  1. I'm guessing that the pickups mounted in the pick guard makes it cheaper because it requires less work and and the cavity routing would not have to be as precise. You should get better tonal quality and sustain from the configuration that you chose. But that's not why i stopped by Is there anybody in the Myrtle Beach area that can suggest a good music instrument store. I have found Andy Owings and Star Music and everybody has been helpful and nice, but everything is so new. I'm looking fro one of those places where you might find a hidden gem piled under stuff in a corner. I've been here since september and I'm really missing Buzzo's in Geneseo, NY.
  2. oops...sorry. thanks for fixing that fore Bryan.

  4. We're in Myrtle Beach right now. The girlfriend already has the apartment and an established job here. Not sure what I'm looking for right now, but I have some time to look. As hard as it was to sell the bike, I'm glad it got a good home. I had several thousand mostly trouble free miles on it and never got caught up on fixing the damaged plastic left over from the guy I bought it from. I'm really happy I found somebody who was interested in taking up the challenge. There would have been tears if I'd had to part it out.
  5. I know, I haven't been on in awhile, but wanted to say "hi". Was waiting for my company to implode and finally got my permanent lay off date and held them to it. The girlfriend is happy because I was finally able to move because of the lay off. Just need to settle in to the new apartment , which we can't move into until the end of September. Had to sell the bike for some buffer zone money, but will be keeping my eyes open once I find a job or two. Figured I should pop in and let people know i was still around. Been in South Carolina for about 2 weeks now and really like it so far, still feel a little geographically lost, but half the fun is exploring.
  6. That's the thing...if there is a mend, I'm looking at 3 to four months recovery with close to no use of the arm, as I am right handed, it's complicated to begin with. Given the givens, I need cash in hand to move. And my wonderful girlfriend has been more than patient, so giving up the bike for now will help further that goal. And every time I see one of those Can-Ams, I am oddly drawn to it....we'll see.
  7. Here's a bit of an update for those who might remember me. Last year about this time I ruptured a bicep tendon in my left arm at work. Due to surgery and recovery, there was no riding allowed for me. This year I am having trouble with my right shoulder. My family doctor says it was probably caused by compensating for the other arm...the worker's comp people don't see it that way. So, the constant pain in my shoulder coupled with my very patient girlfriend becoming less patient about me being in NY while she is in SC, forces me to make the very difficult decision to sell the Venture. I need to gather info and photos for the classifieds section, but I figured I'd o a quick overview here, mostly to garner sympathy, but also to kind of ease into the process and see who might be interested. This is really killing me, but here goes. 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale, 2 tone blue. not sure of exact mileage, but I will get that info. I put around 6000 trouble free miles on it over the two years I was able to ride it. The left side fairing was banged up by the previous owner and it was missing a side cover when I got it. I have collected most of the replacement pieces, but I have not had the time or money to paint and install them. There are also some Yama-line pieces that i bought as NOS a couple of years ago, I think I have a few more still in the packaging. Whatever I do have will go with the bike. I have no desire to part this out . I promise to have more details properly placed in the classified section in a day or two.
  8. ummm, the Pittsburgh Steelers, I would imagine. I'm guesing the bike was mostly black and yellow with team logos on it. other than that, this is all i really know about the Steelers : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xffOCZYX6F8
  9. whoever they end up coming from, i'd be interested in a couple.

    MRI Today

Can I join the club? I have to go for an MRI wednesday evening. Tore my bicep tendon at work the other day. Sounds like I won't be riding for at least 6 weeks

  12. If I have the correct info the Dunlop E2 tires are going to be hard to find, if available at all. I have a practically new E2 on the rear of my 88VR and can't really afford to replace both tires this year, especially considering the condition of the rear tire. Does anybody know if i can safely "mix" an E3 for the front with my existing E2 on the rear? Or does anybody have contact info for Dunlop so I can ask them?

    Pizza Nazi

hmmm, a Goomba, with a gun pistol whipping somone over money.....does't seem very stereotypical to me at all.....
  14. I was really close to buying the transition 2 jacket based on on-line research. Found a semi local place that had them and the only thing I didn't like was the length. But the same place had the Flex2 also and i really liked it when i tried it on, so i got it. Still a bit longer than i like in the back, but the one day I was able to actually ride with it was chilly and I was pretty impressed with it.
  15. plans already made for this weekend, but keep me posted, i'd like to try and make it if you have another.
