  2. OK all I added Pictures and where I got the stuff on the original post.Had a few requests for pics so I also added where I got them.As far as the bracket,Ponch has the drawing to make more if anyone likes it and Im sure its not real costly..but it is VERY sturdy polihed aluminum!

  4. Kreg I just noticed that too..You are right,we got him half the way..MAYBE a 10 gallom hat would help him on down? I can see Squid with a Hoss Cartwright hat! OHHH some may not remember Hoss Cartwright..we will see.

  6. We will leave tha lights on for ya! Get well old man! Tom
  7. I will take a picture tomorrow and show the detail. Ponch made a custom mount for the 2 LEDS on the side of the license plate,(Polished Aluminum Plate). Dang hes good! As usual,I watched and wondered how he was going to get all those wires hooked up but he did it. Also got to use my New Carbon1 Lift adapter and legs to get it up to eye level for us.Worked great! Tom
  8. Thanks to "Ponch" for making a 400+mile round trip from Houston to Blanco I think I can now be seen from the rear....MAYBE. Again, Thanks Ponch! This is my first time posting on you tube so it may not be that good but you will get the idea. Tom ..OK added Pictures as some requested. In first photo, the LEDS are from CycleGadgets.com ,the Bracket was made and machined by our very own "Ponch". (Handicap Tag by State of Texas, for Debby, however I may need it one day!) Second pic shows the ChromeGlow light bar,$29.95,3 functions, running lts, brake lights and turn signals. Both units come with what you need to install. The saddlebag Rail lights are from DiamonRaccessorries.and the tailight from Custom Dynamics. Hope this helps out. It definitely looks better in real time and at night it is AWESOME! 10. Yep..Gonna get them Cowboy Boots on ya and saddle up across TEXAS! Now we gotta get TomEPhil, BradT,Blueslover all you other guys down here. EH!
  11. One thing to consider is these shocks tend to loose there fluid FAST,If you are running 0 air its gonna drop to the ground.Loose control ETC. Thats a major concern also if you loose the oil in shock and keep running just air..IF the air bladder fails, you are a goner.I KNOW, some here are running that waybut if you are drop all air out and you will see the bike hit the ground!
  12. Gauges Like this? Credit goes to Ponch for the setup!
  13. Works Performance is what I use as some other members here..expensive but you do not have to worry about the stock shock blowing again..Buckeyeperformance talk with Rick http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/

    Handling

The E3S or Avons are not radial in the Venture size BUT the difference is the way the tread is,runs side to side. I have run the Avons with NO problems but YES some have had problems. My last set I had 15370 miles on them and plenty of tread on the front but 2/10s on the rear. I went for E3S this time and the handling is just as good with either tire. The Avon has a higher load rating on the REAR tire than the E3 but not that much. IF and ONLY if I have a complaint(for lack of better word) is the E3 is a little noisier on a rough surface road. NOW before anyone gets upset,I was TRYING to find something different, probably no one else may notice this but Ive run 2 sets of Avons and this set of E3S now. The advantage of the E3 is its alot cheaper than the Avon and I guess till Avon finds the problem on sidewall cracking I will use the E3S.

    Handling

Tires suggested will make a world of difference. If I were going to change or do handlebar mods Id go with the Flanders handlebars and yes, beind a little wider and taller bars does help..alot. Rick at Buckeye performance can fix you up on the handlebars, you will need 2 inch longet clutch and throttle cables but he will advise you on this..It is expensive but worth it if the funds are readily available. Risers in cases I know of will hit the Ignition key cover in a hard turn..Some say they dont but I KNOW the flanders are GREAT!

    Handling

If you are still running original tires it is definitely time to change..regardless of mileage..2002 model,thats8 years old and date on tire is more than likely 2 years older= 10 years on tires. Handling will be so much better with Avons or E3S (Dunlop). other than that get in a parking lot and practice practice practice..Practice friction zone braking,if not sure what it is get the ride like a pro video and practice according to his instructions.

It was really nice jacking it up putting on the legs and letting it be at eye level to work on adding all my additional lights we..Ponch..Put on. Thanks Carbon1..... and Ponch for driving to my place from Houston, (Appx 400+ round trip miles) to install my new lights.

  22. The corrosion thing is what happened to mine. I tried several times to keep water out of the housings but nothing stopped it 100% until I drilled VERY small hole in the bottom of the lens..Havnt had a problem in years now.
  23. It is a beautiful ride up there and yes you are right,When you ride with the stock harleys thats where they see the big difference in Power..Not torque,Power. Not bashing the Harleys its just a little disappointing to the few friends I have that my Venture will pull better than theres even when Im pulling my Trailer, in the mountains especially.
