OK folks....this is just to find out if there is any interest at all. If not, then no big deal. I have worked out a deal where we can get these bags with the VentureRider logo on the back and a 10% discount IF I can buy them in a lot of 50 units. I already have a bag and don't really need one but would buy one with the VentureRider logo if there is enough interest to get the group purchase. Well, since my dealer here in Searcy does not have an "air pump" on the premises, I had to go ahead and buy one (which will probably only get used a couple of times), but at least I have it now. I may decide to RENT it to my dealer for $79.95/hour though. Wally

I resently has a crash and I've been able to replace the parts but I've been having some issues with allignment. I need to be able to see a Venture to compare the alignment and I also need some help with some bending. Is there anyone near the Buford area that would be able to help out? I'll buy the beer.

Thinking bout buying K&N filters for my 08 RSV and wondering if anyone could tell me if they really raise the HP or make it feel like its breathing better? I put one on a V-8 Dodge Dakota and could not tell any difference. Also, where would be a good place to buy them? Thought I would tap the vast knowledge pool that we have here for answers. I own a Bushtec Trailer with about 10,000 miles on it. Just bought 2003 Midnight Venture. What hitch would be the best for this bike? Of course I can buy a Bushtec hitch but some others LOOK better. Any ideas?

What do you think the value for a 1998 Royal Star Tour Deluxe should be? I have my eyes on a very well loaded, low mileage machine that is lady ridden. I have friends who know the bike and it has not been down. It may be worthwhile to buy and sell later.

I got word through this or some other forum that a mainstay in our area, Chicago Sports & Cycle was closing its doors and an auction was scheduled for Saturday. It started at 9 am, however, I couldn't get there until shortly after 10:00. Unfortunately missed out on the many cases of Yamalube and other shop fluids they were selling. But got there in time for what I was most interested in...J&M headsets (new in box). Since they were selling in bulk, I had to buy a box w/ 5 units even though I only needed two. I am going to have two (2) extras which I will make available on this forum before selling on ebay. I believe one is full face (part #HS-ECD584-FF) and the other flip front or modular (part # HS-ECD584-FL), both retailing for $229.99. I am attaching pix of those for anyone interested. Will take any rsble offer, plus shipping. PM if interested. CS&C was a Yamaha, Honda, Suz & Kaw dealer which also sold other powersports equipment. Because they were selling items in bulk containers, I had to buy many items I did not need in order to get items I wanted. However, most of those bulk lots were rsbly. cheap and once I go through all of the boxes I will put together a list of what I have to sell or give away to VR members. I will then update this thread or post elsewhere if more appropriate. There are only a few items that are specifically related to the Venture, and many miscellaneous motorcycle & ATV-related items. I got 2 led 1157 bulds for my scoot and decided they are better then i expected.I am going to hold off on the turn lights because the load change on the flasher. I did see you can buy the adapter to get more load but not sure where to put it. Also not sure if i need 1 or 2 load adapters. Any idea thanks Doug that is suppose to be light not tight

Does anyone know where to buy any of these? They work great for holding panels together. I can't seem to find anywhere to buy them. I'm not real sure of the spelling for the name. They are flush mounted screws that tighten in one revolution.

I have a "million" slides that I want to put on the computer. Does anyone have any experience with slide scanners? I would like to get a sturdy one, capable of scanning a multitude of slides. Appreciate any help. By the way, when I went to Best Buy to inquire about one, the salesperson (young) did not even know what a slide is...had to explain.

Last summer I bought a Shim kit with about 32 shims and the special tool needed to change shims. I'll be done with it this week. Anybody wanting to use it can, if they will pay shipping to and from my place. If you have to buy shims please add your old ones to the kit so we can all benefit from its use. Just PM me with your address and when you would want it and we can go from there.

Will 84 VSTD Carb Slides and Diaphragms fit my 88 VSTD? Just curious, sites that sell the replacement parts list 86-93 separately. I can buy a whole 84 cheap, this will help me decide to buy the parts bike or not. -
Hello my friends, I have a situation and could use some of your feedback. I am looking to purchase another Royal Star,it is a 1996 BEAUTIFUL bike that has sat for about years in a garage,here is the catch. The bike starts on full choke idles badly and stalls when you crack the throttle. The present owner has let me put SeaFoam and fresh gas in the tank which actually has made the bike run(idle) worse. It appears to be running on 3 cylinders as the upper left exaust header does not get hot. My job has taken me from my home where I had my shop and now I live in an apartment where I dont have the resources to work on the bike. Not knowing shop rates for what appears to be fouled carbs the owner is willing to give me $300.00 off the asking price because of its running condition. Do I pull the trigger and buy the bike and hope that the repairs dont exceed $300.00 or walk away. The bike has 18,000 miles.

I'm a soon to be picking up a (new to me) 2008 Venture. My addVenture started by searching the internet adds to find the best buy (for me). Many slipped by from my hesitance... some just didn't feel right... some were priced like they were gold lined. Searches, eBay & Craigs List were used. After days of searches, notes & research; I stumbled upon a poor lonely Red/Black Venture abandoned by it's owner, which apparently left his bike love & turned over to the Dark Side. Yes, the previous owner succumbed to all of the Harley marketing & mantra; & is now marching in line with his buddies (this is just a guess). Well, the poor bike is anxiously waiting for me to pick it up & take it home. She (the bike) already nows that I love it & have started making preparations to take care of it. The plan is: search for & buy a Dowco cover for it as soon as I find a good price [Anyone have suggestions] buy insurance from Progressive the Wednesday before I get it purchased ticket to fly to Akron, OH (Orbits is the best) [leaving early & arriving in Akron on 11/7 @ 11:45AM] eat hardly anything before flying to minimize human pit-stops on the way home [pack some energy bars] after landing in Akron, get transportation to Dover, OH (in process of finding) [anyone have any recommendations - Shuttle service?] taking my rain gear/suit, full helmet, ski gloves, boots, level 2 armor jacket/pants & security after giving cashier check to owner, putting plate on, checking tire pressures, checking fluids, filling up with gas (adding Sea Foam)... I'll mount my GPS & call the wife that I'll be starting the final leg of my addVenture. Lastly, start the long fun ride from Dover, OH to Richmond, VA Woo! Hoo! I can't wait. These Venture bikes seem like they were made for me. So... I'm still looking for recommendations on: best transportation to get for travel from Akron Airport to Dover any suggestion for buying a cover for the new girl... - manufacturers - models - sellers Thanks; johnb

While at daytona this weekend I was looking for a new helmet for my (cold) night driving up in Jacksonville, FL. I was at the Helmet Shop and found the new Nolan N43 Trilogy. Now I tried on Nolan's in the past and they alway rubbed on my forhead but this one has been changed to fit my noggon great. Price-eee at about $240 bucks but take a look into it and tell me what you think of it. I didn't buy it... only because I had not done my research yet and I stepped away from the counter when I started thinking about putting my intercom onto it. If I installed the set I now have (J+M) I would have to cut a chunck out of the new helmet so I am thinking hard about putting an other $175 into a head gear that will fit right into the helmet (like their n-comm unit does). Anyway, I did find out that this new N43 helmet over in Europe is called the N43 Air. That one has a better air flow then the trilogy but is not sold here.'''' Now that is the one I would like to buy! So if anyone has the nowhow on how I can get it...(like some of our venture buddys over in Europe) please help me out. ken
