  1. Congrats on the ride:happy65: I'd like to see that light set up. Later, Scooter Bob
  2. I suppose you'd have to loose the front lower wind deflectors just to see the boooties then. Later, Scooter Bob
  3. Let's see a pic, Ken. It would probably help sales. Besides, I haven't figured where they go? Later, Scooter Bob
  4. Prayers Sent Scooter Bob and Karen
  5. to the service manual download area... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1828
  6. You're right, don't think it's charging. Time to get the manual out for some further testing. If you don't have one, I believe you can find one here in the Tech Library. Good Luck, Scooter Bob
  7. Also, when you get a better meter on it, it should be closer to the 14 volt neighborhood when running with the R's up some if it's charging. If your only seeing 12 volts when running, it's not charging the battery and will run the new one down too. Later, Scooter Bob
  8. Once I got to Mississippi, every gas station was a prepay or CC. My CC statement makes a real nice trip log.. Had a Blast, Still smiling when I think back to the trip. Later, Scooter Bob
  9. Great story! I've found a stray 1 here and there, but never a whole herd. But hay(pun intended), you can always qualify with horses too... Later, Scooter Bob current target still is... a picture of you, your bike, and a field with horses and or cows.. by David (painterman67)
  10. Here it is, http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=1&menu=DMY%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=20&s=prod.php It's not real bright, but it does look nice, and the price is right. Later, Scooter Bob P.S. the price is much more attractive when you have a shiny black bike already.
  11. I got one elsewhere aftermarket a couple years ago. It was less than $50 including shipping. I've got the link at work, and will send you the info tomorrow if you're interested. Later, Scooter Bob
  12. I guess that back shock has been slowly dying. Kinda like you're the only one who doesn't see your puppy getting bigger. Felt like a new bike again. :happy34:Now I'm looking for corners again instead of slowing down for them. The shock and the bad coil were replaced under warranty ( can't complain, 4-1/2 years and over 64,300 miles). The valve adjust ended up at $318 including new gaskets. Turns out they thought $56 per bank, ended up $56 for the motor. She said a couple were a little tight, and a couple were a little loose. But boy does sshe run good now!! Almost ready for a long distance summer, Scooter Bob
  13. Ya, me too. Was writing a note about getting the bike back from the shop. It's all good. I'll try again tomorrow, Scooter Bob
  14. You can always ride 50 miles and then take off the blindfold :sign just kidding:and start looking for horses or cows. A target last year about this time was a business with a "X" in the name. Way to easy to find that in Fox Lake, WI; so we rode 110 miles south to Fox Lake, IL and started looking there. Have fun with it, Later, Scooter Bob current target is... you, your bike, and a field with horses and or cows.. by David (painterman67)
  15. Not that I've heard of. Someone just mentioned this a couple weeks ago and it got me to thinking. I'm gonna look mine over good in the near future and see if I can come up with something. But don't hold your breath just yet. Later, Scooter Bob
  16. Sure did. Girlfriend loved them. Gonna cost me a bike trip. YAH Later, Scooter Bob
  17. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38581&highlight=Maint There's a few more pics of it in this thread. Later, Scooter Bob
  18. Looks like a great ride. Where's the Dam at? Later, Scooter Bob
  19. Looks Great! :scratchchin:When you get a few more you can try to catch up with one of the guys from Gary, IN that showed up at the WI Maint day last year. Later, Scooter Bob
  20. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46035&highlight=where%27s+annie Glad you're back. Get Well Soon. Later, Scooter Bob
  21. Like others have said here, Pretty Dependable machines. I got mine new 4-1/2 years ago. It now has over 64,000 miles on it and is in the shop for warranty work for the first time as we speak (lost cylinder #3 ignition coil and while it's in there, getting the rear shock replaced under warranty). Lots of info on this sight as far as routine maintenance, overwhelming discussions on different tires and oils, etc. Soak it up and then take one for a test ride and decide from there. Welcome Aboard, Scooter Bob
  22. :sun1:Here too, Walter. Don't worry, the 2" we got Friday night is all gone already. Later, Scooter Bob
  23. Congratulations! That works for me. Let's get this Scavenger Hunt moving good again everyone. Now, if I only had my scoot back from the shop, it's over 50 degrees and sunny:sun1: right now and I'm stuck here:bang head: instead of riding around looking for cows and horses. Later, Scooter Bob new target is you, your bike, and field with horses and or cows.. by David (painterman67)
  24. When I say rough, I noticed it right away. Something not quite right in the sound and throttle response (like it was being held back a little). However, I've heard of others on here that were running on 3 for a long time and didn't realize it. It'll still run down the freeway fairly well on 3. Fire it up and carefully check the temp on each exhaust pipe. If you've got a dead one, you can hold you fingers on it after the bike is warmed up. A thermometer might be safer though. Might want to check for plugged up air filters, they'll make it rich all around. Later, Scooter Bob P.S. bring that baby up here. We'll get her running great, and I'll ride with ya to add the other 2 states your missing in this area
  25. Ya, what he said. Are you running on all 4. I lost a coil a few days ago, and it obviously smelled rich, and ran noticably rough. Later, Scooter Bob
