No..Rejetting on these bikes is a waste of money. My Opinion. I have aftermarket pipes and just synced the carbs. You MAY get a little popping noise on decel but there are a few things to do to get rid of most of it but if you rejet I have not seen one yet that ran like they thought it would. It will use more fuel though.

Thanks Big Hack, and if you do talk to Avon let me know how they are handling it. I am gonna need tires and have a brand new set od E3s but I think I am gonna stay with Avons BUT If they treat Ya bad NO WAY. Tom (Nothing against E3s just like the higher wt rating on the rear tire)

Looking for a windshield - Do YOU have one collecting dust?
Tom replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
I also have a Wider stock height windshield Yamaha offers BUT the holes to mount have cracks at the mounting holes..It was working fine on my bike but I bought a Clearview.. -
It is gonna vibrate if you are 60 in 5th going up hills accellerating.I run the hill country in Texas alot as i live there, wind her up,you will get use to it. I ran mine HARD the other day,I come out of 3rd around 93-95 mph. usually at 60 and if I need to accelerate quick ill downshift to 3rd and romp on it..if you do hold on!Hills should not be a problem 2 up at 60 in 4th.

Bartley,I got the Itch awhile back and as said go for a ride, you will see you got the BEST. I just about bought a Harley Ultra, then I rode one..New one for half a day. Bottom line in our area alot of hills so I got to REALLY see the difference in power. (Not Knocking Harley At All) They have a VERY nice bike, but not for me. Well since I always had wanted a "Hog" I spent 10 bucks and got one...See attached Photos...Ride safe my friend!

Dont know about the plug under the seat but I put a waterproof 12V adapter on the lower left side between the drvers floorboard and the passenger floorboard(there is a small rubber plug there)It was a perfect size for the accessory plug and I wired direct to Battery(Fused) for running an air pump. Maybe this info is helpful.

Sarges,I think I have one..I will look in a bit and if I do I will send it to you or if no hurry If you are coming to the rally Ill give it to you there.I will go look in a bit. OK I FOUND IT. It is the lower cord only though, the chatterbox type that takes 2 cords. I have the LOWER CORD. The one that plugs into the cable on the bike. It then connects to a cord that plugs into the helmet(Upper Cord)(that one I do not have). If this will help let me know. Tom

Dont know what speed but around 93 94 or so in 3rd. If your not hitting the limiter you havnt seen the full power of it yet! Tom. NOW, They may have put on a power commander that increases the revs so I know nothing of how to determine that.

SeaKing,That is great news. That is whats great about this site, alot of us have had similar problems and share our past experience with others, Most take the ideas as really trying to help and most of the time it is something as simple as this. Bottom line..Saving money! Glad it worked out for you and glad we ALL could help with our own experiences. Tom

DEFINITELY remove the shifter and reinstall the same bolt using the BLUE Loctite. It WILL work out and fall off at the most inconvenient time. Many more things to do as preventative maintenance, make a list. They are great bikes but loctite(blue ) needs to be put on all bolts as mentioned earlier in the posts. Tom

Tom replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Both, as mine were aligned together, just a slight tap clockwise and it got the results I was looking for. No more front end wobble. -
Tightening the steering Head attempt
Tom replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
27MM. tighten a little bit at a time when you do this. It will make a world of difference. If neccessary to do again in future Id recommend pulling it apart and inspecting , replace bearing IF needed and pack. Not a pro on this just from hear say. -
Bigfoot,IT IS WORTH IT!! If no one wants to take my word I helped out another VR member on Christmas Day of 2008,He had a flat and evidentally had the members list with him he called asking if I knew where he could get his tire repaired..well Christmas day there was 0 chance so I told him I would bring a bottle of ride on and we would put it in and air it up.Did it, then had him ride it about 5 miles. As far as I know he is still riding on that tire as it was in decent shape. The next morning after Christmas he had to get to Houston and he told me it never lost anymore air!
