Waiting patiently for the pics. We've been thinking that if we could take the two dogs with, we'd be gone a lot more for the whole weekend, not just a day at a time. Been looking at some of the cages available to put on a trailer. We'll be looking at a two wheel trailer though, with a yellow lab and a golden retriever. But I'd like to see your rig. Karen and I were thinking of building one of those last summer. I kinda got lost in trying to figure out what size to make it. Wanted to be closer to 4 foot wide, then the mirrors would be covered so we thought about some type of folding sides that would raise the dome up when parked and on and on. Never did figure it out yet, so we don't have one yet. What size did you end up making it? As far as the brakes, I had electric brakes on a Trailmaster Pop up several years ago. I bought a brake controller with a mercury switch that would switch from light to heavy braking when you were stopping hard. Seemed like a great idea, but...when rolling up gently to a stop sign and hit a bump the switch would hit and jam the brakes on. I ended up turning the system off. The only way I would try them again is if the control is on the handlebars and the controller was tied into the brake line on the bike to vary stopping power automatically. Excellent project, Enjoy, Scooter Bob I just noticed your from WI, I'll have to hunt you down some day and check it out a little closer.

It's been a week now... :scratchchin:With all the wrenchin' everyone's doing gettin' bikes and mowers and such ready for the season, nobody has started their garage on fire yet? Later, Scooter Bob The current target is.... You, your bike, and a fire truck. Bonus points if a fire fighter is in the picture. by straycatt

Unfortunately, it wasn't me. We're trying to get some yard stuff knocked out now, so not "venturing" too far for a couple weeks. Maybe see you on the 1st though. Later, Scooter Bob

Good job on getting both of you in the pic. I think we'll exclude ourselves from this target. Karen (Ladyfyrefiter on here) is on the local volunteer FD. And we know all the rest of the team. It just wouldn't be fair. Happy hunting everybody, Scooter Bob The current target is.... You, your bike, and a fire truck. Bonus points if a fire fighter is in the picture. by straycatt

No. a friend of ours just picked one up last Friday. That's one of the first things I noticed was the aluminum forks. But it sure is a perty ride. Later, Scooter Bob

How do you feel about the flamin' midnight?? I spent about an hour this morning searching dealer inventories in Wisconsin for New leftover midnights, and didn't find any. Did find a couple 07 blue/blacks though. Maybe a dealer could do a better search. Who knows, there may be one sitting in a little dealership in Tim buk too. I'll be nice and NOT post a pic of my bike. Get well soon, and good luck finding that new ride. Later, Scooter Bob

This is weird ...Did sync on the carbs and guess what I found

The mechanic must be a member here. See post #4 about plugging the AIS http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=485 Later, Scooter Bob -
That darn BLT pizza huh? Hang in there Dave, and get well soon. Don't want you to miss any of those picking lessons. Later, Scooter Bob

He didn't have his bike listed next to his name, so I thought i'd throw it out there. When you get things straightened out, I'll probably order one for mine. After getting the valves adjusted and carbs resynched afterwards, she pulls great. But I do notice a bit more slippage after the shifts. It's getting old. Later, Scooter Bob

I took a ride to the left coast in 2000. Ran the big road to Missoula, and then took Hiway 12 the rest of the way. I still remember the road sign when starting down the west side of the mountain. It was the curvy road sign, and said "next 60 miles". Followed a river all the way down the hill. US 12 runs through WI, so I just had to stop in Ocean City and take a picture of the "US 12 END" sign. Thought I'd go take a picture of the other end just for kicks, till I found out it ends in Detroit. I'll pass on that. Later, Scooter Bob

This guy put a small LED strip right behind the windshield (and a couple other places as well). I believe this bike belongs to member YamaQman from Hammond, IN if you want to get more info. Just a thought, Scooter Bob

Did you see this thread? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47124 Looks like somebody sold Earl the wrong springs that then got sent out. I'm not sure when he shipped yours, but would hate to see it not work for you. Check it out, Scooter Bob

