  1. We'd be looking at buying a USED Class A Diesel MH. I would like to be able to take the GS and both my 2 wheeler, Jeannie's trike when we head out for warmer climates in the winter. Possible full time RV living in the future. I'm looking for firsthand experience's, feedback on the pros and cons of traveling with such a load. The following info would be helpful. Trailer type. Long enclosed or shorter stacker style. (Pros & Cons) Horsepower needed to pull grades at a safe speed with a 15K pound trailer in tow. Tag axles? Slides or not ?
  2. As of July 1st a company from Kansas, Bickford Senior Living stepped in and took over the management of the Assisted living Community I worked at. To say the transition was a hostal one would be an understatement. Ruthless greed motivated corporate rat B@$tards would be more accurate. They literally threw all of the existing employees and a good many of what they felt were undesirable residents to the street. Including me. So, now I'm considering a career change. I'm thinking about going to Indianapolis and going through CDL training to become an OTR Big rig driver. I've always enjoyed my travel adventures on the road and think I might enjoy seeing the country through the windsheild of a big rig for a while.
  3. Found this in the paper if anyone needs one it's $50.00 off.... One thing with mine I noticed is if it does not start jacking up if I put pressure on the forks Stand on one) it will start jacking or if that doesn't work it sometimes requires poping the realease a few times it will then start working. Anyone else run into this and did you fix it or like me just living with it? Torque Wrenches: 1/2 - 3/8 - 1/4 coupon is 1 for $9.99 so print 3 and use a different checkout line each time or bring the kids....
  4. http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2011/10/06/news/doc4e8cb6e0b9627514187801.txt A coworker can be added to the list if anyone can put him in your thoughts he seems like he will survive but I am sure he will not be living his life the same way.
  5. December 1st, and I found an excuse to ride. I was glad to have the heated vest, but did not need the heated gloves. A balmy 6 C (44F). I love living here! (I would put a smiley in here, but I don't seem to be able to.)
  6. MY DOG http://us.f1614.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=1%5f935928%5fAPfTi2IAASTaTkflzAD1SkSaLx8&pid=2&fid=Inbox&inline=1 It's just dawned on me!! My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep. If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He is living like a King, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day. I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick ........ I think my dog is a member of Congress
  7. Two years ago my basement flooded ruining everything we had stored....First time it ever happened to us after living here 22 years.....Well, Taters went to do the laundry this morning around 10am and Yep, 3 inches of water in my basement.....Sump pump was running but nothing pumping out. AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!.............. I quickly ran to the hardware and purchased a new sump pump and started pumping out the water.....Got it pumped out in about 5 hours (the last time it took 2 pumps and took around 9 hours).. I got the new pump installed and now have the fans going along with the dehumidifier....At least this time it didn't ruin the washer or dryer and I still have my hot water tank and furnace working..........I can only imagine what could have happened if Taters didn't go down into the basement......You see, we don't store anything down there anymore and other than Taters washing we don't have any reason to go into the basement....Ahhh life is grand....Its these little things that happen in our daily living that makes me feel alive.........The good news is that Taters got her new living room set delivered right in the middle of this FIASCO!!!! AHHHHHHH!!! AIN'T LIFE GRAND.... :fnd_(16):
  8. If you have family or loved ones living with MS, I would be honored to represent them with my participation in the Houston - Austin BP MS150 this April. Their Bandana will be carried by a MS150 Senior Motorcycle Marshal on the entire route. I will contact the individuals after the event and send the bandana to them with a personal letter. From the MS Lone Star Chapter Web Site: Champions Against MS - Connecting for a Cure The CHAMPS program is the link between event participants and people living with MS. Participants receive collectible CHAMPS bandanas personalized by someone living with MS. The bandana symbolizes the CHAMPS connection, which fosters education, awareness and friendship. Participants are encouraged to contact their Champion after the event. Many form friendships that continue well beyond the Finish Line. This is a FREE program for both event participants and people living with MS. Here is the website for more information - Clicky Humbly submitted by: Owen k1oj Motorcycle 5 MS150 Senior Motorcycle Marshal

  13. I have a couple plumbing questions that most everyday people like myself would be stumped. So rather then tie up the site could someone PM me who does it for a living or has LOTS of experience? Thanks and God Bless. Mike
  14. I'm sure everyone has really missed me on the site lately. Well maybe not. Anyway, it's day eight without any electricity which means no heat and no lights in N.E. Arkansas. Prospect isn't good for the next few days either. I just wanted you all to think about me as you sit in your warm living rooms, watching your wide screen T.V.'s, and snacking on junk food. But I have food, a steady job, roof over my head, and INSULATED overalls. What more do I need.
  15. Dont tell Mini but I just bought her a WII video game so she can beat Sledgehammer at Golf. I am sure that I will have to set it up as soon as I get home friday. So if you dont see her in chat you will know she is golfing in the living room. Jeff

  17. Finally some good news to report. After living in an apartment for almost 2 years, this kid is getting back into the home ownership business. I recently found a 2189 sq ft split-level with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room for a resonable price for my youngest boy and myself. It has 0.4 acres of land (plenty for adding a pool in the spring) and a 2 car garage that seems to be big enough to put the car, truck, & bike inside during the winter. Financing in going to be through the VA and the rates are finally looking a bit competitive against conventional loans. Closing will be Nov 25 and possesion will be the first of December. My son was very excited, until he seen the yard that has to be cut. His first order of business is getting a puppy come spring time.
  18. How long have you been married? How about answers for people that are single, divorced, 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Marriage. Or maybe living in blissful sin with a significant other? This is one big-ass smiley!
  19. After all these years...and I even took courses on Tax preparation... I never knew this... If I was single and my wife was single and we weren't living common law....we'd be getting a refund of just over $4000 between the 2 of us on our 2007 taxes. Since we're married (or even if we were living common law), we're getting a refund of appx $390. The reason is...as I sadly discovered...is because when the federal and provincial tax credits are calculated, it takes into account the spouse's NET income and since both of our net incomes are considerably more than the tax credit amounts, we both get NOTHING for a tax credit. In short, we are being penalized two-fold because we are married. What a freakin rip off!!! And I would bet that the Canada pension will penalize us accordingly. Time to get a DIVORCE!
  20. What happens when you have 4 men in a room ? They all are SNORING. :rotf: One was driven from the room to and forced to sleep on living room floor. Then one by one they wake up and start talking about who is snoring the loudest.
