Do I have a warrantee issue?
davecb replied to Busta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you take off the left lower and then put it back on, do not tighten the screw as tight as you can get it. It will eventually crack on the inside. If you look, you will notice a strip of rubber on the lower, Just snug the screw us so it slighly indents that rubber strip. it will not come loose, nor will it crack if you do it that way.... -
Yup, just some lawyer out to make a buck for people that have no common sense.....

OK....First....Yamaha will reinstall your old basket if you do not like the new one. Now, The whine mostly comes on at 55MPH. You have 2 choices. Either speed up/slow down or drop down a gear. I have a tach on my bike, and before I replaced the basket, the noise would run fron 2300RPM to 3000Rpm. Now it is a little noisy at 2500RPM. It won't hurt dropping down a gear, cause these engines love to wind. They just sound like they are really cranking the RPM, when in actuality, they are not. Trust me, you do not realize this unless you have a tach. My whine was so bad I could not run at 55MPH in 5th gear. You could hear ir a block away. Keep the RPM up and you won't hear the whine at all....

venture has no heating option
davecb replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Get heated gloves for sure.... Get a snowmobile suit and your good in the 20 degree and below range. I guarantee you feet will never get cold on a Venture. This is the first bike I have owned that I have to hang my feet out on the highway pegs in 20 degree weather to cool them off... -
It's a shame Al Harper is not a regional rep anymore. He knows Ventures inside and out. I hope his replacement is half as competent as he is. He worked with me to get the dealer to put in the I-basket. He will be missed in the southeast....My hats off to him....

Smooth, Billet, Passenger Floorboard Backing Plates
davecb replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
Just a note: It appears that Yamaha has stopped making accessories for the 2nd Gen. They are getting hard to find, I know, cause I am looking all the time. Now...Does this mean they are building a new 3rd Gen...Or are they just going to delete the Venture line??? If you have a 2nd Gen, and want accessories you better buy them now... -
Just upgrade to a RSV and you won't have those problems. Your wife will love you for it...
