  1. Thanks for the lessons learned. If your Odyssey battery will take and hold a charge, that is a strong testament for those batteries.
  2. Yes it mutes on demand. Just toggle the 'press-to-talk' button on either the handlebar (for the CB) or at the passenger's control, and the mic-mute toggles on or off. Fantastic.
  3. I have mic-mutes and do not have the engine noise. With the mic-mutes on, all wind noise from the microphone is eliminated. Wonderful. You might double check to make sure all connections are together tight.
  4. Somehow that doesn't look like a chin.
  5. Could be you don't have the fitting screwed down enough to depress the schreader valve in the valve stem.
  6. And how about one of the weirdest songs, "They're coming to take me away".
  7. 'What's new Pussycat?" barf
  8. We just renewed our passports, and it took about 5 weeks to get the new ones. They even returned the old ones, but they have holes punched in them so the cannot be used any more. My understanding with the passport cards is that they are NOT good for air travel. So if you are flying to the Caribbean or elsewhere, you will need a passport.
  9. You didn't say where that was, or what it is near. Keeping it a guarded secret?
  10. You should be applauded for the amount of work you did. A tremendous "Thanks" for the time and effort you put into making this happen. Efforts like this sometimes go unoticed. But those of us who benefit from your sacrifice will always give a silent 'thanks' to you whenever we need to reference the information you have made available to us. Good job. My hat's off to you. Thanks Bro.
  11. You're in good company with those broken plastic tabs.
  12. Please take a look at this link: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18565&highlight=vance
  13. Don't remember anything about pink air. Freebird, what the.........?
  14. My experience with the Condor is the same as V7Goose. I don't trust it to hold the bike upright by itself. I had it start to tilt slowly once, and luckily caught it in time. I contacted Condor, and they sent me a new wheel chock part, but that did not correct the problem. As a result, I never use it alone - I just don't trust it. What I do use it for, however, is when I have to trailer the bike. With the front wheel in, and the sides tied down, the bike is solid. Like he said, buyer beware.
  15. True Todd, unfortunately the whole car is not made out of corrosion resistant material. Anyone who lives near the coast knows that salt water can rust everything, even your tennis shoes.
  16. Does that offer go for me too? By the way, I can't believe you drove it on the beach. IN THE SALT WATER!
  17. Do what I did when I lived in Hawaii.......ship your bike to San Francisco, pick it there and ride to Texas. Supposed to be clear and cool here all week. Just about perfect ridin' weather.
  18. When I trailered mine, I used soft straps on the handlebars, and on the rear crash bars. Snugged everything down to put the shocks in compression using ratcheting tie-downs. Bike rode fine. Hope to see you Sunday.
  19. I would use it. Actually, hope I don't need to use it (assistance), but certainly nice to have available if things don't go as planned.
  20. What do the folks way up north (north of Dallas) who can't ride their bikes all winter do? Do they experience this problem and have a way to take care of it?
  21. The pleasure was mine. And it was certainly nice to meet you and Janet. Looking forward to seeing you again for a little road time.
  22. If you use the search feature, you should be able to find plenty of text on this subject. V7Goose made a comparison and posted his results. His bottom line was one or the other makes an improvement, but both doesn't double the improvement. Below is an excerpt from one of the discussions. It has been said on past threads that if you have installed the leveling links that the narrower front tire is overkill. I did both and I think it is overkill. The narrower tire tends to follow grooves in the road more readily and stands to reason because it is more responsive by virtue of the less width. I did the links and the narrow front tire almost simultaneously so I'm not exactly sure which made the most positive difference in the low speed handling. Others have said that if you don't have the leveling links that the change to the narrower tire to have a similar positive effect in low speed handling. I'm getting ready to find out because my new tires have just come in to be installed. I am installing the standard width front tire. I'll let you all know what my experience is pro or con . I bet there are others that have already made this adjustment. I know Don was planning to put the standard front tire back on because to quote him that he felt that it was overkill to do both the leveling links and the narrower front tire. I use the Avon venoms and I don't know if it is a different outcome with different brands with maybe different profiles or rubber compounds.
  23. Perhaps even Yamaha would be interested. A model made available to the dealers as a way to attract attention to prospective buyers. A good marketing tool that could generate income.
  24. I use one of the ACI Advanced Chargers products. I have both the 3 amp and 7 amp model. 25. What's the installation process like? Are they easy to install?
