  1. Good thinking. you are on your way.
  2. we all hate to see someone sell their scooter. but we understand what's got to be done - has to be done. in the near future if you are better after the mend, you can get another scooter and pick up where u left off. good luck with all.
  3. you will get several opinions here as well. i am not bothered by mixing. I am not bothered by having a new front and not new back tire or vice ee verse ee. some folks don't mix. some folks change both tires when one tire needs it.
  4. i agree on the way that vulcan is setup. it looks great. and unique. ditto on how the background sets it off so nicely.
  5. now we know where you kept some of your marbles!!!
  6. it is nice when things work out. especially when it was a real brain buster.
  7. looks like they moved right in and made themselves comfortable.

  10. there is a back pak kind of rig that goes in the front. kind of like an arm sling that would work.
  11. that would be my thinking. there is the service manual in the library. i would look, but mine is printed in the shop and my flash drive is missing.
  12. looks like enough weight on the back to balance it out. now about the folks rolling around on the inside, well, that's a different story alltogether.
  13. I, too have been following this thread as well as the others. In any business, you track stuff for trends in hopes of being able to make a decision to a better future. I see the Metz tires running somewhere around 50 -50 on like and dislike. the avon fans seem to run higher than that on the "like them" side. the E3 fans seem to run close to avon but edge out a bit higher for the "like them" due to avons cracking issues lately. this is why i have an E3 on my rear tire (which i like better than the D404 that went flat) and plan on using an E3 for the front when the D404 wears out. this is just me and how i see it. i really like how everyone puts out there evaluations of their tires. it does keep us safe in the long run. thank you, one and all.
  14. ya gotta keep stuff like that organized or it can be chaos. i believe you came close. can't do this till you find that thing for that. so on and so on. like when you can't do something in the kitchen cause you need your glasses. so you go into the living room to get the glasses and find the paper you were gonna throw away and see an article you wanted to read that reminds you that you wanted to put those clothes in the dryer so you go to the utility room and do that but you have to make room in the dresser so you pull a couple drawers out to do that but can't see cause you need your glasses and then your remember you have something in the kitchen but can't remember just what it was, so you head that way and - - - -
  15. yep. getting on the road after a maint list is done is so gratifying. and that "new" feeling from the throttle. way to go.
  16. very nice, very very nice. looks super. it feels good to get stuff done and then go for a ride. it is hard to describe that. it is nice knocking out a list of stuff.
  17. I have the dunlop 404 type on the front and a new dunlop E3 on the rear. while the brand is the same, the tires is different. i haven't been able to tell a difference. the rear was changed due to a rivet that caused a slow leak. when the front wears down enough, i will swap it for an e3. so far so good.
  18. that sissy bar ROCKS!
  19. i think the really suck part of that is when u r expectin what u ordered and have that "All Right" hoorah in your head. then u open the package and deflation happens. then the "process" begins to make things right. sort of takes the fun out of the purchase and expectation experience.
  20. Freebird, where did you order which clamps from?
  21. there are many people in the world with different levels of knowledge. maybe he doesn't know what he is talking about and his add doesn't help. contact him and find out. i didn't know about shifter linkage until Squidley showed me. now i know. could be a scam, they are out there. nice bike, though.

    Near hit

how many guardian bells are on your bike?
  23. I do like our scooter, and while i want to take care of it, i don't spoon it. if i must show extra TLC, that's only so the scooter is reliable whilest traveling down the road at high speeds and then getting us back home again. my wife does accuse me of spending to much time looking for stuff to buy to put on it. TLC = Tender Loving Care.
  24. i can't figure out what makes my 04 RSV blinkers self cancel. sometimes they self cancel and sometimes they don't. If it is distance based, my scooter is really messed up cause i turn on blinkers about the same distance all the time and there is not much effect on operation. there are exceptions to my stop and then turn distance, but we all know that. for the most part is what i am referring to. if it is speed based, that makes sense to me as I make quick stops, slow long stops and the stops in between. the blinker goes on at any time at any of those speeds. then after the turn, sometimes self cancel and sometimes manual. I just make it a point to check them after a turn when i am safe to look at the dash. I have no problem seeing them in the daylight. they are sometimes a bit tough to see. I have become accustomed to this routine so it is no problem. lane changes are all manual. i do try to signal so traffic has time to see as long as they are watching. I have begun using hand signal more lately and i get a better response from traffic.
  25. I looked up high and what did i see
