm. should be approx. 1- 1/2 turns out. Sync. the carbs for even intake vacuum balance. Shut down and remove the gauges & YICS tool tighten the gallery plug to 100 inch pounds ( firm but not gorilla ) reset the idle speed and your finished!! How it works, tightening the wing nut squashed the rubber hose sections and causes them to grow in diameter sealing against the gallery walls. the section closest to the wing nut is positioned directly under the #1 cylinder passage sealing this on from #2,3&4 the second seal is set between #2&3 isolating these two and the end seal is between #3&4 so intake vacuum is now independent and not shared by the other cylinders. BTW the YICS system helps the cold start back fire that the non-Yics machines are prone to. You can achieve similar results on the older machines by connecting the carbs together. just get some rubber gas line and two tee connectors remove the rubber plugs from the balance tubes and hook the four carbs together using the tees on #2&3 and the rubber hose. You'll notice a slightly faster and smoother idle.
  5. Hey all added more photos in to my gallery check out http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1773

  7. How do you add picture to your gallery?
  8. I bought my blue/black 07 RSV just after xmas last year from Valley Cycles in Winchester Virginia. It was one year old with 10,5K miles on it and just loaded with accessories. Well this morning I was viewing the member gallery pictures of DREBBIN in the forum and OMG there was my RSV, the fog lights, flander's bars, steel braided lines, passing lights, back rest, single toe shifter, luggage rack and black light bar on the trunk. All the salesman ever said was the bike was purchased there and that the owner sold it back to them to buy his wife a new car. Thanks Venturerider org it sure is nice to find a little history about my RSV!
  9. I loaded about 140 pictures of Asheville from my camera to my computer. Where would be the best place to put them to share on here? And how would I do it. I know how to attach to a post, but I do not have a gallery. I looked at photobucket, but did not take the time to try to figure it out. RandyA
  10. Don, you at one time had put a link in a member's gallery to view the public profile. With all the recent changes, it seems to have disappeared. Would you please add that back in? I really liked that feature.
  11. Hey all, thought I'd send a big hello to everyone back down south. I've been sent north for the next couple weeks for work, and thought some of you may find it interesting seeing what the extreme northern communities of Canada are like. I'll add photos to my gallery, when I can, and I'll try to update the post at least weekly. I'm currently in Iqaluit, NU, on Baffin Island. Current weather conditions are: -29 °F A few cloudsFeels like :-58 °FRelative humidity :60%Wind :26 km/h NW
  12. Don, have you given any more thought to putting a link to a member's profile straight from their photo gallery? I still think this would be really nice.
  13. Communicating over the 'net has certainly proven to be a really good method to get to know a person without really knowing them and more specifically, without knowing what they look like. I'm sure each of us has had a time when they've met someone and instantly either liked them or disliked them within the first 5 seconds. That's a strange phenomena. Then, after communicating with that person for a while, especially the one they didn't like... ya found the person was really quite nice. I know for a lot of you, you've met each other or at least seen a pic (as I have from viewing pics posted here). For many of us though, we have no idea of what everyone looks like so I thought it might be interesting to have a place on this site where we can post pics of our selves (other than our pic gallery). More like a common place where we can see everyone. Any thoughts/input on this...maybe we have this already and I just haven't found it? Maybe Freebird can create a "Picture Gallery" for this?
  14. See photo gallery for santas backrest. tew47
  15. :322:Look in my Photo Gallery for my new backrest. Cost---$40!!! tew47
  16. Just in case anybody is looking for a D.I.Y. 4 cylinder carburetor synchronizer, I made one the other day and it worked great. I filled it with some trans fluid and it was VERY sensitive and worked great. I put some pics of it in my gallery. The pics might be enough to tell ya how I did it. But if you have any questions, I can give ya all the details.
  17. How do I post a picture from someone's gallery in a post. I don't see the URL to embed it in the post. The one in the address bar doesn't work for that.
