  1. Is this what you were lookin' for Mike? Must not have been built very well, there's no house there now, just this sign. If so, the next target is... A picture of you and your bike and a real steam powered locomotive. Doesn't have to be running. Any park exhibit or museum piece is fine. Have fun with it. Later, Scooter Bob
  2. Go Indians!!!! Class of 85 here. Enjoy the CO trip. Hard not to. Hope to see you at the Summer Hummer. Later, Scooter Bob
  3. Come to the "Summer Hummer" State ABATE Rally June 17-20 at the land 12 miles south of Thorp. Karen and I will be playing in the bike games Saturday afternoon. Later, Scooter Bob
  4. Thanks for the update. I'll be putting this on the agenda for our ABATE meeting Tuesday night. We've been following this all along. We'll probably discuss it today during our Motorcycle Awareness Rally in Beaver Dam. We'll be holding up awareness signs for a couple hours on a busy street. Hope it helps wake up a few people. As it is, one of our newer members will be sitting in a chair holding a sign that says "this is what happens when you don't look twice" He has 13 broken bones in his foot from a left turn cager that "didn't see him" a week ago. Thanks Again, Scooter Bob
  5. Karen gets off.... and on from the right side. So I guess it's 5 for the left and one for the right. Later, Scooter Bob
  6. That bike sure was lookin' clean and shiny before you left the house. Glad ya missed all the armadillos and made it in safe. Enjoy the rest of your ride. And keep the pics comin'. Later, Scooter Bob
  7. Don't go under the seat, unless you have some other reason to... All those wires can be found if you remove the license plate. That's a junction for all of them. Just a thought, Scooter Bob
  8. Yes you did. Here you go, knock on this... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/a6/Timber_DonnellyMills2005_SeanMcClean.jpg/250px-Timber_DonnellyMills2005_SeanMcClean.jpg Later, Scooter Bob
  9. Sorry I had to miss it. Looks like a great time. Is this a new 3rd gen prototype?? And that's a nice lookin' horse trailer somebodies got there. Later, Scooter Bob
  10. My first x-wife bought me 4 shares for about $100 in '89 or '90. I cashed 60 (split that many times) of my 64 shares in 99, about $3,000, for a downpayment on my first NEW bike, 99 flhtci. Later, Scooter Bob
  11. Fuel milage seemed to go up quite a bit around 40k. That's when I thought mine got "broken in". Later, Scooter Bob
  12. You'd think +1 billion could cover quite a few years of -75 million. But then again, I haven't been to math class for 25 years. That's big business fer ya. Where they thinkin' of going? Will everyone be ridin' foreign bikes in the near future??? Later, Scooter Bob
  13. I hope you got straight south in a hurry. If you did, you might not have taken you're shower yet. (just looking at when you posted and where the storms were) Have a great trip, and keep us posted. Me, I'll be workin OT to get that machine done by next weekend. Later, Scooter Bob
  14. Ok, we won't go to the local fire station and open the doors, but... We'll keep an eye out for one on our trip to the Iowa M&E this weekend. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is.... You, your bike, and a fire truck. Bonus points if a fire fighter is in the picture. by straycatt
  15. Have a safe and enjoyable ride Jeff. I'll wave when you go by BD. Hopefully we'll be headin' to Iowa by 5 Friday night. Looking forward to the pics, Scooter Bob
  16. I put heated grips on, but they weren't cuttin' it when I headed south end of Feb and it was 8 degrees out. I put a chemical hand warmer on the back of my hand inside a $25 pair of 150 gram thinsulate ice fishing gloves. Life was good, did 460 miles that day. I can't believe I never used them thing all these years. I also had one of those same hand warmers between my regular and wool socks in the arch of my foot inside my snowmobile boots. My riding season just got waaaay longer. Later, Scooter Bob
  17. I'm surprised at the number of folk proceeding slowly from now green lights just in case. I know I do...and on the bike too... Later, Scooter Bob
  18. Factory Customized. regular ones are in the $21,000 area last I looked. Later, Scooter Bob
  19. I've often wondered why they don't put the balanced motor on solid mounts in a bagger. Should be able to lower seat height and stuff when you don't have to have that extra 2 inches of room all around the motor to let it shake. How new are your friends bikes? In 09 the stretched the frame and stiffened it up quite a bit for more stable handling and passenger room. Last HD bagger I rode was an 07, and wasn't impressed. I will try an 09 or newer somday, just to see what it's like. But it would have to be waayy better to get me to switch back to them again. Just my $.02, Scooter Bob
  20. Just head West. You got a week to get to Riverside Casino, and we'll lead you back to flatland. Check it out...... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=187&day=2010-05-01 Later, Scooter Bob
  21. Often, my friend. They're built for it. If a bike couldn't get wet, a bunch of us wouldn't have been to most or all of the states in this country. Go out and blow dry it tomorrow. Later, Scooter Bob
  22. NO, NO, it keeps getting warmer every day... Oh wait a minute, you were sweatin' when I was riding around in my snowmobile suit a couple months ago. Guess it's payback time down there. Hang in there Girl, Spring will be coming in a few months! Get well soon, Scooter Bob
  23. 2003, the yamy dealer in town had been sitting on a new 01 venture for 2 years already. I was going to get a little more trailer towing power out of my 99 electraglide with the air cleaner upgrade. They told me I would have to spend another $175 to remap the FI to run with the $120 air cleaner. WHAT kind of racket are you guys running? I had never ridden a Venture, but it looked like a great machine. I rode straight to the Yamy dealer and told them I wanted to trade for the Venture RIGHT NOW. He said sorry, finally sold it 2 weeks earlier. Bummer. Fast forward 2 years... Electraglide was making me nervous at 50,000 miles. Wondered when the belt would break and leave me sittin'. Started looking at every bike out there. Actually test rode a venture on Thursday night. Went to the Harley dealer on Friday and told the salesman (same guy that was working at the yamy shop 2 years earlier, he knew how close I was to switching brands then) I needed a new ride. I test rode a slightly used 04 electraglide just to see what improvements were made. Didn't seem any better than the 99, and they wanted $18,500 for it and no warranty left. I asked what my 99 was worth in trade for it and they told me only $7k. I stewed all weekend, and Monday I called every Yamy dealer around looking for a midnight. Found one that said he would give me $8k for the 99 without even seeing it. Told him I would be down that night to pick it up, and I did. And here we are, 4-1/2 years and 65,000 happy miles later, and no worries about another trip out east in a month to get a replacement saddlebag from the deer hit last year. Later, Scooter Bob
  24. Yah, What they said! Don't know if the dogs will like it as much:confused24:...might not be near enough wind in their faces now. Nice Job, Scooter Bob
