  1. the fried pies in Ellijay are good but you can't beat the huge apple lattice pie from Costco for $8.99
  2. I have Tour Master gloves and jacket liner and they work fine. Gloves plug into the sleeve on jacket liner and I used the harness off my battery. Controllers are not cheap and work fine and several of my friends use them also and are satisfied.
  3. I've used several brand tires and find the www Dunlop 404 a good tire all around and I don't really have a problem keeping them clean on my RSTD. Been using nitrogen in them and they seem to be holding just fine.
  4. I have the Hoppe fairing on my RSTD and really like it. If you want to detach it's not a big deal. Got mine on Craig's list from a fellow who wrecked his bike but fairing was still good and he upgraded everything so I got a great deal at $900 which included the shipping. I have the usb port so I listen to my ipod mostly but it has sirius,cd player and of course radio but who listens to radio anymore, and I have the 12v. plug too. Have pxs on my profile. Bob
  5. Just got a hoppe fairing with upgraded am,fm stereo cd player, chrome trim, upgraded Focal speakers, usb port, sirius satellite radio, and 12v plug with shipping came to $900. Of course I had to have it painted to match my bike but would have had to do that to a brand new one also. Got it on Craig's list.
  6. I've had both and found the dunlops got better mileage and traction might have been better too. I'm using the 404's now and traction is good but mileage isn't.
  7. I also added the Hoppe Fairing and love it but will have to wait to use the bike since I was in an accident but the crash bars seemed to save the bike from a lot more damage than could have been I got it off Craig's list from a guy in Fresno who had it on his tour deluxe and he upgraded the stereo, speakers.added sirius radio ,usb port, cd player, and 12v plug all for $900. Has 4 woofers and 4 tweeters. Had it painted to match my bike so bike is near the way I want it when I get it back together. I am ok also except for a lot of bruises from being thrown 10 feet and then hitting a wall and sliding 16 feet. I learned all of this from reading the accident report since I was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion. Had full helmet which doctor said saved my life and full leathers so no scrapes on my skin.
  8. Don't have pics yet but a lady hit me from behind yesterday and I wasn't stopped either and doctor said my helmet saved my life and jacket and chaps helped a lot too. No broken bones but was unconcsious for maybe a half an hour and woke up in the ambulance but home now and very sore. Haven' seen the bike yet. Helmets DO save lives along with the grace of GOD!
  9. Get the quick release bolts that 2 members sell on this site. You will never regret it and NEVER have that problem again. I can take off my bag in less than a minute. The cost of the bolts is worth the time you are taking.
  10. I bought the Tourmaster synergy heated jacket liner and gloves and was the best thing I did for riding on days like these. They have separate controls or you can plug the gloves into the jacket. All you have to do is take off the seat and wire the pigtail to your battery. I was sold on those when a friend of mine let me try his. I bought the leather heated gloves. As far as something new for me I'd like the Hoppe industries batwing quick release fairing. and chromed front forks.
  11. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_2_110.gif I'll second that emotion on a great day. A little rain was only a blemish on the day. Great route, food, and great looking bikes on this day. Glad I was able to make this one. How many miles to Ellijay?? Can't wait to do it again. Bob http://www.smileycentral.com/sig.jsp?pc=ZSzeb112&pp=ZNxdm824YYUS
  12. Anyone have these on their bike? I was with a friend over the weekend and he had them installed on his Ford Ranger and I was very impressed with the lighting. Haven't found one for my 2006 RSTD but plan on getting them for my Silverado. Bob
  13. Great Game and me being from PGH could not have been any better even though Pgh should have scored at least one more TD but made for a nail biter. Now we go for #7 Go Steelers!!! 14. Bought the ones on the ebay site from vroc member hillis and they are great. Even ordered another set for a friend. You can probably make them a little cheaper but these are done and work great and you don't have to go try to find the parts.
