    I had a spare windshield laying around and being so hot outside the other day i decided to shorten it. First off I clamped it to my other windshield 5 inches lower with vice grips and masking tape underneath to prevent scratching.Than I contemplated on how to cut the windshield down without making a mess of it and decided on trying the router. I used a router bit with a bearing on it and set the depth just enough to cut through the one shield and not touch the other. It worked quite well. Surpriseingly it cut the plastic like butter and left a fairly smooth finish. It required just a lite sanding with 220 sandpaper to give the edge a smooth eye appealing finish. After mounting it I realized that the windshield is not quite as wide so there is a small space on either side. This doesnt bother me though. After I was complete I had to try it out. The extra wind is nice, I dont hear the clutch basket whine as much, the bugs now it my face, and there is some wind buffetting around my ears. All in all I am happy with the results. I will be putting my tall one back on in the fall.

    I work for a Ford dealer and recently we have had a few 2010 Eacapes with the same concern. Debris from compressor failing and pretty much requires the entire system replaced. I dont know about how it Ford treats it customers in the USA but here n my area we would be able to get you assistance with the repairs if you were going through our dealership. Ask the dealer for the customer assistance toll free nimber, explain your situation, tell them you love your FORD, the dealer is great and you are going to continue buying FORD vehicles. Thats what they like to hear whether you feel that way or not.

    mine I got from the motorcycle recyclers locally. He said they were off an 1100 but not sure what year. Everything went well replacing them except I had to relocate (drill) a new hole for the throttle mounting dowel. There is a small dowel that goes into the bars to help prevent the mount from rotating.

    So with this extremely hot weather we are having here I am in need of a new helmet. My current helmet does not have enough ventilation and my head is overheating trying to ride. Any suggeations on the coolest (temperature rated not appearence) helmet would be appreciated. I am looking for a 3/4 with a flip up clear screen. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Rob

    I did not like them with the stock bars. Felt a little cramped. I put on a Vstar set of bars that are a little wider and further to reach and really like this set up. I am only 5 11 so I can just imagine you would feel really cramped.

    That will work> Looks good! Just added some vinyl stickers to my RV trailer to hide a couple inperfections. There is always more than one way to fix a problem. Repair it or hide it !

    Transaction went well. Dwight got his eyebrows which took alot longer to ship than I would have thought but anyways he got them and dwight mailed me cash with an extra tip! What a great guy to deal with!

    I may hsve another set. I know there is a set on the saddlebags of the 2003 MRSV that I am resureccting. I dont know the condition of them as im at work. They were previously installed there by someone else. PM me if you need them. There yours for the cost of shipping. It cost 4.75 for packaging and shipping for the set I sent to Dwight last Thursday.

    Dont worry about mileage on a Venture that has been maintained. Ive seen a more than one with 300 000 miles on them. These engines are awesome for durability. Personally if i were you I would look for on that soes not have the typica;l "whine" that is louder on som;e than the others. My 05 kind of drives me nuts. My 03 is not to bad.
