  1. Man, that's out there in the water all right. Give me a call later tonight or tomorrow morning, maybe we can meet up for breakfast or lunch or something. 920_a_210_a_4652
  2. I was just kiddin' on the first post, but I really thought I nailed it on the second post till after I looked the pics and the rules closer. This one's a for sure I think. What do you think Don? Found about 1,390 miles into the trip, in northwestern New Jewsey. And was that some nice riding through there. And thanks again StrayCat for that reflection in the clutch cover trick! The next target is... You and your bike and a construction crane. Can be on wheels or tracks or a tower, boom up or down doesn't matter. Seems to be plenty of 'em around this time of year. Have a great ride lookin' fer one, Scooter Bob
  3. I'm doing the same kind of trip, but looks like opposite direction. I'll be in eastern CT or perhaps RI tonight, and heading to Maine tomorrow. Give me a call later tonight or tomorrow morning, maybe we can meet up for breakfast or lunch or something. 920_a_210_a_4652 Have a great trip, Scooter Bob
  4. Found in Leipsic, DE. Do I get extra credit for riding 1,100+ miles to score it?? Later, Scooter Bob The next target is...no it isn't You and you bike and a construction crane. Can be on wheels or tracks or a tower, boom up or down doesn't matter. Seems to be plenty of 'em around this time of year. Never Mind: I thought I had it, but now that I look at the specs, it doesn't say "HALL", so I'll keep looking too the current target still is... You, your bike, and Your City Hall building, picture must show the words CITY HALL! (For those in burgs with a different approach, yes, Town Hall will work) by DynoDon
  5. Believe it or not, We are not entirely forgotten about in D.C. At least we have a street with our name on it. Later, Scooter Bob
  6. That I actually went into DC. Actually going in was nice (see previous post), but after that it was all downhill from a traffic standpoint. But it is pretty cool to see, and say I've been there. Hey Honey, I will take you to see D.C. someday... WE WILL FLY THERE AND TAKE THE BUS EVERYWHERE. Later, Scooter Bob
  7. Here's a little canal that used to have barges pulled by mules. It's on a nice little road going into DC from the northwest. There were several of these locks along the road. More pics in a minute, Scooter Bob
  8. Saturday, the XM satalite radio Bluegrass channel was broadcasting live from a bluegrass festival in southern OHIO. Maybe that's where you're at. Later, Scooter Bob
  9. Left Pa yesterday morning, had breakfast in MD, saw some of DC, east to DE, and back up into PA for the night. Traffic in downtown DC was horrible. I don't know how people can live like that every day. Sure was nice to get on some two laners with no traffic later in the day. I did get a few pics while I was there. Today it's up to Reading, and then head through Allentown and into NJ. I'll ride through what looks like nice area there for a while and then head north and then east into CN and RI and MA and hopefullly into NH by night. I just can't tell how long this will take. But, I hope I won't be stuck in too much traffic today. Later, Scooter Bob
  10. Dangit, I wish you'd a called. I stayed at an overpriced fleabag motel, dirty, bed springs sticking out, wi-fi doesn't work. By the time I found all this out, it was almost dark, and I wasn't taking any chances on the road. I'm in Coatsville. Looks like about 30 miles south of you. Wanna meet for breakfast? I've got some more work to do on here first, then back in the saddle. I'll probably be up there around 8am. Give me a call 920_a_210_a_4652 Later, Scooter Bob
  11. It kinda looked like a pretty important building. So I lined up a good shot with me in the mirror of the bike and all, but.... No sign saying what it was. It's your call guys. Should I keep lookin'? Later, Scooter Bob the current target is... You, your bike, and Your City Hall building, picture must show the words CITY HALL! (For those in burgs with a different approach, yes, Town Hall will work) by DynoDon
  12. Wow, I was closer to D.C. than I thought. Should be in the mess by mid morning. Will snag a few pics of some of the sights, but won't spend a lot of time there. Yes Karen, I stopped for breakfast. But it looks like the rain caught up to me again, so time to go and get ahead of it for the 3rd time. Later, Scooter Bob
