Nobody said the rally moved up there,,,,, How can a guy stay in the loop around here anyways,,,,,,,,,call me mushroom. Good to see you got some company,,,,,,,,,,never mind what others say that it may be questionable,,,,,,,,,,,,,all three of you should fit together quite well.

As I read this thread it shows what this forum is all about, even the 'boss' wants to get involved. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now we need to know how this is all coming down so that we know it's all taken care of,,,,,,,,you got me thinking as well,, so post the results please and thanks.

It's an 08, deep silver, WHAT A BEAUT and he's loving the riding. Yep he's at the rally and if you know Squid, there's just not enough time to get 'er all done. I'm sure he'll post sometime this weekend.

You're probably hearing what is called the Chirp or whine and it comes from the clutch basket. Changing out the clutch basket often helps or eliminates it but not always. It is a warrenty issue so take it to the dealer. It will not get better any other way. Best of luck, let us know how it turns out. Do a search on 'clutch basket' and you'll come up with a good nights reading. Carl

I suppose then you could do the ebay thing or even check around to any used bike shops. If you're not in a hurry then we'll be able to help maybe with used parts.

What I would do first is to take the controller apart and clean it. That's the unit with all the lights and the buttons. I would think you have sticky dirty contacts under the buttons.

If you haven't found it you don't have it, further than that, as Squeeze said. And oh,,,most of us sleep at night so if you post at midnight it might be sunup before we get to read about your problems, unless someone is up for some reason, then we always check the site.

Thanks Don. Now could you delete all the posts to this thread so that the discussion stays strickly with the car tire issue and so stays informative for those who would like to use it as such? Sorry guys, just my opinion, but Don did say STRICKLY. And no I'm not ticked, just like to be a little organized.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Today I thought I'd just take the erring unit out and see what there was to see. Well I removed the class first and still had F\B, I then removed the screws holding the plastic cover the holds the CB and still had F\B, I then lifted the CB out of the bike and now the problem seems to be solved, if only for the moment. Put it all back together, took it out for a 30 minute ride and so far so good, now to plug both helmets in, that's tomorrow, we'll see how it pans out.

Last time I seen him, Squid, he wasn't movin' to fast, he was complaining about his speedo being broke but I got me half a hunch he maybe wasn't going fast enough to make it come up.

I have an 85 VR with a CB from an 86. All seemed to work well, but I now have a feedback issue when I key the mic with my PTT button. This feedback is noticeable in channels 25 to 40 but doesn't seem to be there in the lower channels. On Ch 20 it is barely noticeable and not a real issue but as I good up in channels the worst it gets. looking for ideas. Carl

Poor performance after tip over

I like the answers so far and those are the issues I would deal with first, but then if that don't solve the problem, you may have shook up some dirt in the bottom of the tank and got some of it into the system. Try a can of Seafoam in a half tank of gas, run it into the system and then let it sit overnight before running the rest through the next day. When that half tank is used, fill it back up again.
