  1. I guess you know if you made these they would sell! Id be the first...I cant build a doghouse..well I did once and it fell in.
  2. Beer, when you do have the adapter made count me in on one! Thanks.Tom
  3. Can modify that easy by putting an oval ring that hangs down from there..however if the trailer popped off the hitch at all I kinda think alot of things would be messed up in the end...Also,a mud flap can be used without crimping the flap..fits great behind the hitch..I will enclose a picture if I find one
  4. Perhaps he needs an Invite to our Get Together in Arkansas? In any event there is potential for some kind of disturbance but all in all with the amount of people at alot of these rallies it is more peaceful than concerts, some political rallies and yes even city council meetings. Violence can rear its ugly head anywhere and anytime as we have seen the last few days on the news. I have been to rides or get togethers where there are tourists that are stand offish when they see us but as Debby says,I talk too much so I go over and generally talk to anyone. Most are hesitant and then after a bit they realize we are regular people just enjoying life as they are. The last big rally I went to was in Galveston and there were thousands there..I dont remember any violence,in fact the locals, especially in business, loved the business and the waitresses said the bikers always tipped better than the average joe. Of course everyone knows the media isnt biased....(If that statement is Political or offends ANYONE please delete)
  5. PM sent,I have a cracked one. Tom
  6. Usually it is a decal,or piece of paper that is just scotch taped on..I put them on my inside of windshield and no problems. Now some parks such as Big Bend Natl park just give a slipo of paper and tell you to put it in your billfold in case you are stopped and need to show it. Hope this helps. Tom

    Opinions please..

In my Opinion the wing and RSV are about the same as far as weight issues. Both feel heavy at first but MOST get use to the weight and have no problem after getting use to it. My opinion the Wing handles better, seems to be more sport tuned,Snarley Bill can be more specific on this,But again the Venture handles superb,I am just trying to give an opinion that I and only I have observed....Each rider has there own "Feel" for different bikes. I would change the cassette deck out for sure on the RSV and the so called "Whine"from the straight cut gears can be annoying if you focus on that and only that. The bike is to me more comfortable than ANY I have ever been on as far as room and general ride. I can ride or have ridden 750+ miles and still could have gone more but dont care for night riding. Bottom line ride one,or come to Texas and I will let ya take mine out and ride it awhile..Good Luck! No matter what you ride you will find you are welcome on this site with anything, just dont have thin skin as we sometimes like to "Rib" each other but its all in fun. Tom
  11. If it is I GUARANTEE he will LOVE IT,I have one and it is impossible for me to make it sway, empty or loaded..Pulls fantastic!
  12. What brand?
  13. Kbay,LilBit even resembles some of those ALIENS of folklure around Marathon,Tx..That one picture looks like a SPACE HELMET and Suit!..Seriously though its one heck of a good ride..Great to be in Texas in the Winters especially! Tom
  14. Don He has quite a story of things NOT to do on a 601 mile trip(one way)...That will be posted later by him if he does not call you beforehand! LOTS of Black Tail Deer at night..trust me.
  15. Gary,I have a BIG heart..Its the LEAST I can do for you guys!
  16. Well we did our February ride dedicated to our great northern friends. This will now be an annual event to help out those who are snowbound and need to know that YES,we are riding on your behalf! It is the LEAST I can do for our friends. We had a FANTASTIC ride and to my surprise the first night I was on the street corner in Marathon,Texas looked up and here comes Ponch and Lil Bit riding in from Tomball,Texas 601 miles...He will update on his wild experience so I will not get into that any farther but it was a shocker to see that White RSV coming into town!Anyway our weather was great except one day we had a little West Texas sand storm but in tradition we put cloths over our faces and braved the elements. Here are a few pictures, enjoy and trust me,we raised a few margaritas for all of our VentureRider friends and shed quite a few tears for you guys....Tom Pics as follows Kerrville Texas and theier Texas Swimming pool On Top of a Sister Pecos River (4 Pics) Roy Beans cafe Texas Toilet Paper Lil Bit,Ponch and Me Santa Elena Canyon,Big Bend (2 pics) Top of river rd,Hwy 170 out of Bib Bend (5 Pics OH Yes, And for our Stratoliner/Roadliner friends and Owners a picture of my friends Roadliner with a Dragonfly fairing Installed on it..I think it looks great!
  17. Well This Friday AM I am leaving for a 1500+ mile ride to Big Bend National park.Yes we will have COLD weather,42 in the AM and 68-70 in the daytime but I will not complain as it is to be SUNNY all 3 days with the exception of Sunday and a few clouds. If anyone in our Texas bunch happens to be out that way we will be in Marathon,Texas Friday and Saturday night at the Marathon Motel. They have a VERY nice pavillion area with a very nice outdoor fireplace,We have our Salsa and Chips and Margaritas for our evening BS sessions so if anyone wants to meet up we will see ya there..Oh yea GaryN,Ramblingman,Blueslover..I will be thinking of you guys..And yes Squid and Freebird also...There is HOPE for all of you that winter will soon be over..We have had it tough here in Texas this winter!I will post pictures Sunday night.
  18. Being I have not met you YET,but will in Arkansas,I will let REDNECK give you the Reward and Im sure he will not offend you.....To be continued!
  19. I use the Larin jack with this adapter on it..Works great.. http://www.motorcyclejacks.com/adapter.shtml
  20. There are cabins you can rent at and around Custer State Park..That puts you in the center of about everything. Iron Mtn Road,The Needles Hwy Keystone,Search online and many things about custer park..Have Fun!
  21. Yes They fit.
  22. They handle superb in the corners and Yes even in wet weather..I think we have about 3 members that dont like them, said they felt slick in the corners but I and MANY others do not seem to have that problem. I have 14000 miles on mine now and they look good but I may replace soon as I feel that is pushing it..I think mileage varies on the aggressiveness one rides..I am fairly conservative unless by myself but most of the time I am 2up riding..My opinion stay with the STOCK sizes.
  23. I run Avons and to ME its the best as far as smoothness and I have 14000 on mine now and looks good,Some run a car tire but I personally will stick with my Avons. Lots of write ups if you do a search...METZLER is in my opinion the worst tire for these bikes,we have had numerous Metz tires start throwing rubber or blow... Good Luck,Tom
  24. Dont feel bad as I sometimes cannot find what I am looking for so I may post about a topic that has already been written up on. I think you will get some responses negative on Avons but to be honest I scrach my head when I read them when people say they feel "slick"in the rain or slippery?? 99% who have them love them and it is the first tire Ive ridden on that actually feels VERY stable in the rain. You will also read how the smaller front tire makes it feel lighter..Well when I switched to Avons with the STOCK sizes it made it feel 300 lbs lighter and easier cornering at slow speeds....go figure! I gues it boils down to some people say"Potato" some say or spell "Potatoe" but Ill just stick with "Taters"! Tom
  25. Well,When on my RSV and someone comes up playing RAP or any other Mess I do not Like that is VERY loud,I turn mine up with a little Hank Williams REAL LOUD right next to them...I guess not the best thing to do but I figure they want me to hear their music so I want to introduce them to some country music...Yep I get in trouble from Debby EVERYTIME I do this...."Honky Tonk Badonkadonk"Really gets there attention.