  13. Blast Away Jeff. Them things are cute and all, but they hurt waayy too many bikers. Later, Scooter Bob
  14. I just had to get off the big road in eastern IN, when I saw the signs for this place. It was about a dozen zig zag miles north-northeast, but worth it just to say I've been there seen that. Well, time to hit the shower and get the bike loaded back up and on the road. :scratchchin:EErr, from the looks of the sky, maybe I can take my shower after I leave. Off to D.C., Later, Scooter Bob
  15. From what I've heard, I'll have too watch out for Moose when I get to Maine also. Hwy B?? In Richford?? Later, Scooter Bob
  16. Sorry I missed you on the way through this afternoon, but I really was in the neighborhood. The XM satalite radio Bluegrass channel was being broadcast live from the "Midwest Banjo Festival" in MI this morning. Maybe that's where you're at. Maybe next time, Scooter Bob
  17. I got to Lowell, IN (a few miles south of Valparasio) last night after work. Hit the road this morning about the same time I usually head for work. Much better to keep ridin' for 12 hours instead of stopping at the factory. Put on a little over 600 miles today, and find myself in Bedford, PA. I've got a cheap room right off the turnpike that has a bar out back. Stayed ahead of the storms so far, we'll see what the morning brings. Tomorrow, it's off to D.C. and over to Delaware, and then head back north with a big requirement to try to miss big city traffic and such. Wish me luck on that. Later, Scooter Bob
  18. Karen and I took one down almost a year ago. I had dents in other parts of the tank from the handlebars and such, but not in the badge area. However, all I can figure is the the head wrapped around the right side of the bike and smashed my knee into the badge. You could almost make out the tank star in the bruise on the inside of my knee. Glad you're OK. Look forward to meeting you someday. Later, Scooter Bob
  19. How many miles on that scoot? Mine started getting into the mid 40s two up at 55-60mph after it got broke in good, at around 40,000 miles or so. Almost 5 years and 67,000 miles on this scoot, and I still find myself trying to shift again at 65 or so, and there ain't no more gears to be had. Later, Scooter Bob
  20. Bike's loaded and ready for the trip. I just have to stop in Beaver Dam and put in 8 more hours at the factory. I'll say my good byes to Karen after that and hit the road from there. If there's any offers for a place to camp in central Ill tonight, post here before 3pm, or else give me a call after that at 920_a_210_a_4652. Later, Scooter Bob ALMOST http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38847
  21. I might be able to in a week or so. I'll probably go through that area in my quest to stay way west of NYC as I make my way north to Conneticut. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49132 Later, Scooter Bob
  22. I expect to be there later next week as well. I'm meeting "Jonesy" from this sight to pick up a saddlebag. Thought I'd look around a bit while I'm there. If I'm staying in the neighborhood, I'll look you up. Have a Great Trip, Scooter Bob
  23. Bike's all set to go. Half the packin' is done as well. Hope to leave Thursday after work and head south. I'll be glad to buy the beer:beersign: for a place for a tent or a spot on the garage floor. It's not that I'm being cheap, I'd just like to meet a few more good folks along the way. Later, Scooter Bob
  24. I just hit google maps and couldn't find "Your City" or "Your Town" listed in any state. This should be a target anyone can get without too much trouble. Later, Scooter Bob the current target is... You, your bike, and Your City Hall building, picture must show the words CITY HALL! (For those in burgs with a different approach, yes, Town Hall will work) by DynoDon
  25. You should have a ball, and get a ton of miles er KM's on as well. I rode to vegas on my old shovelhead in '99. It's about 2,000 miles from southern WI. And there not kiddin' about the hot and the water thing. We had been doing about 100 miles and stop for gas and a bottle of water. Once we crossed the border from AZ to NV we only had 90 miles to go to vegas. But we stopped twice in that 90 mile run to get water and that sweat bucket off the head to cool down a bit. Have a safe trip, Scooter Bob
