I'm very interested in seeing a picture of these installed.

It's about time for me to return to the darkside. My free Dunlop E3 is getting thin.

You should really be starting the bike in neutral and not in gear with the clutch pulled in when it's cold. The oil drains off the plates and they'll stick together until the oil gets slung back onto the clutch discs. My bike jumps if I try and start it in gear in the morning. It does not do it once the engine is at operating temperature.

I appreciate it!

I know 1 fella who was anti-trailer and made fun of those who did trailer. Until he went down in Arkansas and his dad had to bring him a truck and trailer to haul his bike back to Dallas because of his broken arm. Now on most rides over 200 miles away from homebase, he trailers. He trailered his bike to Alberta and then rode up to the Arctic Circle though. I admit, I'm one of those that shake their head when I see a bike on a trailer, but I understand it. I rode from Amarillo to the Dragon and was burnt up, rained on, hailed on, dodged wildlife, took twice as long, burned up twice as much gas as expected, broke down once and had to push the bike a 1/4 mile wrong way on the interstate pulling a trailer in the rain. I did not enjoy that ride at all. It tossed a shadow over all the good riding I did do around the Dragon.

A little NOS fuel additive will fix that. [ame=http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226570]Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive : Suzuki GSX-R Motorcycle Forums: Gixxer.com[/ame]

Im looking for a couple of old, damaged 2nd gen tanks. I want to try my skills at building an oversized tank.

I was thinking that between the weight savings and the aerodynamic change that the mileage would go up some. The truck catches a lot of air according to the dead bugs stuck to it.

128 miles round trip, but I have to get gas everyday, right at 4 gallons. I'd like to be able to ride 2 days before I need to get gas.

Presently, Im commuting 128 miles a day. I was wondering, how much did your gas mileage improve after the conversion? Im thinking about it if it'll allow me to ride 1 day without having to stop for gas.

Actually, this is from 2 years ago. That tech day came together pretty good.

My clutch on my 99 grabs at the end. I think it's probably normal.

83 model bike and plugging up fuel filters? Sounds like you need to pull the tank and Kreem it.

I wouldn't put Royal Purple in a lawnmower or use it to oil a chain on a bicycle. When I worked at the truckstop, Arrow Trucking had us stock Royal Purple for them. They stuck us with 220 gallons of it after they started losing engines in 6 months.

Notice for Purolator Pure One filter users...
flb_78 replied to gibvel's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Warranty issue is a moot point anyways because the Purolater filter is not a direct cross reference for the Venture. I'll take my chances and keep using the Purolater PureOne filter. It's done fine so far.- 14 replies

No, They're saying that our puny little motorcycle oil pumps may not be able to push the oil through the media in the filter and not be able to even open the bypass valve in the filter.- 14 replies

It's just a bunch of horse poop that their lawyers made up to cover their behinds. Purolator doesn't even manufacture their own line of motorcycle filters. They're imported and rebranded. I've been running Purolater PureOne filters for over 30,000 miles now. My bike has 95,000 miles on it and is still running strong.- 14 replies
