I just put a set on my 91. So far they are behaving well. Only 100 miles on since install. Motorcylce superstore price was $128.00 shipped to the door for the 230 tourmasters. Hope you have good luck with these as I feel like I am going to be ok. I priced an Avon rear tire for almost the same price of the set of shinkos. David

Need a bit of help
painterman67 replied to Jason's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Im not one of the mechanics on this group, but everytime I sefaom my bike with a heavy dose it smokes like that. As a matter of fact the first time I did it my wife and I had went out on a ride,me on my 91 vr and her on her shodow, she was behind me and had me pull over. I was making a white cloud out the rear of my bike and the exhaust fumes were very strong. With that being said I would still still defer to betterm inds. drain the fuel and the fuel bowls. Get it all out, and put in fresh fuel. If she stops smoking then you can probably make a safe assumption that it was the seafaom. And if that is the case you can always put that fuel backin and let the seafaom do its job. David -
just bought it . Didnt see the 14 day return policy. Thanks for the heads up guys. Im aloso watching another one .Its got 20 hrs left and is at 26 dollars on the bid. It was posted on this site as parting out a 90 . Hess4less on ebay. Might just snatch it up to if it goes cheap enough. Again thanks for the heads up guys I probably wouldnt have found it and even if I did probably wouldnt have bought it because I didnt see the return policy. Tahnks again David

can you get me a set of dementions? It might be able to be made. Mine cracked on me a week or so and I used the one that was in good shape to make a new set in clear. All I did was trace a pattern on construction papper and then traced that pattern on to the plexiglass. Then put a plunger drill bit in my dremle tool and ran it on high. Followed the lines and then put the sander barrel attachment on the dremile. Sanded the edges and then drill out the holes for the bolts and installed back on bike. I did mine in clear and left them flat instead of putting a bend in them. But as is my understanding all it takes to bend plexiglass is a heat gun and two ppieces of wood. let me know if you can get a pattern to me and I mught be able to help. David

Those type dont park around me too long. I recently went to a movie(3 hrs) and I intentanaily parked behind some young punk and blocked him in. When I came out this guy was fuming. Evidently he parked his brand new super charger piece of crap illegaly and had to wiat the entire movie for me to come out. He was leaving a movie as we went in. he had called the police trying to get them to tow my explorer and they wrote (spelling) him a ticket instead and told him he was lucky my truck wasnt in the way as they had already seen his and would have towed his if I didnt park in the way. he showed his rear end a little too much and started threatening my wife and thats when he got introduced to my friend mister ruger. He got real quiet and sat politely in his car till i moved after that. and as far as my dream car if I won the lottery. I would have a 1968 gt 500 mustang in original shape. That would be a little expensive but who cares I just won the lottery. David

Exhaust Help Needed
painterman67 replied to SoldierBoy55B's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey soldierboy, Just got a pm from cimack that was forwarded on from mother as to what he did with his bike when the pipes rusted out. You can go get a set of road king take offs from harley or ebay etc. Then go to auto parts store and get a muffler pipe extension with a 15 degree angle. Measure the collector od and the rk id . The 15 degree piece should be able to slip over the od of thee collecter ond inside tie id of the rk. Use rk clamps on the rks and original calmps on the collecter. Then fashin a braket in the rear tohold up the pipe in desired location. Mother stated he used the bottom bolt of the saddle bags with a bent piece of 1 1/2 steel. The rks are not loud and do give a rumble, They can also be drilled to bark louder if you so desire. Hope this helps .AS soon as time and money co operate this is the mod that I will be doing to mine. David -
ok Im not sure how they worked it, but i just seen one going down the road the other day, Only this one had the motor mounted to another tire. About the size of a small riding lawnmower front tire. This tire was located above the rear tire with the motor. As I said not sure how it worked but this was an old man riding down the road pulling a trailer behind his beach cruiser type bike. It was already rolling so i didnt want to bother him, but it did look cool. David
