    I'm Back

Thanks guys! I don't plan on doing anything that my doctor doesn't tell me that I can. This Doctor was an Army doctor taking care of those crazy guys that jump out of airplanes. So, he knew about Feet, Knees, Necks, and Backs. He developed a new way of back surgery. He went through my side, not through the back or front. Lewis, I'm glad that you got to see Jerry. 1 - UP Ken

    I'm Back

I'm back reading what you all have to say. Back in April I had back surgery and the doctors removed 4 disks and replace them ( L2,3,4,and 5) they also injected some of my stem cells into the psudo disks that replaced the ones they took out. I haven't felt like riding maybe that is the reason why I haven't been on the site very much. I'm slowly getting better. I have rode a few times, but not very far. The last visit to the doctor I was told that three out of the four disks are doing real well and growing bone like they should. Number L5 is being slow about getting the job done. They told me that I would get 80% back, I hope that is so, I plan on being a Vogel next year and riding those rodes that I missed the last time. I hope everybody is doing well, 1 - UP Ken:backinmyday:

    Surgery

Got home Wednesday, Still have a lot of pain (to be expected). Pain pills are helping. It doesn't look like I'll be getting back on the trike any time soon. I thank you all for the prayers. They do work. The Doctor said that the surgery went well and he was happy with the results. 1 _ UP:cool10:

    Surgery

Just to let those who have had back surgery. This is a new proceedure where the doctor who is doing the surgery is the one who developed it. He is going in my left side with two different holes. He will take out the old disks and replace them. The ones that he puts back in will be injected with my stem cells from my hip. He has had doctors from China and Europe and all over the US to learn how he does this. He use to be a doctor in the Army, and opperated on those soldiers who jumped out of airplanes. (Never figured out why they did that.) I was told that there would be doctors and professors watching my surgery. I appreciate the words of wisdom from those who have had back surgery. And, I thank you all for your prayers. 1 - UP

  6. Words are always hard to come by at times like this. But, I want to say that Steve will be missed by all here on the site and else where. I think we were all blessed with his presents, his knoweldge, and kindness. Like others I too have his grill on my RSV, and every time I look at it or clean it, I will remember Steve. Thank you for sharing him with us. My prayers are with you and Steve. Ken, 1 - UP
  7. Tell Don to buy one of those Throughbreds, It has a sports car body, its a two seater, No Top, has a Ford 4 cy engine, automatic Trans with reverse, heat, AC Three Wheels and it probably costs less than he has in his Trike. Thats my next "Trike". Ken:backinmyday:
  8. Lewis, Had a great time, it is always nice to put a handle to a face and I got to do that. Sure missed some of the others, but times are what they are, hoping for the largest turn out in a couple of years. Sorry that I couldn't make the "Tail" ride, maybe the next time. Lunch at the Dillard's house was great. Sonny (3Wheeler) and his better half and Joe and his wife (Mary B) road all the way in the rain until the last hour and a half, the rain quit then. But, every body got home safe. I know that this takes a lot of work to put on and I thank you for that. The cook out and "Get to gether" was very nicely done. Food was great! For all of you that missed it - - - It was great. B2Dad and B2Mom had a nice surprise for Lewis. Brought tears to a grown man's eyes. Lewis' too! Thanks Don and Pat!!!! 1 - UP
  9. Jeff, I'm sorry that I could not remember Baron Risers, but they are also the ones that I used. And, they do hit the ignition switch when you make a sharp turn (not when riding) when you are trying to move your bike around in the garage, or in a parking space. It never bothered me. It did help my shoulders when riding. Ken:backinmyday:
  10. Jeff, I wish I could remember, it has been so long ago that I put them on. Maybe someone else can help you. I'll check my records today and see if I still have paper work on them. I don't think you want to go any bigger than one and a half inch riser. I think if you do you are going to have to change cables. Ken:backinmyday:
  11. Not with the 1 and a half inch riser, I think you might have to if you use the 2 inch. Might check with some others and see what they did. Does not take long to do, maybe 10 mins. and includes getting the tools out. Ken:backinmyday:
  12. I run a Metz on the front, regular front tire, rubber is harder, got 26K out of the last one, and still had some left. The steering will come from either easy steer, or the rake that is on the front. You might also put 1 and a half risers on and it will help you steer your trike, it did for me. You are not pushing down on the bars. Ken:backinmyday:
  13. I run 42 front 24 rear, it's easy to remember and I have never had problems in the rain, and I have a hannagan kit on my RSV Ken:backinmyday:
  14. Thank you, I'll give this information to him. I just hope it is not something that is costly. Like having to get a new control unit. Ken, 1 - UP:backinmyday:
  15. One of our members is having trouble with his radio and CB. He thought it had to do with his helmet and the mic boom. So he was due to get new helmets and he got new mic's and boom's for him and his wife. That did not help. The radio will turn itself off, and come on by it's self. He can not transmit on the CB. Don't know about the intercom. When I was up in Indy earlier this summer, we split the fairing, and cleaned the connections to the radio, still had trouble. Any of you guys out there got an idea or had a problem like this. Thanks, Ken, 1 - UP:backinmyday:
