I modified my mufflers today by cutting the inner tube as described by previous posts and not loud enough for me. Can notice a little difference while accellerating but cruising not much. Was hooping for a little more sound to try and hide the annoying whine I get from the engine. I am thinking a Rk pipes are in order.

Trouble getting triple tree back on
wrenchrob replied to CantWin1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I lowered my 2005 1 inch. It definately made a differeince in low speed handling. I have room to go further as I have the risers on my bars but was concerned about lowering further and possibly causing poor handling if I went to far or fender bottoming out over large bumps. i would like to loose as much top heavyness as possible. -

Trouble getting triple tree back on
wrenchrob replied to CantWin1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have only lowered 2 of them and the triple tree lined right up with no problems. After tightening the lower clamps the top slid right over. Except on my 2003 which the upper tubes are bent slightly(looking for new forks). Did you have the front wheel on or off prior or after moving the forks? -
Speedo Calibration???
wrenchrob replied to 86venturejay's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The odometer will be reading km not miles unless there is a way to transfer the gearing in the speedo head from your original miles one -
I am a mechanic for a Ford dealership and the MKX has been a really good vehicle in regards to customer problems. Is the one your looking at euipped with the "my Touch" screen? There has been mixed reviews with this screen. Some people think its great and others find it to confusing and hard to use.