Contestants wanted. Anyone can play. The thread can be found "stickied" to the top of the "Fun and Frivolous" forum topic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20503 Jump to the last page to find the current target, grab the camera, jump on the bike and go for a ride with eyes peeled for that perfect camera shot. (hint.if you're riding alone, get the mirror in the shot pointed back at you. You get the bike mirror, your face in it, and the target.) If you're the first one to post the picture back on here, you get to set the next target. (something kinda generic that anyone in the world might be able to find). Riding season is upon most all of us now. Hop on board with us and enjoy the ride. Later, Scooter Bob P.S. The current target is..... A picture of you and your bike and a bulldozer. Should be easy now that construction season has started heh? by Scooter Bob Sorry Don, for another watering hole thread about this, but we want to make sure the new people that haven't explored the whole site can find it and can play along.

Don, You know we never would have let you live that one down, in your own driveway during prime riding season. Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble... Wow, that looks like quite a ride just to get around that lake. Too bad it's over 4 hours away, and I'm not even dressed yet.. Enjoy the ride Don, Scooter Bob The current target is..... Steve, I figured we all waited long enough for the rest of the Canucks to find the ones you were looking for up there. And, no, we don't have a program like that here. However, the Veterans will be selling red poppies in front of all the stores around Memorial Day here in the states at the end of May. I usually buy a couple, one for the vest, and one for the handlebars. They usually last till I get caught in a good rain storm. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is..... Actually, after somebody here showing us what they look like, I've seen them all over our little town. But, we took a ride to another town about 25 miles North of here cus Karen knew where there was several flowerbeds. We found this one right next to the street, easy shootin'! For your next target, something a little more manly than a bunny or flowers.... A picture of you and your bike and a bulldozer. Should be easy now that construction season has started heh? How Happy Are With Your Auto Cancelling Turn Signals
Scooter Bob replied to YamaDude's topic in Watering Hole
I always wished mine would stay on longer too. I usually hit it a second time a little closer to the turn (before they cancel the first time). Later, Scooter Bob -
I had a card from a guy who was a rep. I think he's a member here. If I could only remember. Anywho, 65,000 miles on mine with no carb problems. I usually look for 10% ethanol. But, it's never sat for more than 5 weeks either. Bike seems to like it a little better, and I'd rather give a little to the local farmers than the fereners. Later, Scooter Bob

A LOW RIDER RSV, I know the feelin'. I had a guy redoing the seat cover on my 99 electra glide. After I gave him the seat, everybody else told me this guy drinks too much and I won't see my seat for a month. They were right. And I wasn't waitin'. I think all I did was fold up a big towel to cover the battery and frame a little and road it that way for a couple weeks. Later, Scooter Bob

That's what I thought the plan was too. They must hook up to the trailer hitch somehow on account of the hitch ball. It's a convertible! :happy34:Congrat's Bob, Lookin' forward to the pics today. Later, Scooter Bob

:scratchchin:It took me several beers :beersign:Friday night trying to decide where to mount the new air horn. But I finally found one, and now the next cager that tries to change into my lane will here from me! Good luck on your projects. Later, Scooter Bob

Aux Lights - Extra Tapped Holes in Light Bar?
Scooter Bob replied to RedRider's topic in Watering Hole
.... Is she back on the road?? I actually had a bunch of mine apart this weekend. I bought a WOLO Bad Boys air horn at FF so not chromed. Didn't like the looks of it in place of the stock horn, so I started looking everywhere else. If I got rid of the AIS there would have been a spot in front of the engine next to the oil filter, and in the back right next to the shock. ( I later found out both spots have been used by others here). I just didn't want to pull that stuff off while still under warranty. Settled for inside the fairing next to the radio. While I was in there, I also ran the heated grip wires in there, and the wiring for the GPS and XM radio. One problem, the XM radio antenna is on top of the factory radio as others have done here. I lose signal when going North, so I'll have to go back in and find a better spot for that thing. Might just have to put it back on top of the handlebar behind my cup holder. It worked there for my FL trip. Looks like I'll be cuttin' and redoing the zip ties for the fourth time. Later, Scooter Bob Later, Scooter Bob
