  1. So your boring too? I know he hasnt got around to us yet but have ta have fun with it!
  2. I suspect you have WAYYYY more problems than rejetting..Ive run with too many and can see no difference other than they burn more fuel. Not trying to stir a pot but after having mine since new in 2004 I know what they run like and what rejetting does. Good Luck and keep us posted! Have him check coils, float levels ETC also.
  3. Im starting to feel like a Red Headed Step Child, with buck teeth and one eye in the back of my head..All mine says is "Tom"....But I am boring anyway!
  4. Ditto on the trailering bike. Debby has had 17 major neck and spines surgeries and its hard on her to ride..now she does it sometimes but its tough on her. Thats why I say it will be a miracle IF She rides with me to the Rally. IF you see the YamaHawg on August 3rd riding in you will bet my co rider will be TIRED!
  5. Seaking,Let me know the outcome.I know after I did mine it seemed better than when new.Probably because it took awhile to get to that point!
  6. Woops..I voted and aleady registered..Take it off! SORRY
  7. Here is an article that may help..I use DOT4 Brake fluid, called Yamaha to verify. Here is an article that helps explain. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/howto/122_0306_hydraulic_clutch_service/index.html
  8. Arent you glad you didnt buy that Harley now! For the first time since I had my Venture(New in 04) I was in Luchenbach the other day and It was the attention getter.(Mostly Harleys there ALWAYS)One Harley rider even said he wished Harley made a bike that big and he would look at one next time!
  9. It should be the same color unless the fluid is getting ol..Mine turned almost black looking . Uses same fluid.
  10. It is a simple job,I knew nothing of how to do it but I searched the tech forum and found out about speed bleeders and followed those in structions.I will try and find and post the link..Squid has the part #s for the bleeders once you get those its EASY! If you have a 2nd person and bleed it just like bleeding brakes it is simple. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7820&highlight=speed+bleeders
  11. How many miles are on the bike? Did you buy it new? Before I replaced the clutch I would flush the fluid. ( I am suspecting the clutch). I found out the hard way to flush those fluids every so often.I thought I was loosing my clutch but flushed the entire system and its better that ever. It should not be at the release point.Tom
  12. Also figure accessories, some say it will not make a difference but I know I am thinking of a new bike and I wouldnt take no less than 10.5 for mine,(and its a 2004 Midnight) BUT I have every piece of chrome and aftermarket stuff plus Zumo550. Then again at this point I dont need to sale so that has to figure in also.
  13. My opinion its unnecessary. I had a friend that had his RSTD rejetted,He jumped me but never could get away from me..The guy that jetted his told him to get noticable power you need to get more air to it and it would be tough to do so without a bunch of mess hanging off the side. It shouldnt have any trouble eating Harleys as I havnt had one stay with me,yes Jump me on takeoff to 2nd gear but after 3rd its over with,Usually come out of 3rd around 90 if not mistaken. Wind it up!
  14. Ive run em on mine for 16000 miles now and they look great,I have a pair of Elite 3s to try but I am really thinking of getting another set of Avons and put back on...I know some have had sidewall cracking issues but none here yet...Be sure you wear off that NEW slick dressing they put on the tires before really getting in it on the curves.

  16. These are the lower vents Buddyrich is talking about http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/catalogs/detail/26/207/407/3664/1/0/0/1/4/90/69/35535/tinted-lower-wind-vents.aspx They really do a good job along with my Clearview W/S with the vent.
  17. \IF you get down to the Hill Country in Texas where I live call me and I will take you on the famed 3 sisters ride. Tom Blanco,Texas, (N of San Antonio,West of Austin,TX)
  18. Goose I will be getting in touch to work out a time frame..like to do it before the Rally if possible. Working this week but start my week off Saturday. Talk soon,Tom
  19. I need to TRY and do mine but a little afraid to do as every carb Ive touched has been destroyed by me..I dont trust ANY Yamaha dealer but there is a place in San Antonio called Extreme Powersports that seems to know what they are doing..Anyone that rides behind me can smell Gas at times and MPG has dropped drastically.
  20. Ive been registered but just now mapped out my trip up there...I AM READY!
  21. TX2Stur...I am off that week I may ride up there to say hello and spend Weds and Thurs night there...Will stay in touch..only 600 or so miles so very do-able in a days ride.Ill look up Lowell and see what hes up too those days.
  22. http://dchwestfall.com/2009_VentureRider_Rally.html Here ya go my friend!
  23. IF its a softtail I THINK a soft tail has the 2 pipes on the right side,Not dual, one on each side that is????
  24. I agree totally with post#10 (Thom440) I always take off rolling forward abit and then make my turn. IF I have to turn on a dead stop, slight "wobble "feel but its as Thom440 says.Try it you will see. Pulling a trailer is very different to most at first then you get used to it..CAUTION: NEVER GET TOO USE TO IT OR OVERCONFIDENT. Now,On my bike also the steering head stem nut was slightly loose and that helped out tremendously. Just my 2 cents.
  25. Avon doesnt make the WWW but Do on the 130 size. Dunlops 404 has them but I do not like the way they ride on the roads around here that are grooved out..they go all over the road. I have Avons but stock size and bought a set of Elite3s (Nothing against e3s just havin second thoughts) I have in the garage but I may go ahead and order Avons agin as I have had such good luck with them .
