  1. Any vehicle will hydro-plane at a certain speed. Reduce your speed when you see puddles or change lane positon if you can.
  2. This is the same one but only 45. I had one in CA. It works good. But you'll need some rim protectors. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=34542
  3. :rotf: Only a 7.0 is gonna wake Jack up when he's in his recliner....
  4. Always downshift and stay in your powerband. You never know when you might need to suddenly get up and go and there's no time to be tryin to guess what gear your in.
  5. Buried the Speedo a little above 120 and got to 130 by the tach before I chickened out. That's all it had in 5th and I had about 5 miles of straight flat asphalt to get it there. At the time I was running K&N's with RK pipes drilled all the way out.
  6. Don't know. I had an 01 FI. Never really had to use the choke. They are way under powered. The power commander won't make enough of a difference but will allow you to get rid of the ping. I did like the side opening saddlebags. Well, the one on the left can be a bit challenging sometimes. They are lighter than these. I was in the process of adding a trunk to mine. That's when I went ahead and got the RSV. Did you look at an RSTD yet. There ain't no cruise control on the cowee . You'll really miss the V4 when your on the NAD.
  7. Only cost is showin up. You can make resv at the hotel called the hub. Its in another thread. There maybe othere hotels in the area and that will show up in another thread shortly I'm sure
  8. To replace the rear pads on a second gen is about a 20 minute job. Remove the right saddle bag. Remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the caliper mount (#17). Remove the caliper. Remove the 2 clips (#15). Pull the pins (#14) out. Remove the pads and insert the news one and reassemble. You'll need to spread the pads apart before puting them back on over the disc. This can be done with a large screwdriver. Should only take a shop about 15 minutes to do and could be done right there in the parking lot http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/partimage.gifx?d=40215,2,0
  9. :rotf: You asking the choir if this is the right church.. Don't know but If you are 6ft or taller they say the RSV is a better fit. GW has a lot more toys built in for sure.
  10. R LOUD Mounted 2 of them. 1 Chrome on the outside and had one under the bike mounted to where the AIS was. Now its loud enough to scare me and I'm expecting it cause I am the one that pushadabutton. Using 1 30 amp relay and a 20 amp fuse. 12 gauge wire feeding the relay and 2 14 gauges coming off the relay feeding the horns.
  11. :rotf: I've been to Hollister several times. Street Vibrations and Laughlin River Run several times. None of them as nearly as much fun as a VR event.
  12. I was reading that you would need a new radio if you want to pick and choose what you pay for. Other wise you can get either xm or sirius stations on your current radio. The XM equipment is better. I never had a problem with it but this sirius radio is junk. It won't receive half the time under a clear sky much less go under some trees or something.
  13. Does This fit ?
  14. The lights not on but somebody is home ???? Your lights are upside down again Brad
  15. I use to do it on my other bikes. I used a relay instead of a bridge. I also had a couple of cars that had the corning lamps. I used a relay on those to keep them on all the time. I have an HID for the headlight not so its brightness is just a change of focus. You'll be using 110 watts on yours if you wire it like that.

  18. One thing I see is that the TomTom blocks your ability to make outgoing calls unless the bike is stopped. I can make outgoing calls on my Zumo 550 anytime . You can get the 550 for the same price
  19. Why detune it. Just put a bigger tire on the back and give us wheelie bars and were good to go.
  20. I used them a couple of years ago. They were as good as any other at the time.
  21. Better have it looked at. I haven't had an HD that can keep up. Mine's an 05. You are winding it out right. Wind it out a couple of times till you hear it start missing and the oil light flashes. That's the rev limit kicking. Also you should be able to run 85 in 3rd.
  22. Your correcting the pulses from the rear end to the speedometer. So if you set it at a corrected speed of 85 you will be doing 85.
  23. You want one of these http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/images/product/main/SURV-MINI-PIC.jpg Or the large one http://www.featurepics.com/FI/Thumb300/20070430/8ee7Rustic-Shovel-300933.jpg
  24. I had FI on 2 previous bikes and loved it. The only advantage I can see carbs having is that you can still push start a bike with a totally dead battery where as with FI if there's no electric theres no fuel so there's no way to push start. But I stopped push starting 800 lbs bike a while back anyway. Dang things are too heavy to push far. :rotf:
  25. Don't shift outta 3rd till you hit 85. Then its bye bye.
