Awesome Exhaust for the RSV
Tom replied to Aimhigh's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
AimHigh..I can change mine in about 45 minutes..I use the KhromeWerks also. -
Just my comment..I was pulled in late as a committee member(Hope its Ok to say so) But I think I read in the earlier post Bill thanking ALL Committee members. That was good enough for me. Ive done many thing to help members that needed help and never asked for an award. That comes from my heart to my friends here and wherever I may meet them. As far as I see ALL have gone way beyond whatever was asked of them and correct me If I am wrong but Cindy handled all the monies, dealt with our contributers, shopped for prizes kept us all informed on where we stood as far as ticket sales etc. I can tell you there are alot of things going on in the background of an event like this and it would overwhelm alot of people to see how its put together. I could go on but I think you understand. One more thing....Come to the rally,You will see the Whole thing wrapped up and I am sure alot of "Thank You's" will be heard..Not only to the committe members but to our GREAT Members and without their efforts none of this would be possible! I think my rear shock has failed
Tom replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The closest you will come is IF Yamaha cannot get the shock,(Backordered,as was Mine), You gritch enough they will pay their cost of a New shock directly to you($338.00) and you can apply that to a works progressive..They will not put it on though..They say it may not be as good as theirs and cant stand behind it if it fails..BLAH BLAHH BLAHHHH. I know this as FACT as I raised 7 kinds of He-- with them till they gave in when they were backordered. -
That was him..He told me he was going to make a trial run to OKC to see how his leg would hold out..Gotta give the guy a hand. He never gives up!

That fairing cracked is my next projest. I am going to try something called WeldOn 16.Suppose to melt the ABS back together and tough..I will find out soon.
-
You worked very hard at it Bill and as I suspected it IS going to be if not the best right at the top for 1st place rallys! Your hard work has paid off I do believe and all the folks will remember this one..IF Anyone is still on the Fence its not too late..Come join us At our Annual Rally. Tom,

Tom replied to Bowhuntinfool's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
All the 2nd gens are basically the same from 99 up. Mine has been maintenance free but does have the so called clutch whine..not that noticible unless you stay fixed on it.- 8 replies

Well,The bad news is Debby will not be making the Rally with me..Health just will not allow it. The good News is overall She is OK just too many surgeries on the neck. The other good news is I am going to be able to make it along with no other than " Wild Hair 39" Just got off the phone with him so we are going to TRY and ride up there. I told him I will help him pick it up if his leg gives out sooooo Have the Geritol ready the two senior citizens will be pulling in Sunday night at the Hub!

I love to ride also but I will say the comraderie between ALL of us Venture Riders are what is so great. I do understand what you are saying but I will bet if you hang in there some of that will change.I spent one of the best weekends last weekend with some of our members as we learned how to do maintenance on our bikes. It makes me feel good to know that IF I need to I can tear it down and repair it,or in the case of a fellow VentureRider that blew his shock and happened to be here in Texas when it happened, have the knowledge to help him get back on the road to Utah. One guys wife said to me when I helped him on Christmas day, (Never knew him before then),"This site is more than about riding , its a Social Club also!" Well I could not say it better. I hope to meet you sometime and ride....maybe just socialize! Tom By the way its a kick to see V7Goose work on his bike..He IS a perfectionist But if you want to learn alot about the Venture give him a case of beer, shut up, listen and enjoy the experience!

Deer are so unpredictable..I live in probably the worst place for deer..On a typical run to town I will see at least 30 deer..7 miles..If I go farther, say 35 miles have seen as many as 100 plus.I dont do anything but pray they will stay still and TRY not to make any excess noise cause as soon as you change the existing noise or change speeds they run like crazy.Ive seen them come out of nowhere and broadside cars. Hope I never have to try and lock it down but I am pretty good at using the front brake for the majority of stopping power.

No need for apologies,we all know you are here if needed. Besides we got some good moderators so take care of business. Sure wish things would get better for folks but I fear the worst is yet to come.

Dont know how else to title this and wanted all to know IF similar problems. OK Goose Remember we chatted about the Gas Smell and how I know of members that never have to use their choke? WELL, I no longer smell gas! Each day I have started the bike and have yet to use the choke! I guess either the Float resetting or the new plugs had something to do with it..I really think it was the float level as far off as that one was. ALSO,I do not think it has EVER ran smoother. I havnt given it a good run yet due to tring to gather screws I lost and now going to repair cracks in the fairing at windshield mount. Anyway Thanks, its nice to not smell the gas anymore! As far as the 44K goose mentioned in a previous post I have used it for 2 years or so and it is good stuff. My carbs on the inside were spotless.
