That is a very nice bike. He will enjoy it. Mike

I installed the riser extensions. They moved my bars up and back. This did allow for more vertical adjustment of the grips. I also reused the original rubber spacers. They were a tight squeeze so I think they will stay in place. In the end I mounted some gauges on the rubber spacers. Mike

It's been constant for weeks. One storm behind the other and I hate riding in this stuff. Mike

All this devastation and no pictures of looters. Whats this world coming to? japan is like the rest of the world. Plenty of crime to go around but when the chips are down they all seem to pull together. Mike

(sarcasm) I agree. Authorities should be able to inspect any vehicle at any time. Especially motorcycles. In fact I think they should be allowed to come into any bikers home and search for illegal activity or counter band. After all you have nothing to fear if you are squared away and legal. Just think of the crimes that can be prevented and bad guy biker criminals that can be apprehended. Mike

I have noticed if I set my idle at 1000+ rpm the bike seems to slam going into first gear. If I keep the idle lower say to around 950 it doesn't. So I tend to keep my idle on the lower side. I purchased a cheap digital tach. Less than $30.00. The one wire hookup just wraps around any spark plug wire. It does all I need. Mike
-
Check to see if the plug is wet again. If it is make sure you are getting spark at that cylinder. Mike

Lets see. 80% of braking force is on the front. 100% of acceleration force is on the rear. That said car tires seen to have found a way to accommodate this. Then there is the hydraulics to worry about. To much figuring for me. Mike

Once bicyclists have to pay to use the road they may feel like they own it. Talk about jamming things up. Mike

It is a defective tire. Ply (belt) separation. I don't know of any manufacturer that would not warranty that tire. Mike

New Idea for Air Filters
MikeWa replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
For those who missed the formula. 1 cubic foot = 1728 cubic inches. So bikes cubic inches / 2 (because it is 4 cycle) X RPM /1728 (to convert cubic inches to cubic feet) times the expected efficiency of the engine. Most street vehicles, 85%. Turbo and superchargers can push this over 100%. Expected air flow in CFM, cubic feet per minute. 79.326 / 2 X 8000 / 1728 X .85 = 156.08 CFM @8,000 RPM and 126.81@ 6,500 rpm Sorry if I stepped on anybody's toes. Mike -
The rider clearly ducked as the deer went over. i think it is real. The deer was just going to fast for his shadow to catch up. Mike

I have an unused Windows XP Home Edition you can have if that will help you. I bought it then replaced the computer before I could use it. The new PC came with 7 ugh. Mike

I am not sure how the 92 audio system wired but I have had some problems with the J&M upper cable where it plugs into the helmet. Replaced three last year. I am still not sure why J&M thinks this two cable system is so great. There is no difference to me in buying a matching lower cable or just buying a one piece cable. Do the speakers and microphone work for the rest of the audio system? Is your intercom volume turned up? Mike

Can you restore to some point before the program disappeared? Mike

I stopped at a couple of those senic outlooks where I couldn't lift my bike back up. So I now carry some small blocks of wood in my saddle bag. I can put one under the side stand to level the bike if needed and just leave it behind. Mike

Good post. It reminds us all to pay attention. Glad everyone is ok. Mike

You can purchase a float switch at any marine store and most hardware stores. Use it to turn on an alarm or warning light. Just do not run 110 volts to it. Just saying 110v plus flooded basement = stay out of the water. Mike

I have mine mounted in the trunk as well. That is a clarion c-bus cable. They are available on e-bay. Prices range from 3.00 to 60.00 In mounting it in the trunk I found I needed to scoot it as far forward as possible to still squeeze two full face helmets in with it. Mike
