  1. Well here goes. I've read all the posts about Shinko 777 vs Dunlop 404's. Most of the post or threads were for Gen 1. I am going to put WWW on my 2000 RSV MM and trying to decide on which of the only two brands that handle MT90-16 for the front & 150/90-15 for the rear, Shinko & Dunlop. Anybody with experience with these tires or any suggestions where to find more brands of WWW tires in these sizes. Sorry to start this thing about tires again, but I haven't found any really definitive answers about these tires for a 2nd Gen.
  2. A guy on my STAR forum has a black & white 1998 RSTC (nice looking, added Venture package). He is lookin for wide white walls, he is only finding Dunlop 404 www and Brigstone www. (I think the sizes are: front 150/80/16 and rear 150/90/15) Anyone know of more choices to fit that bike? Thanks, Mike G in SC
  3. I ordered a D404 WWW tire on Rocky Mountain ATV, because they had the best price. I was assuming that the D404 WWW had the whitewall to the edge of the tire. The tire that they sent, however does not look like the picture. The description on the tire is D404 WSW. When I look on the Dunlop website, it appears that the D404 only comes in a WWW, but this tire is definately not a Wide Whitewall. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do;jsessionid=76C8C1F442BBE9670536DEE639C03ECB.westring1?webCatId=8&webTypeId=229&navTitle=TiresandWheels&navType=type&prodFamilyId=19444&stockId=140073&ref=gmc This is the site and the tire looks nothing like this. Did I receive the right tire? or did they change the Wide Whitewall Look? Thanks:confused07:
  4. Well, I finally got it on today, and I was very nervous about this whole process. I went very well, got the old one off easily, the new one went on, not quite as easily as the old one came off, but not too bad. It's a Nexen, 165-80/15 that I had Diamond Back vulcanize a 2 1/4" whitewall on each side. I NEED whitewalls!!!!!!!! NOW, beading it up was another thing, did it probabaly 6 times total, each time adding a little more air,and finally (with lowell's sugestion) a little WD-40, and when it popped, made me jump for sure, but it's on, and balanced. Now waiting for my Harley Davidson, rear, MT-90-16 to come on Tue, and then I'll mount that one backwards on the front. This is a Dunlop 402 MT-90/16 WWW, which is 1 3/4". All I can say is that the first bunch of miles should be very interesting! Steve
  5. Forget it it I just cross referenced it with the Dunlop website and put 2+2 together and realized it was the difference between WWW and BWs.... the 2 pics of BW tires threw me...
  6. I need to get new tires and I want to change to WWW. I looked at the info here and decided I wanted to try the Avons but I was told by a dealer that the one suggested by this site for the Venture is no longer available in WWW. (correct weight ratings) V rating is all that is available. Who has WWW tires? What kind? Sizes? F/R? How do you like them? Should I get the 130 Avon WWW and then a different brand rear WWW? How about Dunlops WWW? I hear good things about the E 3's but cant find them listed in WWW. I need to order them this week as I am getting low on tread with inspections coming up plus I just had to plug the rear? What is the difference in a 150/90 b15 80h and a 170/80-hb15 (the avon in www that I can find). Should I get the Dunlop 404 in WWW rear and the Avon mt90B 16 74 h front tire in WWW or should/Can I use the Avon AM42 170/80-hb 15? All replys appreciated!!
  7. Font highlights all of a sudden, On the web site where ever the word Venture appears it is highlighted Aqua, wherever ORG appears it is highlighted in Magenta, and where ever www appears it is highlighted in Canary Yellow. Is everyone seeing this or has some one put something in my beer?
  8. can someone tell me if I can buy a set of avon tires, the same size as the stock tires.(150/80 16)front,,and the (150/90 15)rear, in the wide white wall. I'm having trouble findin the stock size in the www. Or do I need to go to the 130/80 16 in the front. And also where can i find the best price.? thx in advance.
  9. I need help finding a maxxis 150/90-15 WWW. It seems that they quit making them and can find the front, but not a rear in WWW. If you know of another WIDE WWW, I'd for sure check them out. I know that I can get Dunlop 404 WWW but they aren't as wide, and I want a WIDE-WWW. If I have to, I'll get the dunlops. Thanks, Steve
  10. I know there are lots of threads about headsets already here, but I didn't feel they applied. I've just purchased a 00 Millenium RSV. I pick it up at Thanksgiving. I would like to get a headset ordered that works with the factory plug. I've been checking the WWW and the options are way too many to know what to do Can you guys recommend the best one for this bike. I have open faced Fulmer helmets with a face shield. Thanks and love the sight.
  11. Hello all, Well I've come to a couple conclusions here: 1. Trigger needs needs some new tires, and 2. I want Wide Whitewalls. (www) 3. I would like those new tires to be either Avon or the Michelins. HOWEVER...i'm having trouble locating WWW tires of any brand. So, i was wondering if those of you out there might be able to suggest where i might be able to acquire such tires. [please no Dunlaps...that's what's coming off and i doubt that i'll ever go back to them] many thanks Ron
  12. I need some help. I ordered a new set of WWW Avons in March from a Western Canada dealership. After repeated promises of April 4 delivery - I was informed today that my $135 Avon MT90HB16 WWW (the narrower unit suggested by several people on this list) will require a few more months of waiting. Would anyone have any ideas where I might purchase this tire for a western canadian ? I appreciate your suggestions and ideas. Thanks in advance for your help
